For "educational purposes" really works. I've learned from this in Russia if I'm a passenger in a car, bus, truck or tram, walking, riding a bike, driving a car, bus, truck, van or motorcycle in dry, rainy or snowy weather or during the day or night I'm not safe.
Take the train while there, is all I can say.

Плохих водителей к моему большому сожалению у нас хватает. Но это не значит что все такие, основная часть адекватно управляют автомобиль по правилам. В России есть такая поговорка "В семье не без урода". Удачи Вам всем, будьте добрыми друг к другу.
За последние 3-4 года у меня наоборот складывается впечатление что 80% мудачелы за рулём!

I lived there in the 90’s and it was crazy, seriously.
Here in Canada, when you see a vehicle directly in your path, you take steps to avoid colliding with it.
Oh yeah? I'm Russian and been leaving in GTA for 20 years. Driving every day sometimes more than 300 km a day. And I'm telling you I've seen some serious shit on the roads and highways. When it comes to stupid driving there's no nationality or race. Stupid driver's just stupid driver.

Depends on what part of Canada. I grew up in Toronto and yeah people drive like they will feel validated if they can kill someone on their commute. Currently, I live in Ukraine. In Vinnytsia, it's a lot like Toronto, but in Ternopil, where I have relatives, everyone is so chill and polite on the roads and cars always stop for pedestrians. A huge difference in driving culture, just 3 hours drive away. I never lived elsewhere in Canada, so it's just an assumption it must be different than Toronto. @@renaissance2005

Road traffic in Russia is fascinating. Rules seem to be non-binding recommendations, direction indicators and brake pedals are optional accessories, speed limits seem to be non-existent and wheel nuts are in short supply. Regardless of the weather, vehicles suddenly stand sideways or come somewhere from the botany or oncoming traffic.

Просто у нас не государство интегрирует народ , а народ государство . Если русские решили, что им где-то удобно переходить, то ничего не поможет. Ни штрафы, ни решётки, ни смерть. Тогда государство в том месте рисует пешеходные переходы или ставит светофоры . Поэтому они часто в таких непонятных местах
