That intro LOL that's why I stopped keeping geckos, after getting lizards that I can actually interact with it was way too noticeable that there's not much behind those gecko eyes but elevator music. Really happy to see quince monitors getting some recognition, they're so cool!
Dakota, you're awesome. So informative and fun to listen to. Thank you for your videos. I am new to reptiles... got a Beardy a year ago and we love her so much. Cheers!
Water monitors are awesome. We got ours a soft harness to take outside in the summer. He's curious, likes to interact, and climb. They poop alot though, gotta keep enclosure clean
Loving the Argus Monitor! Looking for something big but manageable, like a Tegu. How would you compare the personality/interactions with monitors to Tegus?
From my personal experience, I'd say Tegus are a lot more outgoing and chill compared to Monitor Lizards. I've worked with different Tegus and Monitor species, but it was a lot easier to work with and tame down a Tegu, compared to Monitor species.
I totally agree with the list. The Argus is the only one I may not suggest for anyone but the experienced keeper. That attitude! I have water monitors, and ackies. Also a black throat which can def be a puppy dog tame lizard but also carries one hell of a smack with that tail. Yes, I know from experience. Like getting punched in the head. Love the video my friend!
If I only had one reptile before and it is a created gecko but trying to decide between a rankin dragon or ackie monitor, which would be the best? I am married and have 2 little kids. I expect this does make a difference.
Asian Water monitor are giant , cute and adorable. The largest locality of asian water monitors are the second biggest lizard species. The heaviest pet lizards that can be legally owned in the usa.
One time I saw a short of either a black throat or a Argus monitor, It walked into the kitchen and lifted its tail, And I swear I’ve seen dogs that pooped less, it was a mixture of pee and poop chunks all in the liquid form.
Australian Monitors are easily the best monitors. Australia being the epicenter of monitor evolution. If I wanted a big monitor I would get a Lacy. The Odatria are the best monitors for pets. Kimberly Rock, Mulga, and Ackies being the best.
"and thats a bearded dragon" lmao Brilliant. I wish you would make more monitor videos. Croc monitors are my favorite reptiles in general. Next is asian water monitor. (I have 2 of them. The female turned into a bitch when i out her in her big enclosure. BUT, its only IN he enclosire. When i get her out, shes sweet. I walk with her in the woods without a leash. One time I even walked off about 20+30 yards to see what she would do. She sat there and watched me until I came back to her and started walking again. I have a video on here to prove it. But once she back im her home, she wants nithing to with me and ouffs up, whips and ive even been but but just lightly touching her. Shes a year and a hald old and only mabue two and a half feet.) and next up are the black throat. Those 3 are my favorites. There is an Australian one i love but i dont remember the name. I think perentine or somthing like that?
I have questions about Chinese water dragons. I seen one and wanted it but at the same time, I’m slightly scared cause I’ve always been scared of reptiles but a few are cool. Any advice for me
My Dad owned a few of these. What is ur experience owning reptiles? These can be very hard lizards to keep because they constantly get sick and have kidney issues. I’d you do decide to get one, I’d recommend getting a good water filtration system and never fall behind at keeping that tank clean.
They are not for beginners at all. If you are a little on edge with reptiles and want a lizard than get a bearded dragon because they are potatoes that will let you hold all day. Water dragons will need a super expensive arboreal enclosure with a mini pond
I would love to have an Asian water monitor but watching Kenan and many others they deserve an ezlarge outside enclosure or inside if you have a basement or extra room not being used. . I might look into a smaller type someday when I know I can take care of it for many years.
I want them all. For sure a black throat and an argus. But I would totally love to have them all. I remember when I had niles. Dicks. But you can tame them down but it is hard and you may need stitches more then once, but hey it is do able. I love watching your channel and chatting with you it among others on youtube have gotten my big lizard hobby going again.
A green tree monitor is our dream reptile. We actually "had" one at one point, after paying for it it turned out to be a scam and lost all money on it.
I'd prob trade white throats for tree monitors, but idk cuz white throats are fucking rad. I just can't have a list of monitors and not include trees lol

I want a nile monitor even though they have aggressive attitudes. I am going to get a nile monitor and take wonderful care of him.
Thank you!

Quince monitors RULE!!!!!!!❤
Never spoke on the size of a quince monitor
I have the pinnacle animal and will train it to eat anyone who doesn’t watch DBCB exotics
A true Dbcb exotics mvp 😎

Argus for the win
Argus!!! And Akies. Are my winners! 🏆 😍 mmmm white throat you say? 🤔 need to think on this..ok sold on one of those too lol
We will compromise and say just get all 5 😂
I've heard black throats are super laid back too

Quince is a great alternative to awd. I call them the mini water monitors
❤

Big lizards are the best to keep hands down... Except the cleaning poop part
What about the savannah monitor?
Well when you mention monitors you know your boy is watching!!!
Its always a good day when we talk about monitor lizards
@@Dakotahblueexotics also hope the new grind is going well brother. You are a CHAMP!!!

That suckss....anybody shipping worldwide is a scam. I breed trees herein the us
@@billythefxck do you have a website?

Only reason they didnt make the list for me was their skittish nature. They tend to hide a lot except greens, which seem to be a little more brave
my friend got his son one of these it only cost his son 2 fingers yes they are great to have .
I want a asian water monitor
Storri are better than Ackies
You may have a point
Why did you leave mangrove monitors out? Just wondering. My favorite so far, it's just a no touch pet.
Wow seems ALOT like the other guy who makes BEST reptile ......but it is a Wicked idea........
