You're being very smart with your safety. I don't blame you at all for any of the precautions you take. Safety is the number one priority when living on the road
100% I'm from the UK and watch several canal boating channels, their videos are always a few weeks behind their last known location for this exact reason, A few of them have been targeted in the past for giving this information out it's a shame when there just trying to do what they love

I got such bad food poisoning from a Qdoba where I live that I ended up in the ER, certain I was having a gall bladder attack, pancreatitis, or possibly just dying. Was supposed to fly out to CA the next day for a convention and missed it. I know that could happen anywhere, not particularly blaming them, but I shudder just THINKING about eating there now lol Staying overnight in the airport parking lot of the place you're flying out of sounds SO convenient! When I did travel nursing, I loved the adventure of it but got so lonely. My son came out to visit me, and I will never forget hugging him at the train station, goodbye all set, then just having to grab him again for another hug. Thought my heart was going to break. Went home to my empty apartment and was just as sad as I could possibly be for the next couple of days. It's a hard balance. It's not all awful, for sure. Most of it is pretty awesome. But I so understand that loneliness and missing those you love.
You are right about not disclosing your real time location. No other vloggers do that. I hope you have protection for emergencies.

You should really invest a couple bucks into TSA pre check with how often you fly home. Game changer for all the airport headache

Hey Ryan - love your channel. Just an airport tip. I’ve seen in a couple of your videos you leave your parking ticket in the van when you are at the airport. I’d suggest keeping it with your keys in your backpack. I used to leave my ticket on the dash so I didn’t lose it when I flew on trips. Someone stole my car and just paid the parking and left. The police said always take the ticket - then if car stolen, they usually have to jump through a lot more hoops exiting the lot. I think they stole my car because I made it pretty easy by leaving the ticket behind. Anyways- just a tip - learn from my mistake….. loved that car too….

I don’t blame you for not telling us where you are exactly when you are there because people are weird and your safety is what matters the most!!!!! You can definitely tell us about the places you’ve been after you leave. And I understand that it’s totally different being on the road without your loved ones even though we are there with you ☺️ but it’s still a different experience. But again, I really enjoy watching your videos and I know other people do too!!!!! So please keep them coming no matter if you’re on the road or setting up your little house that you’re thinking about getting etc…

Next time you fly out of Vegas. You can park in terminal 3 and go through security there and take the red train to the D gates then take the blue train over to terminal 1 and still be past TSA to head your gate in the future

Las Vegas is so expensive nowdays. When my Husband and I went we stayed at a nice hotel who not only charge for parking they let us know that gratuities were expected. We saw one server inside the casino the whole time we were there. Ugh
There are still bargains in Vegas you just have to do your homework, avoid Holidays and not go to the flashiest resorts. How much time do you spend in your room? Last time I was there I actually walked from the airport to my hotel. Also there is a Dollar rent a car 1.3 mile walk from airport that doesn't charge airport fees. Yeah, I am cheap.

Back when I was traveling around the country in my van, I have to admit I was very dumb and naïve sharing out my location. I found it to be very uncomfortable a few times, so I decided it would be wise not to do that anymore… life on the road was a lot more pleasant. Enjoy your adventure, travel smart and safe.

Very smart with your safety. Others should take heed when traveling. I knew a young lady in her early twenties that just bought a brand new shiny red Mustang. She traveled from Connecticut to Maryland. Every bit of the way she allowed tracking on social media and popped on to let everyone know her next rest area. This could have been tragic but as she pulled into the parking lot a low life was waiting for her. He blocked her in and he was not aware she was filming live! Someone in the parking lot was watching and help was rendered to her. He had already pulled her out of the car. When she arrived in Maryland her Dad gave her a huge lecture. Individual was arrested. Oh yeah she lost the privelage of her car for two weeks and her older brother had to go with her every where.
If she bought the car how could she lose privilege for 2 weeks? Sounds like daddy bought it for his little girl. Why give a hot car to an immature person?
Can never be too safe. No reason for you to explain why you don't give your current location. It's common sense. Glad you were able to see family, friends and your girl friend. Don't over think the fact you don't let anyone know where you are, you live in the US and safety is your top priority especially when traveling alone. People don't need to know exactly where you are, plus you pretty much cover where you are, and what to check out while traveling.
i think it's really rad that you didn't spend a ton of time on your trip back filming and really used the time to enjoy your time with everyone

Ryan!! Go to the Venetian on the strip , free parking incase you wanna get closer but it is Free and great location
There is plenty of free parking on and near the strip, very few where vans will fit. (Rio you have to in the out and stay on the ground level.) But there is no parking closer to the airport than AT the airport.

As a information technology student, not sharing your information in general is paramount for safety. Also, it ain’t anyone’s concern to know where you are unless you yourself want people to know where you are.

If you fly often enough you might want to look into either TSA pre check or Global entry. You can keep your shoes on , laptop doesn't have to be looked at, belt stays on etc just a little easier for you. As for your key, you might want to first place it into a snack or sandwich sized ziplock, it helps protect it against fluids but if the backpack gets torn where your key is the baggie gives it just a bit more chance that it stays in the backpack pouch and doesn't fish its way out of a hole.. and if it does fall out into a rain puddle with luck it's protected.
