    Also something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt.

      Mighty Car Mods I’m doing a similar style of restomod to my 85 Celica, using the exact same Aeromotive phantom fuel pump kit. I’m also going to have the car engineered. Would you be able to share what you are going to do with the fuel tank vent? I assume you’ll need to have a charcoal canister setup?

    • @K1lostream
      @K1lostream 6 років тому +35

      Mr.Mister - No, they're not the same as the garden centre gloves because the MCM ones are made from woven unicorn pubes, which are resistant to unwanted penetration whilst still allowing a good feel. That is important whether you're working on your car, or you're down on your knees, vigorously tugging at a straggly bush.

      Unfortunately the Mighty Car Mods logo was worn off my gloves before 10 o’clock coffee break at the shop, might be better for trimming bushes.

      Invincible Extremes Muscle Cars Garage what are you doing for a rear diff in yours? I have a project 260z with a turbo ls1 and am looking into an 8.8 but that’s an expensive diff swap lol

    • @InvincibleExtremes
      @InvincibleExtremes 6 років тому +2

      Shawn Hacker it WAS an expensive diff swap. What if i told you i have 5 lug 13.2 inch front disc, 11.8 rear disc, 4 corner coilovers, a limited slip 3.31 geared 34 spline super 8.8 and cut down 2015 mustang cv axles and made in USA timken bolt on hubs... all I'm in the whole thing for only $1,950.... granted thats not including my diff mount and suspension knuckles, but i promise you they will be competitive in pricing and they are hands down the best design out there.
      find my Facebook page and contact me and I'd be glad to show you what I'm building. I'll have a video out soon

    That fanshroud is pretty bad actually. It blocks lots of air while driving. Put some holes in there with rubber flaps so that air can pass trough while driving and gets blocked off when standing still and the fan is sucking air

    • @skidlover6071
      @skidlover6071 6 років тому

      GeenIdee2 doesn't the fan shroud go in the back of the rad tho

    • @GeenIdee2
      @GeenIdee2 6 років тому +5

      It sits behind the rad if that's what you mean. But air does not flow through the radiator, if it has nowhere to go after it. You've got high pressure in front of the rad, what means that the lower the pressure behind the rad is, the better the air will go through and thus better cooling. Blocking off the rear of the rad (in this case about 40% with this fan shroud design) will make it less sufficient. I my opinion not something you want with this project.

    • @diesel92kj1
      @diesel92kj1 6 років тому +1

      No need, millions of factory vehicles have shrouds like this. In fact lots of Engine have the exhaust manifolds bellow the intake manifold but if it was the other way round it would be way more cooler due to heat rising. Short answer is you could make it better but it works lol.

    • @GeenIdee2
      @GeenIdee2 6 років тому +2

      Those factory shrouds have holes with flaps over them so it can let some air through. I have seen this even with shrouds that have 2 fans on them

    • @vk2aafhamradio
      @vk2aafhamradio 6 років тому +11

      @Geenidee2 That fan shroud is pretty great, actually. When driving, the area of the fan, even without the fan running, is plenty of area to cool the engine. If you're romping on it or are at a standstill, the fan kicks on and pulls air across the entire surface of the radiator- mind that the shroud stands the fan about 25mm off the radiator.
      Without the shroud, the fan would have to be right on the surface of the radiator core and would only be able to pull air through over an area equal to the size of the fan. When you get blades close to a core, it's noisy as hell, too. The shroud is absolutely necessary.
      Or, you could go tell Al that he doesn't know WTF he's doing & pray you don't get killed from the side-eye.

    The first time I ever worked on an engine with gloves. It was fully disassembled and i was removing a bolt. "I bet i can get better grip if i remove these" So I took them off. IMMEDIATELY, the bolt broke loose, and i scraped my fingers just above my knuckles on the sharp corner of the engine and peeled some skin off. THE GLOVE LITERALLY HAD A PROTECTIVE SECTION IN THAT AREA JUST FOR THAT. Needless to say, buying these gloves lul.

    Didn't you learn anything from that show from a decade ago and paint that intercooler black?

    • @RWoody1995
      @RWoody1995 6 років тому

      Well, they learned that being black just makes it better while sitting still and that once air is being forced through it as you drive along black or not black perform the same.

    • @Babarudra
      @Babarudra 6 років тому

      So when stuck in traffic, I'd rather have the black one.

    • @RWoody1995
      @RWoody1995 6 років тому +2

      how often are you stuck in traffic producing maximum boost?
      ...or any for that matter lol

    • @Babarudra
      @Babarudra 6 років тому

      rarely, but the air coming off of a turbo in stop and go traffic gets hot to. Not as hot as max boost, but reducing heat is always better than not.

    Love the builds and the resultant cars HOWEVER - I do notice that the items you unpack reveal the HUGE amount of PLASTIC and EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE packaging that is shipped across the world every day. Given that your first videos were on the subject of small environmentally "green" cars - it would be great if you investigated the impact your waste has and sought to look at recycling both discarded car parts and criticised manufacturers that do not use bio-degradable packaging like corn-based packing chips and paper rather than plastic bubble wrap.
