I was lucky enough to be born in one of the American towns that border Canada, and even luckier that trooper performed in my little town once. Canadian rock is my soul!
Lived in North Dakota all my life and had the privilege of listening to Trooper and many other great Canadian bands on Winnipeg radio stations. Great music!
Vocals , instruments & Talent..Nothing has even come close to music from 70,s - 80,s..good music and we always knew who was in our bed. Record stores ruled outside of pool halls .Trooper Rocks on forever.
And prism run heat even though recorded in Seattle Guess who and my list just goes. I have 3 boxes of albums for sale 1k each and they all come with something special. More in those gifts than all the albums combined.
Thanks and I agree, we Canucks have had some truly AWESOME Bands....a couple newer ones that aren't too bad either but nothing like our Bands in the 70's - 80's era
Saw them in Maple Leaf Gardens, early 70's: first encore took about 5 minutes of applause, 2nd encore took about 10 minutes of applause, THEIR 3RD ENCORE TOOK ABOUT 25 MINUTES!!! I sat down at about the 15 minute mark and told my group " no way they're coming out again" BUT THEY DID " SAID WE WERE THE BEST AUDIENCE THEY HAD EVER HAD" AND PLAYED FOR ANOTHER 30 MINUTES. CHEERS
Wow! Memories or what!, back in the day (we're talking high school) weekends was roller skating at Stardust, the DJ always sent this song out to all the girls here tonight that are 13 dressed up to look 19!! I was in between somewhere!!! I'm now 51!! Still love it, like yesterday!!
Saw Trooper in 82 or 83 in a bar in Surrey, BC. It had a country bar upstairs and rock n roll downstairs. Trooper was getting chunks of the ceiling falling from the bass guitar! It was a helluva night! Love Trooper! Canadian icons...they don't make em like this no more.
Most of the music I listen to is from the seventies, my opinion the best music of all time and the majority of the band's are Canadian, the talent these bands share and the joy they have given us will live on
A well known and liked Canadian band from my youth. This song is probably my favorite by Trooper, even more than the played on the radio stations to DEATH 'Raise A Little Hell'.
Trooper was the first band I ever saw live,at a bar called Smooth Herman's in Cape Breton,Nova Scotia(Aboot 1993). I bought the ticket off a friend for three dollars, she had paid a five dollar cover for it. Until the internet came along,it was the best musical bargain I'd had.
Not only did Canadian bands write great songs and record/perform them . Kudos to the folks in the recording booth for putting it all together . Hail to Little Mountain Sound And Mushroom Studios
I don't think I ever knew this song as a kid, but I'm really enjoying it now! Also, when I started hearing this on the radio, I learned who sang it. Shortly after, I couldn't remember if it was Trooper or Chicago...
Yes one of the best bands playing! They made a song for Prince Rupert & and another for a fishing boat that took out fishing out of Prince Rupert British Columbia, Canada
exactly.... and conforming to expectations. supertramp and heart are two examples of american bands that were ignored until they played in canada and became immediatly popular, then they could not be ignored.
I'm in a bar right now with a work-mate from Germany. The waitress is good looking from afar but far from good looking. I called her a 3 dressed up as a 9... he asked me to explain this phrase, so I played him this video/song. He can't stop laughing and keeps singing it whenever she's in sight. He's emphasizing the nine as NEIN (German for NO) It's only a little embarrassing but a LOT hilarious !!
on the trans-canada highway system headin towards Nova Scotia; had this on in the car and when we showed up at bible hill trailer park (early filming location for trailer park boys, went to see every set and place; saw moneyvale) fucking KIM MITCHELL STARTED PLAYIN AFTER THIS - "Let's get drunk, do some drugs & get some mitchell going!" - Ricky
when this song came out I was going out with this girl...the song came on...and she said that song is about you...at the time...I took it as a compliment..because i was just using her..I was wasting her time.....I will never forget it..... TROOPER.>>>>Canadian Hall Of Fame Band
Great song! Trooper, correct me if I'm wrong, are from Vancouver. I wish I was Canadian, but I have Canadian ancestry. Trooper never got much notice down here in the States, but no song can better exemplify why the 70s and classic music are better than the rubbish we have now than this song. The lyrics are so clever and Ra MacGuire has an amazing voice. I love having bands like the bands I love where I can get a shocked look from people who think that modern rubbish is anything like music. Let me make one thing clear, however, there is really good music being made that sounds like real rock and roll, but it's gone into the underground. I mean the garbage masses of people listen to and think they are cool. There are a lot of 3s dressed up as 9s!
These guys must have played every nightclub and 3000 seat hockey rink in Canada ; i saw them a few times and one night at 3;30 AM at Mr.Submarine sandwiches i met the guitarist eating a sub
I heard this song in the backseat of my dad's Chrysler, that my brothers stole to go cruising...lol...I was 10, and song was playing on an 8 track, memories of my childhood
I love this song , my fave one of theirs , anyway i would just like to say my opinion , trooper had certain songs that were so top 40 commercially great that if they would of first released out of L.A and not canada at that time they probibbly would of been alot more well known worldwide .
I was lucky enough to be born in one of the American towns that border Canada, and even luckier that trooper performed in my little town once. Canadian rock is my soul!
GREEEEeeeeEETINGZ from B.C. Canada, Home of Trooper. You are most welcome. ❤🤍💙
