That highway scene was just awesome for its time. We were all thinking, no way they can top their rooftop 360 camera spin bullet-time scene. They showed us.
There's a nice detail that basically explains why Neo was able to stop those Sentinels in the real world: The Oracle did say the power of The One extends from the Matrix all the way to the Source. The humans are actually part machine (they have the plugs in their head for instance), and Neo in particular is connected to the machine mainframe, so we can theorize he has some sort of wireless connection/power over the machines in the real world.
So nice to see someone who understands this haha, it's crazy how many people just don't get that Neo is literally connected to the machines/source, thats how he stops them.
Love to see a reactor go past the first Matrix, too many stop at the first one but they all have a value & are all part of a story that makes sense if you look for it. Can't wait to see the next 2 in the series (I hope you watch the 4th) & see how much Jen picks up.
I'm so glad you're going deeper into the Matrix. I loved this one almost as much as the first, once I got a grip on the meaning of what the Architect is saying. I actually thought the third film was the worst. There is a fourth film that came out pretty recently and my husband and I both really enjoyed it, but I know we're in the minority and most people think it's terrible (I don't really want to say specifically what I like or dislike about the subsequent films bc it would definitely get into spoiler territory). The Merovingian is supposed to be a werewolf (animalistic), and Persephone is actually a vampire- that's why she wants to experience the kind of kiss Neo would give to Trinity (more of a psychic vampire than an actual blood-drinking vampire, I think). The twins are obviously ghosts. All the kinds of renegade programs the Oracle warned us about.
Loved the reaction, as to how neo can interact with machines in the real world, that always bothered me too, but then I thought about wifi/bluetooth and if machines came up with a similar system and installed it in the one, it could explain how he can remotely fry them in the real world

I suggest you also watch a series of animated shorts produced by the Wachowskis called "The Animatrix". The young man who was waiting for Neo appears there. Another story is "The last flight of the Osiris", the ship mentioned at the beginning of the movie. It's always a great time watching this movies with you 😊

EXPLAINS A LOT about where the machines and the Matrix came from and why they declared war on the humans being stupid... Explains the KID that annoys Neo... Who sent the msg warning Zion about the army drilling downwards... Etc. definitely worth watching B4 getting into REVOLUTIONS 🤯
Sometimes I love global timezones, I'm always up super late anyway and that fits often perfectly with upload schedules from across the pond :D And now I'm very happy to see that The Matrix Reloaded is on the menu!!! I love all the Matrix movies, 3 had to grow on me, but 1 and 2 love at first watch. And I totally liked 4, even when it wasn't a hit with every one. But since Sense8 is on of my top3 shows, it felt like a reunion :D Anyway, very excited for this video :D
I love you krazy kids! Here's a couple of tidbits for you (& maybe for ya'z both). Firstly? This story was originally envisioned to be told across several mediums which were film, animation & video game. A few of the animated bits were released over the internet of which the most pertinent to this work was The Final Flight Of The Osiris (the info about the drilling being forwarded to Zion) & The Kid's Story (the young guy who hero worships Neo when they return to Zion). There are seven other "cartoons" & they are all quite good including a couple that show the history of the machine rise & the beginnings of the war (& have been gathered into a 9 film collection known as The Animatrix). The Wachowskis also made an excellent video game featuring several actors from this film that expand the story wonderfully (like how Captain Niobi ended up going to the highway to rescue Morpheus) called Enter The Matrix that was made in the exact same manner as the film using the same film stock so there is no visual difference when the cut scenes play during the game breaks. Speaking of that highway, they searched the nation for a strip of expressway that they could commandeer for several hours every day for a few weeks but logistically that would have been a nightmare so after all was rejected they ended up buying a de-commissioned airstrip & built their own one mile plus long 3 lane highway which lent itself perfectly to the story thread with Trinity having to turn around to drive a motorcycle in the opposite direction. Obviously, I don't need to tell you much about the visual effects. That chase is all you need to be in awe (visual fx director John Gaeta joked about putting a cameraman on the highway to chase Trinity but no one was brave enough). Also note that they originally wanted Sean Connery to play the role of the Architect, but he said he didn't understand the digital aspects of what they were doing so he turned it down (he also turned down the role of Gandalf for tbe same reason & when he saw how wildly successful both films he declined became he figured he better get on the bus & as a result said yes to The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen which tanked). I look forward to you people watching Matrix Revolutions & Matrix Resurrection.

I mean the 3rd is not that good and 4th as another said that is the abomination. But I say it depends what age you saw them at. Now the first is definitely best but I saw this when I was 19, my step dad got a pirated copy on dvd and the flying scenes and seeing what he was capable of blew me away. Now the scene I wanna say something of is the choir part they do in a ton of movies and it's so effective of making someone looking like a god is the burly brawl with agent smith. He picks that pole up, spins in the air and choirs going at it. Beautiful, perfect cinema IMO. Yeah first is better but this one still damn good. Sorry for essay, just noticed haha

And the similarity to the peddler who was infested with the cursed city, who continued to be a threat to the hero, but also represented a threat to the great evil one, was so similar. Even the final battle carried some similarity.
