    What I never get it is the motorcycles that try to take on a car or the cars that try to take on a semi. It doesn't matter if you are right if you end up dead, disable or disfigured. That also goes for anyone that doesn't get out of the way of trains. Trains always win.

      You're not wrong. Where it makes sense, I follow the "might makes right" scenario. I'm not gonna screw with a semi truck, no matter what the scenario is.
      In fairness, I wouldn't screw with a pedestrian either, but for the sake of this argument, might makes right. If it's bigger than me, I'm just gonna let it do what it does. It's gonna win anyway

      Motorcyclists don't take on cars, the idiots in the cars have no respect or decency to watch out for bikers. Semis own the roads, if you don't believe this than you're a jackass and you don't belong behind the wheel of any type of vehicle.

  • @FreakyAngelus
    @FreakyAngelus 2 роки тому +76

    Isn't it amazing that most of these situations would require skills in the form of steering and breaking to resolve a minor problem to no problem.. instead... they went for the horn and keeping speed and lane... yes... keep driving like that, these videos are amusing!

    • @Snowninja32
      @Snowninja32 2 роки тому +14

      That is what I was thinking. A lot of these could have been avoided if the “victim” focused more on dodging and braking rather than honking the horn.

    • @cklay1084
      @cklay1084 2 роки тому +12

      Depending on the situation, dodging can often cause more havoc than getting hit. Also, if someone hits you they take the blame, whereas if you dodge and hit someone else then you take the blame.
      But yeah, idiots who race people trying to merge, cause an accident they aren't on the hook for and then post the video like they have some moral high ground should have their licenses revoked permanently.

    • @FreakyAngelus
      @FreakyAngelus 2 роки тому +6

      @@cklay1084 I disagree, avoiding an accident is what you're supposed to do by law, it certainly won't create havoc "more often". Purposely letting a collision happen makes you liable for it as well, at all times you must attempt to avoid a collision. Several of these accidents were blatant results of not even trying. It shows mental 'confusion' on 'rights' and a lack of both empathy and mature reasoning. The entire "they must yield on the ramp-up" is an example of both true and untrue... if they can't go anywhere then you're deliberately causing a collision, as you didn't give them a route for yielding. Thinking they should just break and have people behind them collide with them, is not a valid argument. This is why you're supposed to use the ability of sight to see what the situation is and adjust yourself as well if the outcome would be a collision you could've avoided or a collision of others you could've prevented.
      That doesn't mean there aren't situations where taking the hit prevents more damage, havoc and issues, but those are rare... even in these videos I've seen only 1 I thought taking a frontal collision would be safer for all so far and maybe another 2 or 3 open for a debate... This is video 89. Not ojnly is 'more often' very wrong in real life, even in these videos the length can be cut by half if people would avoid the accident instead of purposely letting it happen.
      Unless of course you mean most of these people specifically as they can't drive and them touching the wheel further kind of results in loss of control... in which case... considering how bad they're driving to begin with, you might be right that these 'drivers' might make things worse if they try to do even more 'steering' of their vehicle.

    • @cklay1084
      @cklay1084 2 роки тому +3

      @@FreakyAngelus The law does not demand you avoid an accident. The law demands you follow the rules of the road. If you violate those rules for any reason and cause a crash, you are responsible for that. Dodging almost always necessitates that you break the rules of the road. Consider a car responding to a sudden rock in the road. If they slam on the breaks and get rear-ended, they are not liable, whereas if they swerve into the left lane and get rear-ended then they are liable. You're correct to say people should be avoiding accidents, but if in the course of avoiding one you cause another...
      Swerving is never legal. Unless the road is empty, swerving is never smart either. You said dodging is better in most videos here, but almost all reactions are breaks.
      12:48 is a good example. Dodging was the correct call here. However, in order to dodge he had to fly into oncoming traffic. If he hit somebody he would be liable, he wouldn't have actually avoided a crash, and the person who actually caused the whole thing can drive away scot-free. Generally, it is smarter to just break as much as possible and brace for impact. If you are aware enough of the road conditions to dodge then go for it, but that should not be a default response.
      In regards to merging, the law will never hold the person in the lane liable for a merging crash. Ever. That doesn't mean they are in the moral right.

      I can only guess that there was either a left side on ramp, or an upcoming left lane exit. I know we have both near me in Michigan. I got real curious, so I found out where this was (Dallas) The highway they are on does split less than a mile ahead. But it splits with 3 left lanes and 3 right lanes. So while the semi could be getting ready for that split, I'd say he still should not have been in the far left lane.

      THIS is the shocking moment a speeding car plunges off a mountain top but the driver miraculously survives.
      Footage of the incident shows a red Audi speeding past a motorcyclist before slamming on the breaks and losing control.
      Thankfully, the driver survived and shared images of his smashed-up car with a collapsed exhaust and a front bumper that was almost completely demolished.
      The accident occurred on Al-Hada Road - which can rise up to 6,500ft above sea level - in the hilly region of Taif Governorate in Saudi Arabia on Friday, according to local reports.
      Footage uploaded to UA-cam captures the petrol-head driver speeding up to overtake a car in front but is suddenly cut off.

    The most amazing thing about all of this is the number of people who think their horn is magic and will clear a path for them. I estimate that a third of these crashes could have been avoided if the driver had hit the brakes instead of the horn...

    • @MacTechG4
      @MacTechG4 2 роки тому

      And considering the brakes are foot operated. And the horn is hand operated, it’s possible to do both! (But prioritize the brakes), but as evidenced here, most drivers are incapable of single-tasking, let alone multitasking…

    3:40 driver is hovering in the largest blind spot a tractor-trailer has. DO NOT HOVER BESIDE A TRACTOR-TRAILER. Pass or stay behind him. Don't brake check one either, most 53' trailer loads are around 30,000 to 50,000 pounds, that much weight doesn't stop on a dime. Even a pup trailer can carry 25,000, and most pups are hauled in sets. Better to not get in an accident at all than be in the right in one.

    11:00 Dont do that.
    Dont slow down next to an accident just to film something. If your dashcam caught it thats fine, but if you slow down youre an obstacle to other drivers in an area that is already narrowed down by one or two lanes, and on top of it youre distracting yourself with camera work and risk rear-ending the next guy or hitting debris.
    Just keep driving normally.
