I did not know about the dogs in the snowfield until I was playing a randomizer... really got a kick out of watching an assortment of militiamen, an omen, and one of the big dogs frolicking about. Honestly so wholesome??? I love it very much
Wait Gowry's dog is supposed to be non-hostile...? It's attacked me quite literally every single playthrough. It killed me the first time I saw it because I thought it was non-hostile at first.
For context I picked up the game day one because I'm a massive Souls fan. Don't regret doing so but a lot of stuff has changed since initial release so idk.
Dude looked at a castle taken by savage creatures that also kill a blind girl begging for help and her father and said: "that's a happy ending, they were servants once, now they are free"
Honestly, despite the tragedy of Jarburg, both Diallos and Jar Bairn get a somewhat happy ending. Diallos died protecting people he cared about and was even considered a hero for it considering the Rune you get from him. Jar Bairn receives a gift from his late uncle to help him along his journey to become a warrior and gifts you a cool Talisman in exchange.
The more I find out about radahn the more I like him. He trained to be a warrior like his father, he learned sorcery like his mother, however due to his size he learned gravity magic so he could ride his trusty steed into battle without breaking his back, he had a massive cat and dog growing up (the wolf of radagan), he looked up to mesmer aswell, he was a respected warrior and general, and most impressive is he did all this. While holding back millions of falling stars, and even after he lost his mind, proper skin coloration, his feet, and his sense of self. He never once turned on his trust steed. Chad energy right there
The Pitchers! Alexandre and his nephew. The first died a glorious death in combat and the second left his village to venture across the world and become a great warrior.
To clarify, Tanith isnt actualy Rya's mother, more of an adoptive mother. Its more likely that Daedicar is her actual mother, since it was her that was used in the "terrible ritual" that birth Rya. Even in the item description of Daedicar's woe, it states that she was essentially a VERY horny lady, to the point she offered her body to Eigay (the all-devouring serpent) and started producing snakemen in the process.
I remember in Dark Souls 3, Irina was one of the only NPCs to get a definitive good ending if you do things right. Becomes a Firekeeper like she always wanted.
I love miriel, they are a lovable npc while also practical in that they don’t move around the map, randomly die, or try to murder you. They also are willing to teach sorceries AND incantations.
The difference between dark souls and Elden ring is that happiness in Elden ring can be a reality, in dark souls even happy moments devolve into tragedy
Theres actually a way to save Blackguard Boggart, by waiting to buy prawn off of him untill you go and deal with dung's invasion in that lake, you can then buy prawn to move Boggart to the lake, subverting his horible fate. He'll even be there when the capital of ash happens, being completely unharmed and still willing to sell crab. Love that guy, im glad theres a way to let him live in peace
Want the best ending in any of the souls games? Don't talk or interact with anyone, i have everyone still alive in the roundtable hold and firekeep shrine because i just did zero quests during my 2nd playtroughs. Pretty neat, but you'll miss on the quest rewards.
Every time I hear about this behemoth of a man, Radhan, who looks like Ares from GOW, everyone always has something wholesome to say about him. No wonder he’s the GOAT to so many. He was a simple man that liked to fight but always valued relationships no matter how small, and never took anything for granted. If the Tarnished didn’t exist I’d be rooting for him.
Patches can have a happy ending now, too. After Mt. Gelmir and the shaded castle he returns to murkwater cave. You do have to open the chest again and Patches will come to fight you but he does recognise you and opens his shop again if you don't kill him in the fight. As far as Elden Ring goes, that's a pretty good ending.

Imo, I think the Alexander questline is pretty happy, at least considering his personal goals. He is a warrior who wants to get stronger and stronger, and he does get stronger and stronger every time you encounter him in game, he gains motivation and confidence through each interaction, and progressively grows until you meet him and have one final battle, exactly what he wanted. And he wasn’t sad to go out, as he appreciates the fact he got to fight a true master.
Jellyfish twins is big sad, but also kinda heartwarming since you let them finally reunite and allow the one stuck in the Mountaintops to move on. But ultimately it's still horrible that jellyfish are actually spirits of children who couldn't turn into spirit ashes

I really hope we find Rya in the shadow of the erdtree DLC it could even be like maybe shes making her own mini volcano manor in a forest or field or something. I think that would be awesome
RANNI SITTING ON A PILE OF BOOKS. I love this so much. When you find her discarded flesh on top of the tower, you'll see she used to be pretty tall and imposing which makes this extra adorable. She likes to be tall 😭 I kinda agree with you about Castle Morne. I had VERY little sympathy to spare for those aristocrat fucks lmao. The daughter, maybe--she's clearly very young and she's blind, no telling how much of this shit was actually her fault--but Edgar? Nah. What I also thought was interesting was a ghost outside the castle who describes the rebellion as "The servants are full of wrath now that their mother's been taken" (paraphrasing, wiki is down rn) which could refer to a lot of things but if nothing else, is an understandable motivation.
The best thing about elden ring is just how many characters have bittersweet or outright happy endings. Literally the majority of NPCs. In previous soulsborne games few characters got such good endings.
I accidentally fell on one of the jelly kids before facing Leonine the first time and I felt really bad (and a little scared when they all abruptly turned red and tried to kill me)

There’s something really funny about Radahn, the notorious warlord who loves violence, being a softy for animals. I choose to believe that he would get excited at seeing a new species on any given journey. Maybe have some notebook entries for them.

Can't wait to fight Rya as a god-devouring serpent in the next game. You absolutely KNOW Fromsoft is going to do that.
I did not know about the dogs in the snowfield until I was playing a randomizer... really got a kick out of watching an assortment of militiamen, an omen, and one of the big dogs frolicking about. Honestly so wholesome??? I love it very much
2:22 That dog attacked me and killed Gowry the moment i started speaking to him ☠️
Same
Wait Gowry's dog is supposed to be non-hostile...? It's attacked me quite literally every single playthrough. It killed me the first time I saw it because I thought it was non-hostile at first.
Same but I also B-lined there on day one. It could have been a patch.
@duckchen2676 can confirm it's always been aggressive, at least from when I started playing when the game got launched
For context I picked up the game day one because I'm a massive Souls fan. Don't regret doing so but a lot of stuff has changed since initial release so idk.
I think it becomes non hostile after you talk to Gowry
i think you gotta sneak behind it the first time
I love the term: "Collateral Happiness."
Dude looked at a castle taken by savage creatures that also kill a blind girl begging for help and her father and said: "that's a happy ending, they were servants once, now they are free"
Exactly. The only Misbegotten that gets a pass from me is Hewg.
Chad energy right there
Nephelis quest all gangsta until the tarnished uses the bang dung eater mending rune.
The Pitchers! Alexandre and his nephew. The first died a glorious death in combat and the second left his village to venture across the world and become a great warrior.
Gowrys dog definitely attacks. It seems to have a smaller aggro radius, but not ridiculously smaller and it will definitely come after you.
Becomes a Firekeeper like she always wanted.
i love Rya :)
same
My ER waifu.
I'm very proud in the fact I never attacked a jellyfish because I always used the jellyfish ashes, it was a silly little guy.
I was hoping during the ending cutscene, or atleast the ones that fit the mood, would have Boc, Nepheli, and Raya beside you at the throne.
I'd also bring Patches into my service for the entertainment. You can't forget my Elden Lord's favorite enslaved bodyguard the Dungeater.
The best actual game ending for the Lands Between is the Dark Moon Ending, but, I mean, the competition has set a really low bar on good endings XD
Better Vibe than most
Coolest Details of Souls
Fairly Good Work
Pope Turtle Is Life and Love
Theres actually a way to save Blackguard Boggart, by waiting to buy prawn off of him untill you go and deal with dung's invasion in that lake, you can then buy prawn to move Boggart to the lake, subverting his horible fate. He'll even be there when the capital of ash happens, being completely unharmed and still willing to sell crab. Love that guy, im glad theres a way to let him live in peace
istg throughout my 500+ hours of playing this game I've never had any jellyfish harmed
fun fact: zeevoke makes us feel guilty for killing the jellyfish to compensate that he killed all the jellyfish he came across when he played the game
Chill dog in Leyendel is just bugged, there was a video about it I think.
If the Tarnished didn’t exist I’d be rooting for him.
actually the chill dog in Leyndell is a bug in the code he aggros to you by the arena area with the shield talisman
“Gowry’s dog doesn’t attack” Meanwhile me testing that only to get jumped, resulting in gowry’s death
What have i done
Patches can have a happy ending now, too. After Mt. Gelmir and the shaded castle he returns to murkwater cave. You do have to open the chest again and Patches will come to fight you but he does recognise you and opens his shop again if you don't kill him in the fight. As far as Elden Ring goes, that's a pretty good ending.
I actually noticed Ranni had a booster seat a few days ago. Super fun detail. I'm on maybe my 7th runthrough of the game and im just using the telescope to take a closer look at stuff that I didn't pay attention to before. The npc armors are crazy detailed.
me, who played elden ring about 5 times fully and haven't even stumbled on 80% of these questlines: 👁👄👁
REMOVE CASTLE MORNE FROM THIS LIST DEAR LORD!!!!!!
Ikr? "It's so nice that all of those people were horrifically murdered!" I like how he also includes the daughter living as a happy ending when the actual ending is her getting killed by the slaves, but I'm sure he meant it as a joke.
@@asssalt7347 castle morne was one of the darkest parts of the game too, literally a pile of burning corpses and genocide. Sure, the misbegotten shouldn’t have been slaves, but it’s overall dark asf since they killed so many in the process
A refreshing change of pace for loreheads! :) Thanks for this
Imo, I think the Alexander questline is pretty happy, at least considering his personal goals.
But ultimately it's still horrible that jellyfish are actually spirits of children who couldn't turn into spirit ashes
nephelis quest ending was honestly a suprise to me, and assuming you did complete the quest id like to imagine nepheli joins your new golden order and rules over limgrave, its nice to know that when you become elden lord you wont be completely alone in the end you will at least have some dudes with you
Miquella is Mycelia, Helphen's Steeple is Hyphae's Shelter which are Trees, Hyphae (Mycelium threads/fingers) comes from Hephaestus who is a god of fire and our gods of fire are water, plants, and fungi
Elden ring is much more hopeful than previous souls games in my opinion
Yeah most definitely
I really hope we find Rya in the shadow of the erdtree DLC it could even be like maybe shes making her own mini volcano manor in a forest or field or something. I think that would be awesome
You can keep Sellen alive & human. just don't tell her about Lusat's location, and you can still have Rennala to rebirth as well.
Nothing quite like a little light to warm yourself with when traversing oblivion.
Latenna: Thank you tarnished for helping me save the albinaurics
Me who was singed by the frenzied flame: uhh... yah your welcome
Thanks for me seeing this video after just having beaten Godfrey after 60+ attempts
It scares me what the or worse meant for the misbegotten that means that one guy who did the thing the docter at the brotherhood of steel asked
The dog that isn't supposed to attack you always attacked me tho, maybe a glitch idunno. But he never got in the hut so it's fine
The only people who say dogs are harmless are people who don't care about their safety or others. Those dogs can maul us to death when they decide to
I bet you didn't know that Godefroy has a pet tree spirit named Alex
RANNI SITTING ON A PILE OF BOOKS. I love this so much. When you find her discarded flesh on top of the tower, you'll see she used to be pretty tall and imposing which makes this extra adorable. She likes to be tall 😭
I kinda agree with you about Castle Morne.
I feel like Roderikas quest has a happy ending,
The best thing about elden ring is just how many characters have bittersweet or outright happy endings. Literally the majority of NPCs. In previous soulsborne games few characters got such good endings.
i was listening to the song of lament of an hour then visited the shaman village in the dlc so thank you i needed this i was pretty depressed
Ranni doesn't even have to fight you, you know she's powerful as a demigod when she can just wish you dead and you die lol
Those beastmen misbegotten dudes killed Irina. A blind woman that was helpless and alone. No mercy for them.
The nameless tarnished that the wolves would have attached to was vyke considering that was his spirit bell
So do the nepheli questline, always use the dog summons, and never kill a jellyfish.
Always kill jellyfish so you can have the shield......
"I was unwanted child, born of horrific ritual"
where is the hug option!!!
Exactly!!!!
I accidentally fell on one of the jelly kids before facing Leonine the first time and I felt really bad (and a little scared when they all abruptly turned red and tried to kill me)
Did you notice that, if you die in the castle and get your runes back, you retrieve less than when you died ? That's because Gostoc steals some of them...
Until the dlc come out, and Miyazaki said 'f u, no one get happy ending' 😂
2:22 bro BULL SH** THAT GOD DAM DOG HAS GONE AFTER ME EVERY GOD DAM TIME I EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING NEXT TO IT.
The Radahns cat thing is engraved in the walls in ds3 deacons of the deep
I've never seen that Kenneth guy in my life
This is, those 3 wolf spirits carried me all the way to and past morgott
Nepheli's first Hawk Tuah.
bro is really coping to get these happy moments
The dog in front of Gowry’s shack definitely attacks you
There’s something really funny about Radahn, the notorious warlord who loves violence, being a softy for animals.
I choose to believe that he would get excited at seeing a new species on any given journey. Maybe have some notebook entries for them.
