I was raised 50 miles south of the Canadian border in NE Montana. My friends and I listened to CHAB radio out of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. My musical radio listening experience in the 1970's included many Canadian bands. Trooper has one of the best male voices ever! Love the intro.

Maybe they are territorial on how the songs are used. I heard that one of Madonna's Employees had to fly to Europe and ask Benny Anderson & Bjorn Ulvaeus for permission to sample "Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie" for her Song Hung Up. They agreed but they were the lucky ones. Doesn't the Organ part remind you of "White Shade Of Pale" By Procol Harum.
Too bad that Ra & Brian didn't have this song put into a movie or in a tv drama back in the 80s even ... it's still a timeless classic .! Used to hear it off & on AM stations (& AOR occasionally as a deep track ) , was amazed it didnt chart to Top 10 here in Canada ! Would be even great to use today ..

Actually, it has been. Trooper gave me permission to utilize this song in a novel I wrote called “Sydney’s Promise”. The song acts as an inanimate character throughout the prose and it provides a pathway to the climax at the end of the novel.

Bout 30 years ago I was at Halifax airport waiting to pick up a friend. Some guys were talking and horsing around 20 ft away. I watched them as they were funny. I suddenly recognized the lead singer of Trooper. He was the one having the most fun. TO THIS DAY I regret not summoning the courage to say hello. Fast forward 25 years. Trooper was doing an afternoon show at the CNE in Toronto. We were at the concert with our younger daughter (at the time she was 25) and she went head over heels for Trooper. What a grest show. Thx guys!

Even the media agreed and constantly reminded us that 70's was the drabbest decade of all time. But I disagree. Sexual revolution was tapering off, common sense was coming back. It was good time to be young.

Seen Trooper when i was 14 back in 1981. They played the Windsor hotel here in Red Deer afew times after. That's when music took a dive and alot of the talent had to survive being club bands. I still remember that night in 81❤

A special guy bought this 45 for me. I ended up breaking his heart then. Too young to settle down and just got out of a relationship. I got back with him 8 years later and I am still with him today. Not the best relationship as he is broken. I think I saw it back then but then had a blind eye 8 years later. I thought I could show him, but he as to know how to get there by himself.

I saw Trooper live at the Lincoln Theater in Port Angeles Washington, it was their first American gig, Juggernaut from Seattle and Rail a company opened for them! It was a total knock out for this high school kid back then!!
I have seen Trooper many times and always a great show. The last time I saw them was at Lulu's in Kitchener Ont. They were doing autographs and I had nothing for them to sign but ticket stubs so Ray said how about we sign your jean jacket. I still have that jacket it is a very cool piece of memoribilia for me.

This is one of my favorite songs. I had no idea it was released in 1977. I was just 8 years old. Lots of great memories living in downtown Toronto in the late 70's and 80's. Trooper is a great band with a ton of hits including, "We're Here for a Good Time", The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car, Three Dressed up as a 9, Round Round we go, Raise a Little Hell, etc.....

This is one of my favorite songs. I had no idea it was released in 1977. I was just 8 years old.
Lots of great memories living in downtown Toronto in the late 70's and 80's.
Trooper is a great band with a ton of hits including, "We're Here for a Good Time", The Boys in the Bright White Sports Car, Three Dressed up as a 9, Round Round we go, Raise a Little Hell, etc.....
I love this song. I was a teenager when this came out.

First i heard this Song, 1979 in slow rock cassette tape, its a memorable song while im listening, i' remembered all Pretty Ladies i' been met in my life.
