**** to anyone worried about the motor sizzling, buy a $20 Holmes Hobbies 27t Trailmaster.. it has a built in fan, bearings on the output shaft and much larger magnets. I have been running this setup for 3 months and have not had any issues. (the 27t is a little slower than the 12t stock motor but also has much more torque so you get a higher top end but you can climb as well, best of both worlds)*****
@@chrisreibold1634 Any 550 motor will work in the Stampede with no issues but the stock motor is a 12 turn which means it has has a higher top speed but less climbing power. Anything from Holmes is going to be light years above the stock Traxxas stuff. I’m still using that same motor from 2 years ago, mud, snow, sand and not one replacement
The only problem with that is you should ONLY do that for short runs, or on road driving. It causes the truck to get much hotter much faster. Not a good gearing at all for even just back yard bashing. Now it will be okay to put the 23t pinion for a little more speed but again, it will get much hotter. Also running a gearing like that will shorten your motor life
THE BIGFOOT INSTRUCTIONS SAID 21T/90T WITH THIS SETUP I DO ABOUT 33 MPH WITH BERINGS ON THE TIRES NOW THIS IS RECOMMENDED BY THEM SO FAR I CAN STILL WHEELE AND RUN FAST MOTOR DOES GET HOT.
Glad to be of help. We tried about 6 different setups before settling on this one. The ones that went faster just sent the motor too hot for only a nominal speed increase. Hope you like bigfoot we've tested the hell out of this one! New videos coming up every 2-3 days.
Thanks, Bigfoot 1 classic had a rip tearing run at 36.8 mph with this set up. Then about 12 ft into the grass, puffs of white smoke! DONT TAKE THIS SET UP IN THE GRASS.
Indeed this setup is designed for on road/light gravel use. I think we made the comment that 4 inches of mud/ heavy going would be an issue. But Very Sorry to hear that nonetheless. Of note is our original is still going strong. We tested some 5-6 combos before settling on this as compromise between speed and excessive heart
A bit late on this one, but verry good and infomative video. Are you still running tha truck and are you still using the same gear and spur gear or did you change something to spare the motor ??
This car is still being run by the shop I believe. The motor is fine, it's where you drive this combo that's the issue. Go through 4 inches of mud or 6 inch grass and it'll fy, stick to blacktop and it's fine.
hello, with this combination of a 23T pinion, a 67T Spur, and four pairs of bearings, it's better to use the stock 8,4V Nimh or this is better to use the 2s lipo pack ? about the the motor life which one to choose ?
The lipo will give more power in theory that makes it faster. In testing we found very little in it. On some occasions on the GPS the lipo was slower than the Nimh depending on the gearing we were testing. So either would do as both are about the same with this combo. The stock motor is still running fine on our car - several months on and a lot of bashing later. No overheating issues. Hope that helps. On the lipo front unless you have one my thought is stick with the Nimh it comes with - saves money!
Does this combo put extra strain on the motor or esc? I want to get this truck and do the upgrades however I dont want to kill my new toy. Thanks for the video and response.
Apologies for delay been out of country for 2 wks. Uploading is easy when away, commenting less so! I normally answer same day or next day latest. We (me and my local hobby store) picked this combo after testing 5-6 on one day. We felt this gave the best speed increase vs heat. Some went faster but gave too much heat from the motor. The bearings are good to do regardless as they will increase speed a little on their own, and certainly decrease strain and increase run time, I suggest this gearing is best suited to shorter grass, hard pack dirt as opposed to deep mud and long grass which will strain any motor. We feel this should run well consistently though.
Now in theory it should, and it should run cooler as it's pushing smaller tires and slightly less weight. However we did test a lot of combos on the bigfoot and so results may differ if anything I'm thinking it will run cooler. As for speed I should think so but we ran the GPS on the bigfoot each time. Hope that makes sense. Give jim at F&M hobby center a call as he has both the parts in and would be better able to advise. But gut feel is yes it should. Indeed I'm thinking it'll go faster as the tires will have much less resistance. There's a link/tel number in the desc,
Thanks we spent about half a day testing various gear combos and settled on this as the best one. It's a reliable increase. Some of the options we tried sent the heat soaring too much. This will do this speed all day long.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know,I just put a brushless velinium 3800 kV with your suggested gearing.. It is extremely insanely fast! like spins and wheelies,at any given speed! motor runs cool too! just warm to the touch, running a 60 c 2s 7200 lipo!
Todd we bet that's awesome. We can only imagine how fast that is. Guessing a wheelie bar is next on the list! Even on 2S that's got to be lots of power to have fun with, 60C pack should help keep everything nicely powered
I'm guessing it runs at least 40mph,even at almost top speed,it will wheelie! Its quite a bit faster than my slash ultimate! Sorry to go on,just very impressive!
Great video. Great truck. But I guess I'm a little confused my regular Stampede xl5 out of the box I can do 31 miles an hour with no modifications whatsoever how do you get the 50%?
The Stampede comes with a 16T as standard but to hit 30+ you need the optional 21T fitted (None of the traxxas cars do the top speed quoted without fitting the additional pinion - most times this is NOT included, some cars it is. Like 4tec2.0 VXL - but even that doesn't have the speed gearing fitted as stock, but it does come with it. The Bigfoot runs a 14T pinion (not 16 like the stampede) as stock but has an optional 19T pinion to reach higher speeds. Thus the two cars are geared differently by some way. Likewise spurs are likely to be different sizes as well.Hope this explains the differences. We've tested nearly every traxxas model and taking the 2WD slash as an example - it only does 22-23mph out of the box, but does come with the optional pinion and when fitted it's closer to 30. You'd be surprised how many people commented they'd not realised the car came with the extra pinion or that it needed fitting to hit the 30 e.g. they were driving around thinking their car was at 30 when it was closer to 20. Don't shoot the messenger is all I'd say We get the 50% increase by using a dedicated RC GPS to track the speed of the stock out the box car (No phones!) and test the optional gearing combos to see the best for speed vs heat build up. In this case this involved changing the spur as well as the pinion about 6 times. Hope all that makes sense. What RC GPS are you using BTW?
Driftomaniacs great video I'm getting ready to upgrade my sons stampede to a Velineon system I've already done the bearings what gearing would you recommend for that if you please..
Rick I'll ask in the shop tomorrow. I do know of one use who's used this self same setup/ gearing on brushless (Velineon) and it's just bonkers, but I'll ask waht they recommend
It keeps cool enough on this combo to be reliable. On some of our other higher geared test that we did it got too hot (We tested about 6 setups to see speed vs heat vs acceleration). We settled on this particular gearing setup as the best compromise. Hope that makes sense
+Toyota Tundra_1794 this model was one of the first released by traxxas and those solid bushes were the ones it came with, not sure onnvery latest release. This motor is still running this spec although I acknowledge some have had issues this car is still on the original motor with the same spec
Well we chose this combo out of 5-6 we tested and found this to be the best compromise. Views vary but this still car is STILL running well on this combo
Well it'd be a bit of a beast with that but Yes we've had a few people do this with a brushless combo with mental results. Let us know if you do and I'll share the video
Tried the 23t pinion and 76t spur on my traxxas stampede and within 5 minutes the motor started smoking and burnt out it also wouldn't wheelie did I do something wrong ?
If you have the vxl setup you must already be doing twice this speed though? You need to be running a Lipo on the VXL. This will actually help with the heat issue. That Nimh battery will have too much current/power drain and will cause the motor and the esc to get hot. I used to have a rustler vxl. An example of this is the Arrma Nero they state that if you run packs of less than 35C rating they will get damaged, as it draws so much power. Hope that helps
Driftomaniacs actually it did help a little bit I didn't know about the lipo but my rustler was an xl5 then I got the vxl system and didn't upgrade the gearing I do have a lower hearing but I am waiting to use it until the weather cools.
Hey that's just what I did with mine. I bought the basic one, then upgraded to the vxl system. The problem I found was that with the 3S lipo in it, it was spending all its time on two wheels! Whilst I love the wheelies after a while I found it frustrating having to feed the power in to get it up to speed. In the end I bought a Yeti Rock Racer kit and put it in that, it tops out at 33mph but boy does it get there fast! That running gear can fit in a lot of cars if you want to move on up. Personally I'd say buy a 2s lipo with 5000mah capacity. That will help it run not only much faster (The lipo speed difference over the stock battery will put a huge grin on your face) but also help keep the temp down as the battery will be more matched to the current drain. As I type this I remember as the dealer did my upgrade he also changed the pinion/spur can't remember what to but that should be on the website. Sounds like you may have it already though. 2S is good fun and driveable, with 3S and TSM fitted I found it a handful, and I drive something around the yard daily. My current favourite is my Arrma Nero, it's like barely controlled insanity. Of note is I'd love to see how fast your's goes with that current gearing and a 3S pack in it. I'm thinking of getting a Slash 4x4 platinum next?
Driftomaniacs yah I was thinking of getting a lipo soon and I did try a 3s once and didn't see much difference for some reason but I had a metal spur and pinion and they weren't hardened steel so the pinion melted so that must've been the reason
I tore my acl recently in my 7th grade footbal game and my mom and nanny said they would each get my one around 250 whats a good truck or basher for that price
Firstly apologies for not getting back to you faster. Well at that price you are realistically looking at a 2wd car and a brushed one, going brushless sadly moves you up to the $340-350 mark. The Slash at $239 jumps out to my mind, there are loads of upgrades available. Easy upgrade to brushless as your budget allows. Spares availability should also be good which is a major factor, if it breaks you don't want to be waiting a week to get spares. The slash sits lower than the bigfoot or the stampede so will handle better. They will all run around the same top speed. I was going to suggest going with a brushed setup first and get used to the speed but if you already have lipos then you may already have a brushless car. If that's the case I'd save a bit more and go for one of the vxl models at around the $350 mark. Any more questions please fire away, and I'll try and answer them faster. The bigfoot offers a lot of bang for the buck though! At $209 you could do this $20 upgrade easily!
Driftomaniacs thanks for the info they said they would combine so my max is around 500 what would you recommend and your fine don't have to answer fast just wanted a answer from someone who knew something
apologies I was having trouble replying for a second. I would opt for this rather than the rustler. The rustler is more wheelie happy than this, which is fun to start with, but becomes tiresome after a while. They both have loads of upgrades available to improve handling and speed. Rustler will have similar top speed to this. This handles surprisingly well due to those wide MT tires. They both have different attributes but this is probably going to be the better outright basher, the rustler the outright speed machine. But going fast all the time? Not practical depending on your situation. After all 60mph is 88ft per second! So 30Mph like this and the rustler can do is still 44ft per second. Plenty quick enough for most real life situations.
F&M Hobbies Flanders, NJ who kindly did the development work on the gearing with me. They should have the parts in stock their contact details are just below the video - click the 'more' button to see them.
Traxxas own one. Part No. is quoted in the description below the video. Hope you find it okay. Truck is still doing well on this combo several weeks of hard bashing later!
not sure if it can pop a wheelie but your still up and running ??? maybe still running because u dont use it ? the answer is barely .. once in awhile ... but it does add speed ... its a good combo if u want to stay on the road ...
Thoody, I'll ask in my LHS who helped out on this video BUT my first thought is no. Certainly don't buy it for the Rustler until I confirm it. I'll see them later this week. HUGE snowstorm coming here tonight so going knowhere tomorrow.
I will ask in the store tomorrow - they did the spannering on this one and will know for sure. I know it's good to go on the stampede but need to confirm or not on the slash 2wd. I wouldn't like to give you the wrong answer without checking.
Only upped the video production rate/style recently as I now get access to more cars and am making more time to film and edit (Which takes way longer than filming does). They (subscribers) are going on quickly now so I must be doing it right (finally) first 1000 seems the hardest. I will be having another prize giveaway (Dynamite hex drivers sent to one person at 1k) at the 2,000 mark.
Thanks - I get people saying oh mines much faster with it's brushless motor etc. They seem to miss the point that I like doing the videos where we go faster for as little as possible and not spending 2/3 of the new cars value on mods.... Glad you get the point of it whilst some do not!
It'd probably work BUT the whole point of this was to maximise the speed for under $20 not $200. Any burshless motor would boost the speed but that was 100% not the aim of this video. It was to boost the speed considerably for those not wanting to go down the brushless route, which means buying lupos and a lipo charger on top of the items you suggested. $20? we struggle to buy that lot combined for under $200. Hope you understand we're not condeming your idea but highlighting this wasn't about making it as fast as possible but making cheap speed.
Man oh man with 3S you had to be hitting mid 40's!!! In the test we hit high 30's BUT it ran hot as hell and wanted to wheelie so much it was half the run before we could feed in full power
PPK1 I felt you I put a wheelie bar lowered it put slicks on it with a 3s 4700 amp and I hit 65mph😂 long story short I blew the tire off the rim mid run 😂😂👌
Do you mean this setup as opposed to the car? If you mean the setup then yes you could use it off road but you're going to need to take care as to how heavy the ground is you throw at it. E.g. thick mud, 6 inch grass etc will put more load on the motor. However loose gravel and hardpacked dirt and cut grass should be fine. If you meant can you use the truck off road then yes you certainly can it's got 4 wheel independent suspension and good off road tires.
+Isaac Lyons like nearly every traxxas model you have to buy the extra pinion spur combo to hit the 30+. Only very recent models like the 4tec2.0vxl come with the higher speed gearing included. So how many people have a Bigfoot or slash that’s doing 22-23mph not the 30 they think?
Tez you know I'd have to check it to see if it fitted in. It'd improve runtime, but I'd go for higher C rating to up the speed. Think of the mah as the size of it's gas tank, and the batteries C rating as the octane rating. Hope that makes sense?
Hi we tested some 6-7 combinations some of which went faster BUT ran the motor too hot. We won't recommend a setup unless we can run it reliably day to day. This wasn't about achieving the fastest speed we could but reliable speed for under $20. Hope that makes sense
To answer this query. This car is still running that combo without any problem whatsoever - Indeed I've just shot a bashing video of it, off road, which should be posted this weekend. We test some 5-6 gear combos before settling on this one. Monitoring the heat vs speed on each one. This is why we went with this one, and not the fastest one. If we'd done that we'd have got a headline speed number but people would be burning out motors. This car still is 100% original other than our speed mod. This was shot a few weeks back, which indicates this combo with the bearings, is reliable. Hope that helps
TropicPython 61 Well maybe he's new to rc, maybe he watched a video where a rc youtuber and a hobby shop said how to make his truck faster. How are people supposed to automatically know this will kill their motor? I don't blame driftomaniacs but think it should be stressed a little bit more in the video, description or even just pull this video seeing as alot of people don't realize the risk associated with this upgrade. It might be common sense to some but not to all. Plus hobby shops always try to get you to add more power so when you burn/break something it's right back to the hobby shop. I recently bought a older emaxx, called to get some nmih batteries and the guys trying to convince me to go 2s lipo when I realized it will probably burn up my motor alot faster than the 6 cell nmih battery's it takes when all I wanted was to run the truck normal.
It would but the whole point of this video was to make it go as fast as possible for as cheap as possible as not everyone has that $200 and the rest of the $ you'd spend on a lipo and a lipo charger. We like doing these videos that keep the cost down. Hope you understand wherre we are coming from on this video, but a velineon setup and lipos plus charger could be more than the purchase cost of this truck
Indeed it'd fly But our idea behind this was good (reliable) speed for a low price. We tried 5/6 gear combos before settling on this one. I was playing with it yesterday shooting some bashing footage (video currently being edited ETA this weekend), thinking "I wonder what this'd go like with a Velineon in it?' - Great minds think alike. thanks for the feedback
You kind of missed the point of this video which was how we wanted to help people go faster very cheaply. I've an Arrma Senton, Traxxas 4Tec 2.0 VXL, and Losi XL-E for the faster stuff. Do check out the other videos and you'll see the faster cars in action
Nope that's why we went for this combo. Out of the six we tested this one's the best on speed vs heat build up. We had a couple go faster but get too hot for our liking. So we recommend this combo
Well you need to not go mad with it. If you take it bashing in deep mud or long grass then it's going to suffer but if you're into parking lot punding then it'll work well.

+Toyota Tundra_1794 this model was one of the first released by traxxas and those solid bushes were the ones it came with, not sure onnvery latest release. This motor is still running this spec although I acknowledge some have had issues this car is still on the original motor with the same spec
I retract my statement about my cranic having bearings. it did not. it had the same ones your had, My bad
Did you notice any drop off in acceleration?
Will it still wheelie with this gearing?
Thanks for the vid! Trying to get into RC and I like this truck
I would say this is an ideal first purchase, it looks easy to work on, it will have good spares availability.
Driftomaniacs thanks
Jursaw watch my latest video of Bigfoot
I have a 2x4 stampede and I still want to bash but I want more speed and don't want to over heat anything what kind of gearing should I use
Well we chose this combo out of 5-6 we tested and found this to be the best compromise. Views vary but this still car is STILL running well on this combo
Thanks for the info.
Would this gearing be ok with a Sidewinder 3 setup?
Well it'd be a bit of a beast with that but Yes we've had a few people do this with a brushless combo with mental results. Let us know if you do and I'll share the video
Driftomaniacs
Thanks! I'm a former Jersey resident and I appreciate your videos.
Will the same parts fit a traxxas skully?
you 'd have to check with your LHS
Tried the 23t pinion and 76t spur on my traxxas stampede and within 5 minutes the motor started smoking and burnt out it also wouldn't wheelie did I do something wrong ?
goalie996 nope you shouldn't have did this read anyone else's comments almost everyone who tried this ended up like you
Man I wish I could run that gearing on my rustler I run a 6 cell nimh 20/90 and it still gets very hot and I have the vxl system
Video shows 76t spur, your saying use a 67t. I can find a 76t all day long, haven't found one 67t 48p. Am I missing something?
contact Jim at F&M hobbies using link below the video he should get you sorted out fine, They do exist honest!
Does it over heat
I tore my acl recently in my 7th grade footbal game and my mom and nanny said they would each get my one around 250 whats a good truck or basher for that price
I have a lot of lipos to
Firstly apologies for not getting back to you faster.
Was the motor hot?
Do you recommend this or the rustler
apologies I was having trouble replying for a second.
I love your into. What did you use?
I used imovie to create the intro.
Driftomaniacs Thanks :)
Driftomaniacs
Where did you get your parts because I am going to by one
F&M Hobbies Flanders, NJ who kindly did the development work on the gearing with me. They should have the parts in stock their contact details are just below the video - click the 'more' button to see them.
what brand of a 67t spur did you install?
Traxxas own one. Part No. is quoted in the description below the video. Hope you find it okay. Truck is still doing well on this combo several weeks of hard bashing later!
Driftomaniacs thanks
part # you have in video is a 76t
so please post part # your currently using?
Apologies it's the 76T one - my typo error on the screen -aaah! I want to scream.. I'll work to amend this on the video.
can it stil pop wheelies with that gearing .???
Not 100% sure but the aim with this mod was speed increase
not sure if it can pop a wheelie but your still up and running ??? maybe still running because u dont use it ? the answer is barely .. once in awhile ... but it does add speed ... its a good combo if u want to stay on the road ...
Does this work with the rustler?
Thoody, I'll ask in my LHS who helped out on this video BUT my first thought is no. Certainly don't buy it for the Rustler until I confirm it. I'll see them later this week. HUGE snowstorm coming here tonight so going knowhere tomorrow.
Driftomaniacs Ok thank you!!!🙂
will this work on a traxxas slash 2wd xl-5
I will ask in the store tomorrow - they did the spannering on this one and will know for sure. I know it's good to go on the stampede but need to confirm or not on the slash 2wd. I wouldn't like to give you the wrong answer without checking.
Ok thanks for responding. I am suprised you do not have more subscribers since you put out good quality videos.
Yeah makes sense . Did you find out if i could use this mod on a traxxas slash yet. I hate to be bothering you so much.
Thanks for this useful video :-)
part #'s please?
Nice video guys:)
Many thanks! Glad you liked it. Have you checked out our Bigfoot Vs Grave Digger in the skatepark video?
Thumbs up I love these videos
Thanks - I get people saying oh mines much faster with it's brushless motor etc. They seem to miss the point that I like doing the videos where we go faster for as little as possible and not spending 2/3 of the new cars value on mods.... Glad you get the point of it whilst some do not!
Driftomaniacs very true I love just to see how fast you can get it like you said without spending 700 dollars
Yup we are subbed ✨👽👽✨👍
You should put a tekin pro4 with a mamba max pro that would be interesting
It'd probably work BUT the whole point of this was to maximise the speed for under $20 not $200. Any burshless motor would boost the speed but that was 100% not the aim of this video. It was to boost the speed considerably for those not wanting to go down the brushless route, which means buying lupos and a lipo charger on top of the items you suggested. $20? we struggle to buy that lot combined for under $200. Hope you understand we're not condeming your idea but highlighting this wasn't about making it as fast as possible but making cheap speed.
I did something similar on my brushless traxxas bandit with a 3s... That. Thing. Was. Fast
Can u use this off road
Do you mean this setup as opposed to the car? If you mean the setup then yes you could use it off road but you're going to need to take care as to how heavy the ground is you throw at it. E.g. thick mud, 6 inch grass etc will put more load on the motor. However loose gravel and hardpacked dirt and cut grass should be fine. If you meant can you use the truck off road then yes you certainly can it's got 4 wheel independent suspension and good off road tires.
Doesn't it come with a speed pinion that makes it do 30?
+Isaac Lyons like nearly every traxxas model you have to buy the extra pinion spur combo to hit the 30+. Only very recent models like the 4tec2.0vxl come with the higher speed gearing included. So how many people have a Bigfoot or slash that’s doing 22-23mph not the 30 they think?
Driftomaniacs, nice! I have a skully and am upgrading to brushless.
That should get it moving nicely
I wanna see if you put 5000mah into a traxxas bigfoot
Tez you know I'd have to check it to see if it fitted in. It'd improve runtime, but I'd go for higher C rating to up the speed. Think of the mah as the size of it's gas tank, and the batteries C rating as the octane rating. Hope that makes sense?
is it a 67t or 76t spur???
67T
That's a lie. The spur says 76 on it.
Darkoptix they changed it out for a smaller one
Driftomaniacs no worries
But could you try to put a 34t pinion gear? TRY
Hi we tested some 6-7 combinations some of which went faster BUT ran the motor too hot. We won't recommend a setup unless we can run it reliably day to day. This wasn't about achieving the fastest speed we could but reliable speed for under $20. Hope that makes sense
Good info👍
3s? Is it capable?
The bigfoot ESC will take a maximum of 2S. If you put 3S in it the ESC WILL burn out.
Wouldn't that gearing burn up my motor after a while???
To answer this query. This car is still running that combo without any problem whatsoever - Indeed I've just shot a bashing video of it, off road, which should be posted this weekend. We test some 5-6 gear combos before settling on this one. Monitoring the heat vs speed on each one. This is why we went with this one, and not the fastest one. If we'd done that we'd have got a headline speed number but people would be burning out motors. This car still is 100% original other than our speed mod. This was shot a few weeks back, which indicates this combo with the bearings, is reliable. Hope that helps
Driftomaniacs what gears did you use for the combos?
Traxxas is good produgt.
Where is the bearings
In the suspension arms/steering knuckles
I can smell that fried motor from here
Two years and still on same motor!
this will work on any rc car btw
nice!!! thanks :)
How can I make my Traxxas rustler faster it supposed to do 35 it doesn't how can I make it go faster
no it's supposed to do 30 mph+ so that doesn't mean 35 mph have you put an RC gps on it?
I did this and kill my motor;(
Sorry to hear that. This combo is still running strong on our car with no issues
Makes sense that's way to high of a gearing for a titan 12turn.
Callum Landsborough Idiot how would you not know it would burn the motor
TropicPython 61 Well maybe he's new to rc, maybe he watched a video where a rc youtuber and a hobby shop said how to make his truck faster. How are people supposed to automatically know this will kill their motor? I don't blame driftomaniacs but think it should be stressed a little bit more in the video, description or even just pull this video seeing as alot of people don't realize the risk associated with this upgrade. It might be common sense to some but not to all. Plus hobby shops always try to get you to add more power so when you burn/break something it's right back to the hobby shop. I recently bought a older emaxx, called to get some nmih batteries and the guys trying to convince me to go 2s lipo when I realized it will probably burn up my motor alot faster than the 6 cell nmih battery's it takes when all I wanted was to run the truck normal.
stampede's like the dirt, not the blacktop
Bigfoot on steroids
another 100$-200$ with velineon motor and esc and that thing will kick dust!
It would but the whole point of this video was to make it go as fast as possible for as cheap as possible as not everyone has that $200 and the rest of the $ you'd spend on a lipo and a lipo charger. We like doing these videos that keep the cost down. Hope you understand wherre we are coming from on this video, but a velineon setup and lipos plus charger could be more than the purchase cost of this truck
imagine you guys installed vxl the car would hall ass
Indeed it'd fly But our idea behind this was good (reliable) speed for a low price. We tried 5/6 gear combos before settling on this one. I was playing with it yesterday shooting some bashing footage (video currently being edited ETA this weekend), thinking "I wonder what this'd go like with a Velineon in it?' - Great minds think alike. thanks for the feedback
Nice
IMO why get a truck if you are looking for speed??
You kind of missed the point of this video which was how we wanted to help people go faster very cheaply. I've an Arrma Senton, Traxxas 4Tec 2.0 VXL, and Losi XL-E for the faster stuff. Do check out the other videos and you'll see the faster cars in action
Traxxas should at least include a full set of bearings with all its trucks. Bushings are crap! What a bunch of CHEAPASSES!!
Indeed BUT that's how they keep the price close to $200 a key price point we guess. All feedback welcome (And you raised a good point!)
Burn up the motor yet?
Nope that's why we went for this combo. Out of the six we tested this one's the best on speed vs heat build up. We had a couple go faster but get too hot for our liking. So we recommend this combo
JGilbert529 yep
This setup with a 2s LiPo or a 5000 NiMH will smoke your motor so bad... I did this setup after watching this video and now my motor is burnt out
We’re still running the original motor on ours.....
Driftomaniacs probably is just a hit or miss with mines than. I’m running the Traxxas 7 cell 8.4 5000 NiMH battery
Driftomaniacs do you know a way for the truck to not flip over? I hate that I can’t turn it without it flipping over unless it’s on like a dirt track.
I'd be tempted to ask the question on the traxxas page on facebook or their forum as someone will have the solution
Josh d
Slow down before turning and you won't flip as much :p
It won't fit
It did on this car, I filmed them fitting it, and helped test it........
jn
This will kill your motor and esc
Only if you drive through long grass or heavy mud, original car and motor still going strong
Driftomaniacs wow!that's cool I thought it would kill ur motor instantly
Well you need to not go mad with it. If you take it bashing in deep mud or long grass then it's going to suffer but if you're into parking lot punding then it'll work well.
Driftomaniacs cool thanks👍🏼
