Another tip: don’t wear kpop merch in a audition. It makes the judges think that you’re only here for the idols. And I heard it is better to do a face to face audition instead of online. They say that there is a Low chance that you’ll be chosen in a online audition. And if you audition for a certain company, make sure you don’t sing their songs since it also makes them think you’re only here for them.
Good tips! I think its better to do your audition in person. (Now it's better to do it online.) Also, in person you are doing it LIVE. Not online. They can actually look at you in person.

Go for it!!! But you can also do it like Grace: set up your yt channel and make your own (music) videos!! There are sooo many ways to become an artist and I believe that if you really put a lot of effort into it and don't give up halfway, you are going to make it. Yes, it is going to be difficult, but you can do it! If you maybe have a good singing voice, then try to take vocal lessons to improve further and get basic dance lessons (like Grace said in her video). If you are a badass rapper or try to become one, practice rapping (there are so many helpful websites on the internet for that if you need tips) and maybe rap along your favorite artists (I'd recommend that you rap in your mother tongue first). Also, try to write your own songs and maybe learn an instrument or learn music production/building beats. Last but not least, put yourself out there!!!! Do it like A.C.E and busk with your own songs!! Try to perform at local festivals or small venues to promote! Create your own yt channel where you put out your music and maybe other stuff you are interested in, like Grace if you want. You can also post dance covers, if you happen to be an amazing dancer. If you get into a kpop company that's fine also, but this is connected to soo many risk factors, so don't rely on them for making you an artist. An artist arises BECAUSE they want to put themselves out there, not because they auditioned at some company and were taken in. In addition to that, if you should actually debut with a group, you probably won't do R&B but the style your company wants you to do. Look at JB from Got7. Is this really what you want? Don't let your parents hold you back. You can do it baby girl :D Also if you decide to do all or some of these things let me know so I can check you out. I'll be your first official fan ^^
Luv how she talked bout that we shouldn't just stick with kpop audition tbh I dont know why international fans are pressed about having foreign member in group for example, I feel that Korean dont mind it as long as you have the talent, ent treat you the same as the Korean member speak the language and RESPECT THE CULTURE I think its fine (my opinion)
I really want to audition but Im too young but I wanna start young. Im scared that going the path that I want to go on will upset my parents cause yk how Asian parents are
talk to your parents about it, it may be difficult though. I have asian parents too and they told me that they want me to do medicine and nursing but I talked to them about wanting to perform on stage and how happy it makes me feel etc. also, it’s better to be younger. boa joined sm when she was 10 and jisung debuted in nct when he was 13/14. good luck :)

I want to audition for BigHit online since there's no global audition. Hope it's not too late, I will give my best performance. ( I'm male 2003) Great video GRAZY ❤️😍 Edit: the thing is that I wanna write songs and make choreographies if I ever enter in the music industry, I'm passionate about the Korean music industry the most since we all know how aesthetic are all the MV's, how beautiful are the visuals of the artist, the HUGE performances ect. ect... Still wouldn't mind if I succeed in the American music industry but since there are only vocals we don't get to see the dances and that kinda performances there I just kinda don't like it that much I guess.
I'm 20 and I remember sending my singing mp3 to JYP a couple months ago and getting a reply saying please send more files of your singing. Does this mean they got a little interested in me?
I’m trying to audition for any Kpop agency that gives me a chance of course imma be careful and I’m trying to take as much info as possible. This video was very helpful anything and everything helps TYSM❤️
make sure to not dance to only kpop songs, dance to a english song or whatever other song and one that shows your skills, because kpop songs tend to be easy for fans to learn rather than dances that the youtube studio like dancers do like 1MILLION dance
the reason why I specifically want to become an artist in the kpop industry is because the whole concept seems more realistic than just hoping to be discovered by the media. when you're a trainee you get taught everything you need to know when performing on stage etc. and it's a much safer way to make a livable income. I do take it really serious and even if I don't make it I will continue making art but I know I won't be as likely to make it my job.
i absolutely agree with that. sitting in your own country and waiting to get magically discovered sounds so exhausting but with kpop exposure is already guaranteed.
Yeah u r right that's why I also chose K-pop industry cause not every industry give a proper training (no offense) I think this is the better one let's meet if we audition for the same company 🙏
I took 8 year on stage 6 years on doing cheerleading and 2 years on my middle school dance team and took a year of dance class. But I feel like if I do become a kpop artist I need to work on vocals and appearance.
I'm way out of the range to audition for kpop, but having done musical theatre for ten years, I appreciate you saying not to be afraid of the judges. Even if you're in front of the biggest names, they want you to succeed! They don't want to sit and watch people fail. They're on your side, and feedback - even negative - is given because they see something. They won't waste their time trying to give feedback to someone they don't think 'has it'. The worst feedback is no feedback.
When Grace said "you only apply to Korean auditions" I felt that but this is the only audition that's actually giving us all a chance. There aren't many opportunities on this side of the world.

8:46 i'm glad she said this. the new generation of hyper-inspired koreaphiles are more interested in participating in the kpop dream than knowing what being a kpop artist actually is, and it comes at the expense of kpop fans. those without proper guidance end up learning the hard way, like those brave souls who debuted as kpop idols outside korea (you know who i mean). i personally don't expect kpop fans to be merciful to idols whose heads aren't in the right place when they plunge into the world of kpop.

I was kinda into auditioning for Korean entertainments last year but didn't join at the end. I realized I probably wasn't gonna get through at all and I don't know how to dance at all so I'd suck hard. However, right now I'm thinlinh of just starting off in my own country (Belgium) and just start writing songs and composing and producing (I know a lot about music and styles and how to write and instruments so this is rlly fun to me), and then see how that will grow out. I'll probably end up being in my 20s still not having made it so then I'll just try to be a music producer and music composer (maybe writer), hopefully ending up in the US, then doing demo versions for songs and hopefully people will see potential in my voice (a bit like how Meghan Trainor's career went, but without the controversy lol) Thank you so much for the vidoe though!!

I'm Chinese American and I just want to do music. Music means everything to me and I honestly would love to do anything to American pop to k-pop. Problem is here in America us East Asians don't really have as much of a shot at Western pop. People who are White, Hispanic, black, and even Filipino are far more likely to be successful. So while I would love to do any music I do have my eyes set on k-pop but realistically even though the chances are super small I still somehow have a better shot in that then I will at pop here in my own country. Edit: This is why I'm not a fan of non-East Asians going into the k-pop industry. I know it seems unfair, but the reality is we have it just as hard trying to break it into any other music industry. Please let us have this ONE thing...
@@niiwii Honestly, since you're Thai and Mongolian I'd be fine with it. Southeast Asians and Northeast Asians I honestly am fine with because they too are excluded from Western music. Although it may be harder since being Thai and Mongolian might not fit the beauty standards I'm not going to dislike that or anything.
Thank you for this advice. I'm actually a natural singer and really loves music so much so I'm planning to join online audition and wanted to be a singer. This really helps me and thank you for motivating me🥺💜
I auditioned for YG and someone called after my audition while others were still auditioning and was asking about me, I heard the judges say my name while looking at my papers and looking at me, they literally wanted to give me the phone call so I can talk to the person on the the phone, but they started talking in Korean out of nowhere, Idk what happened but I didn’t pass. I don’t know if it was my ethnicity (non-Asian) which is most likely or because I couldn’t understand them and they gave up, but they looked too hyped to just be that so is most likely because they looked at my papers and found out I wasn’t Asian. So even if they really like you, you might not pass if you are non-asian.
Valeria Zuniga maybe true for the big companies but small companies won’t pass on non Asians, I’m proof of that as well as others. Actually I recently spoke about JYP hinting he’s looking at the USA and Mexico for groups. It’s totally possible you just have to try out and see what happens. GL!!
allysseTV yeah I heard that too and also SM but I’m too old to audition now lol, even though I look like a 14 year old I am 22 which is too old for the kpop industry, I have better chances in the US lol
Next year I’m going to Korea to audition..also I probably going to 3 companies (JYP, StarShip and Top Media). However my friends told me that if I’m trainee I have to go to Seoul Performing Arts High School because my parents want me to finish high school (where I live) but I don’t...so I decided to go where idols go to or I probably go to different school in Korea. (Idk what else I should said..)
Hann Well if have performing arts school in your area you should also dance, Sing and Rap. But If you have dance classes and singing classes (you should probably do that first). However whatever you want to do is your choice.. Also if you want to finish school you have time to do dance classes and singing classes. For me I would do dancing classes and singing classes than finish school. (Sorry if you don’t understand what I mean because my grammar is bad..)
Uh i was born with a talent of dancing, and had been dancing since i was 3. Didn't take any dancing lessons, didn't know what those "basics" are. But i don't really relay on countings, it's really good to just feel the beat and dance to it. Just basically sharing my side, and now that i'm 15, in those years that i performed a dance with just me learning it by myself, people loved my performance. Just a tip, you don't actually need those lessons, you just have to move and be one with the music. It works for me, just my opinion🥰❤

You can do it baby girl :D
Also if you decide to do all or some of these things let me know so I can check you out. I'll be your first official fan ^^
I'm rooting for you!! You can do it !! Remember us when you are famous 💕💕😀
Same I am also a foreigner I hope I make it
I think there is another basic thing we have to worry and know is “our ages” 😭😭😭

Audition at a company for their acting positions - many of the big companies take auditions globally - even for acting!
Not me being the youngest person here ❤️
I really want to audition but Im too young but I wanna start young. Im scared that going the path that I want to go on will upset my parents cause yk how Asian parents are
Totally understand you girl. Same with me😭
You’re not to young since companies prefer younger ppl may i ask how old you are??
talk to your parents about it, it may be difficult though. I have asian parents too and they told me that they want me to do medicine and nursing but I talked to them about wanting to perform on stage and how happy it makes me feel etc. also, it’s better to be younger. boa joined sm when she was 10 and jisung debuted in nct when he was 13/14. good luck :)

make sure to not dance to only kpop songs, dance to a english song or whatever other song and one that shows your skills, because kpop songs tend to be easy for fans to learn rather than dances that the youtube studio like dancers do like 1MILLION dance
Ooo hii I was wondering if you wanna be friends :3
@@itsmimii178 of course 😃
the reason why I specifically want to become an artist in the kpop industry is because the whole concept seems more realistic than just hoping to be discovered by the media. when you're a trainee you get taught everything you need to know when performing on stage etc. and it's a much safer way to make a livable income.

Same! I've been a choir member for some quite time ,,but i kinda lost my voice because of pandemic 😤
Basically patient, commitment and passion is what makes you a successful idol. And i respect that.
When Grace said "you only apply to Korean auditions" I felt that but this is the only audition that's actually giving us all a chance. There aren't many opportunities on this side of the world.

What these kpop companies go for is having that Asian look they won't accept people from West firstly because of language and then the looks also vocal and dancing skills are required but primary they go for above two things

Well said @9:00 ! You need to feel serious about being an artist and have a love and passionate drive for music.
Yes that's true whatever she said and this is what we have to go through ( in audition or in future) not only for kpop artist in dancing or in singing but for modeling , pageant , acting too :)
So be u and be confident yourself♥️
8:46 i'm glad she said this. the new generation of hyper-inspired koreaphiles are more interested in participating in the kpop dream than knowing what being a kpop artist actually is, and it comes at the expense of kpop fans. those without proper guidance end up learning the hard way, like those brave souls who debuted as kpop idols outside korea (you know who i mean). i personally don't expect kpop fans to be merciful to idols whose heads aren't in the right place when they plunge into the world of kpop.

Grace is litrally the only reason I've been songwriting for the past year:DD shes such an inspiration.

With the dance and singing thing let's remember those dance classes you haven't taken since you were 5 probably won't help you much....

He doesn't even want to hear it🥺😭💔

I'm taking these to prepare for my talent show auditions and my musical auditions
Good luck! I hope you make it, and if you ever debut anywhere in the world let me know ;)
Hey u can drop it igs accs so that we can talk abt it
Hey always here for ya bruh we can talk abt it xxx
Same. But i dont even live in US so its even harder for me.
But you will probably get a lot hate if you're non asian
