Hey Ryan just an idea that wall behind your couch sitting area. You should put a map and draw a line of where you started to where you are. Like keep progressing along. It would be cool to see the distance drawn on a map.
Hey Ryan, we live 30 minutes from the last takeout from the Grand Canyon.. Pearce Ferry. Because of an extreme dog leg, right it is no longer possible to raft into Lake Mead. In the parking lot you can walk down and look at the juggernaut. It's an easy hike, and a view from the Meadview airport up above is stunning. Also, nearby is the Grand Canyon West skywalk. And if you need a place to park, we've got a couple acres, and I make really good bread. Love to show you some excellent recipes to make on the road.
Mystic Mike seems like an extremely wise man. I find a ton of value in his life principles. I actually had adopted those exact same principles, almost identically, in my own life over the past couple years. Cool to see another person who shares those secrets of life.
Glad you are delaying the trip to Alaska. The summers there are spectacular. How about heading to Mt. Rushmore? When I was a kid, my family went there and also went splunking at a nearby cave system -- probably Mount Rushmore Area Caves - Jewel Cave or Wind Cave.
yeah there are some fun cave systems out in the Mt. Rushmore area of the Black Hills, plus you've got the Badlands right there which are scenery to drive through
So much to see and do around Rapid City! Deadwood, Hill City (Check our Alpine Inn while there) Sturgis, Mammoth Cave, Dinosaur park which was a WPA project, The cosmos which is near Mt Rushmore. Lots to see and do in the area. The Black Hills are amazing 😊 We were just at Mystic hot spring last week. It was about 22 degrees when we walked up and about 45 when we got out. We weren’t cold and relaxed and rejuvenated. Best part of our spring break vacation with our son and 3 kids💕
Lost my Sis and Dad in the past 6 years. Your videos for someone reason gives me peace and allows my brain to chill. Just wanted to say thank you man. Keep up the great vids
Aloha - Nothing wrong with the change in plans. You’re the navigator, you’re the pilot….where you go, we go. I like the new concept of “come what may” & the possibility of doing interviews with people you meet along the way on your adventures of the many places our beautiful country has to offer. Safe travels…
Meeting people and seeing local things is a great way to enhance the experience! As we travel, we visit a local brewery and get a coaster for our collection, visit a local restaurant (suggested by someone we met in the area), hit a local park or monument, and get a geocache!
Kind of far, but the Lava Bed National Monument is pretty amazing in California. You can hike through all sorts of lava tube caves and it’s a beautiful area. I went there when I was a kid and it left a big impression on me; would be fun to see you hiking the caves.
Loved when you submerged in the tub "That's just my shorts" Lol! rewind 3 X's on that one 😂Meal looked fantastic! Here's what I was pleased with most...You postponing the trip to Alaska, yes that would be interesting to see. Always better to travel with another van life person(s) or group to help each other out in possible dire circumstances. Right from the time you announced you were going, I felt a certain dread that something wasn't right with that. So relieved that plans were changed (a good thing). Always follow your gut no matter what. For those cold floors? Purchase a long runner rug with non skid backing, that may help. Stay Safe Out There!
Leavenworth,WA is pretty cool to check out. The town is modeled after an old Bavarian German village. Red rocks in CO is very nice and the gorge amphitheater. If your looking to meet people on the road you should look for a music festival to camp/ go to with the van. EDC in vegas is like a month away i wanna say. If your into disc golf at all, theres about a trillion beautiful spots to stop all over the u.s. Excited to see where you decide to go next!
Crystal hot springs an hour north of Salt Lake is fun too, there's a slide into the pools that I got my cardio in for the day going up and down the stairs
Last year from the span of mid March to late April I drove from SLC, to the Salt flats, down to Ely Nevada to drive the "loneliest road in America" all the way to Reno, to lake Tahoe, San Francisco, then north up to the pnw. Didn't have any trouble weather wise. If you're heading in that relative direction you should be great. If you haven't seen the Bonneville salt flats in Utah I reccomend it, the hwy 50 road across Nevada was cool as well
The trip from wendover south to Ely and "loneliest road" to Tahoe would be a good trip. Edit: oops this upload was weeks ago - my input too late to be considered. Still, that is a good trip I have done. Ely, Nevada is a fun little mining town.
@debbieashton4976 leaving Wendover I didn't have huge expectations but was surprised at how pretty hwy 50 is and how many cool little places there are to stop and check out. Definitely one of those "must drives" in America
Hey Ryan. You’re the best. You should go to Moab Utah and explore Arches National Park and go 4x4 off roading in a quad. Also check out the restraint at the main hotel and the desert bistro. I love where you are taking your UA-cam channel.
I need to check that place out! Green River is just east of that area and I visited there a few times as a kid since my mom's grandma lived there for a long time, and now a different family member lives in the old house she used to. They do a watermelon festival there every year as well.
You made my day, when you went in that hot tub. I couldn't stop laughing at your expression. I am glad you having a blast. Thank You Ryan for showing your journeys to your subscribers. 😂🙏☺️
California redwoods. Take some good shots of your van and it's just a beautiful place to be. I live in the East Coast but I've been to the California redwoods once and it's gorgeous head more West. And maybe see what Northern California Oregon and Washington hold.
If you are wanting to head south again, hit the Phoenix area and sign up for your first pickleball lesson! It's such a fun social sport and would be an easy way for you to connect with people along your travels. You'd get exercise, have fun and meet an amazing community! If you feel like heading to Colorado, come to Colorado Springs and I'll hook you up with the lessons!!
Hi, Ryan! Have you thought about getting a runner for your van? That way you don't have to walk on the cold floor, and you can easily sweep it off. Safe Travels🙏🏾
Lots to do in AZ, NV, CA. Glamis Dunes, Death Valley CA. An Epic trip is the PCH north from pretty much anywhere in So Cal, go through Big Sur, Hearst castle, Carmel, Monterey, Cannery Row, Santa Cruz, Pismo Beach, Solvang, San Luis Obispo, wine country, San Fran, Alcatraz, and on. Its an awesome trip, take it slow as you want.
Me and my wife have been there. It's a great place. A very unique area in a spot you wouldn't expect. We got there at sunset. it was Epic; I'm glad you got to experience that as well!
My suggestion would be Red River Gorge in Slade, KY! It's such a beautifully aged area. It has some amazing hiking trails as well. It's tradition to stop by Miguel's Pizza and grab an Ale-8 to drink! Also it's perfect for vanlifers!
Hey Ryan, love your videos man! I think it would be awesome if you could come visit Albuquerque, New Mexico, because there's a ton of history here and soooo many different places and things to see. There's also a lot of local restaurants that have amazing food and are very well known. You could probably see everything you wanted to in 2 days or less
Hi Ryan, Glad to see you taking the time to interview interesting people along the way of your travels. This really adds dimension to your channel. Love the format of that! Big props. Stay safe out there!
Have you tried putting rubber o-rings around some of the bars on the top grill part of your stove. Using those as dampers instead of the easily meltable Matt? Also, I'm enjoying your videos. The van life reality video got me.
I’m new to your channel and just wanted to say love the content. Went back and watched all of your videos. Amazing! Keep up the great work! I was station in Colorado Springs when I was in the army and loved it. The natural beauty all over that state is amazing. Hiking and camping! Just a idea. Btw your definitely blessed and living the dream on your van life journey! While all of us are watching your videos and dreaming of this life we wished we had…your living it. I’m grateful to watch and be apart of it. Keep up the great work and drive safe.
Love your videos ❤. So many nice places to see that I would never see or experience myself and your so good at telling about the places. These hot springs looked amazing and talking to the owner and getting to know a bit of the history about them was great. I love to see you cook and it always look so delicious 😋. It makes me wanna try to make the same dish, it makes me so hungry 😂. Love and hugs from Skagen, Denmark ❤🤗
A strange and beautiful place. It's been many years since we were there, but definitely a fond memory. It you are still around Utah--Paria canyon and Buckskin Gulch in particular might be interesting. Though to be honest there's so much natural variety across Utah--it's been a while since we were there, so maybe I've just become nostalgic. Amazing travels Ryan!
Ryan, please do option 2. Give u more time spending in Alberta Canada. Banff national park is beautiful and drive on ice field highway through Banff and jasper national park is stunning. Besides that visit Calgary stampede is also a great experience for west world and cowboy culture. Love your videos. Alberta welcomes you ❤
wow! ive been watching you for a while now and never thought i would see my OWN HOME TOWN in one of your videos. Grew up in Richfield for 16 years lol. Im happy you got to see the Mystic hot springs!!
I love watching The Vampire diaries and it would be so cool if you visited Covington Georgia where it was filmed and show the buildings / homes that was used in the show. Just idea love your videos 😜 thx keep em coming 😌
Ryan - If you don't mind I would love a video where you go into depth about your van. Not how you built it and the living area and amenities and all that - there are already videos on that topic on your channel, and I've watched them all! lol - but rather a video about how the van has served you as a vehicle, as a machine. Things like what's the mileage and range with all the weight you've added by turning it into an RV? Reliability, maintenance and repairs? Insurance cost? Seat comfort and noise fatigue for long drives? What are some things you genuinely appreciate about it as a vehicle, and what are some things that you don't like? You know, practical vehicle-centric things like that. I think it would be a very interesting video for all of us who are considering giving this lifestyle a go in the future.
Hey I just got a 2007 Nissan XTerra and I'm converting it to live in. I'm going to be more localized as I work. I just wanted to say thanks for your videos. Although I've been inspired by multiple sources over the last decade, binge watching you in the last 6 months has really pushed me forward. Keep on rolling!
You don't have to go now but if you are ever back east near Michigan (especially in the spring/summer) you should check it out. There are some nice places in northern Michigan that more people should be aware of. Literally my childhood. The Sleeping Bear Dunes, Silver Lake, Indian River with the Cross in the Woods (me and my fam would camp at Burt Lake almost every year. There was once a mini golf not to far from it with a real stuffed bear in glass was on display but I think its since been taken down), Traverse City also known as the cherry city. Best cherry flavored anything in the country! Plus the Lake (Traverse Bay leading into Lake Michigan) feels like an ocean from that area. Its a unique experience. And then of course if you go further north you got Mackinac Island and The Soo Locks at Sault Ste Marie in the UP.
Mystic Mike knows what's happening. Mindfulness is where it all begins. This will sound random but read The Inner Game of Tennis. Even if you don't play tennis, it is a good primer on mindfulness and how to live your life in the here and now. If you want to learn how to be "present" and "intentional," mindfulness is for you.
Brave of you to connect with the people you don't know. I agree that the people help make the journey. I'm usually too nervous to speak up, but I have on occasion and it made for great experiences. Also, thanks for the cooking lesson. I love those types of wraps with water chestnuts. Yum 😁
Glad you set the expectations that the rice may not dry out the airpods, it won't help but won't hurt either. The best thing to do for electronics is find some distilled water, not bottled water, distilled. Give them a good soak/rinse and then let them air out for about 3 days before charging or using them. Hope for the best then charge and give them a try.
man ryan i love these sorts of videos, showing us things we can see in the US i would really love to go see this stuff. build is most of the way done and ill be on the road soon
Custom strip of carpet would work to keep feet warm and also keep original flooring cleaner, and then every few days you can take the rug or carpet strip outside and clean it and good to go
I would wait until the weather warms up before going to Alaska. Then take I-90 through South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana then decide from there. You won't regret it. Plenty of great places along that route.
I went on a birding trip to Colorado. We went to Pawnee grasslands and ate breakfast at this little market in Grover Colorado. The guy there whipped us up a bunch of breakfast burritos. It’s such a cool area with really nice people. Maybe not a van camp paradise but it’s beautiful anyway.
Howdy Ryan, For the comfort of your little piggies put down a piece of 3/4 inch foam insulation and cover with a rug cut to fit the space! Instant warmth for the feet! All available at Home Depot.
Dinner is very healthy. I love the ideas that you come up with cooking and some pretty elegant dishes. Think about a book with the stops you have made and interesting food from there that inspired you.
Ryan, you should definitely head west and check out the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. It's on the Pacific Coast, and its absolutely amazing!
I don't know if you want to back track but you should ho to the Iowa 80 truck stops it has musam of old truck and has a lot of eating areas even a buffet. Love your videos
There is land in south Saratoga Springs Ut. You'll be surrounded by snow capped mountains and have a great view of Utah Lake. Also, about 50 mins from Brighton to go snow boarding.
Lol I rock like 5 of that exact rubber mat. They are cheap and work great. Takes couple days for them to "off gas" but otherwise no complaints. I have 2 front cab of promaster and 3 in front section by sliding door it makes massive difference when it comes to dirt getting into van.
Really enjoyed that conversation with Mike. It resonated a lot with some of my personal struggles that I haven’t been able to articulate to myself. Thank you for sharing and keep making this adventure your own Ryan!
If you end up in SoCal/Central Coast again I highly recommend paying a visit to Santa Barbara. Such a great place and the van life /camper scene is big in this area.
Go to Goldon CO, there is a great little RV and Van park near Clear Creek Canyon, right on the creek with a great hiking and walking trail. The Area is supposed to have good weather until about Thursday. Love your videos man, theyre so inspiring.
my solution to cold RV floors - Hospital socks. They have grip but still fit nice and loose. Suprisingly comfy. Granted, you have to go to the hospital to get some - but stock up on em if you do. ;)
Kingman AZ has beautiful scenery, cool museums, and an awesome diner (Mr D'z Route 66 Diner)! + JJ's tacos and burgers has really homemade food and awesome breakfast burritos!
If you come back through AZ you should check out Tonto Natural Bridge and the Mogollon Rim (Payson area) and then if you go to Sedona check out Oak Creek Canyon. Those are my favorite spots here in AZ ❤
Hey Ryan just an idea that wall behind your couch sitting area. You should put a map and draw a line of where you started to where you are. Like keep progressing along. It would be cool to see the distance drawn on a map.
Good idea
Yeah I like that man Good post
Thats such a good idea, if anyone has any ideas where i can get a nice map that matches the van
Definitely need to get that map 🤗
Great idea. Try looking for a map at a visitor center or truck stop.

Never feel lonely... you got more eyeballs on what you are doing than almost anyone... we are all your passengers
The interview with the guy, and people in general, are so interesting! huge W

you have inspired me to start van life someday your content is so chill and enjoyable 🔥🔥
Montana, Glacier National Park, Going to the Sun Road. Breathtakingly beautiful at the top. Enjoying traveling America with you!
Bryce Canyon seems like a cool place in the winter
I really love the cooking part😂 Gordon Ramsey would be proud 🤝
the way that i just genuinely smile when you upload, one day i want to live like you
Have you tried putting rubber o-rings around some of the bars on the top grill part of your stove. Using those as dampers instead of the easily meltable Matt?
Also, I'm enjoying your videos. The van life reality video got me.
Mystic Mike and his hot springs are giving off major Garden State vibes and I'm about it. 🤙🏻
Been to that hot springs when there was snow. Such a great time! Thanks for sharing!
Head EAST! Check out the towns and places that no one goes too, the little hidden gems in America
I believe you should check out Lake Tahoe if you're headed towards Nevada/California. One of the most beautiful sights

Oh wow! Been watching your old videos and managed to catch a new one!!
Brave of you to connect with the people you don't know. I agree that the people help make the journey. I'm usually too nervous to speak up, but I have on occasion and it made for great experiences. Also, thanks for the cooking lesson. I love those types of wraps with water chestnuts. Yum 😁

Antelope Canyon, Joshua Tree NP (cactus garden), Snake River Canyon & South Lake Tahoe area.
Also as an aside - instead of using the cabinet liner material for sound dampening - try a grill mat. they can handle the heat - so no more waiting.
Howdy Ryan, For the comfort of your little piggies put down a piece of 3/4 inch foam insulation and cover with a rug cut to fit the space! Instant warmth for the feet! All available at Home Depot.
I like that you are so creative with your meals. Honestly, I could eat anything you make!
Thanks… Loved Mystic Mike!
I'm back lol I'll be continuing watching your journey from here to the latest videos.
Bad Lands. Amazing ✌🏼

Keep up the grind !!
Definitely should check out Stanley idaho and red fish lake. It’s beautiful if it’s not out your way
If you end up in SoCal/Central Coast again I highly recommend paying a visit to Santa Barbara.
Colorado Springs and more specifically, The Garden of the Gods! Maybe even head up to Pikes Peak if you have time!
Love the interview! Awesome. Well done.
If you come back through AZ you should check out Tonto Natural Bridge and the Mogollon Rim (Payson area) and then if you go to Sedona check out Oak Creek Canyon. Those are my favorite spots here in AZ ❤
Travel the Pacific Coast Highway, go from San Diego up to Oregon!!!!
The look on your face when getting in the hot spring was hilarious, made me not want to go lol
Hey Ryan great video. memories are made by the places and people. safe travels
By the way have watched each and every one of your videos. 70 year old living vicariously through your travels. Be Safe.
