I would love this for my basement arcade in more of a imperial style. I just discovered your channel today. It has great content! You're definitely an inspiration to want to try my own things. 👍
Dude you are absolutely killing it! It's difficult enough to produce projects with this level of skilled craftsmanship, but even crazier to do it at such a high production value that is so informative! You have my sub now and forever that's for sure. Keep it up and Adam Savage is going to be knocking down your door for inspiration. MTFBWY!
Definitely unexpected but welcomed! I love these builds that you do that are very different than what everyone else is doing on UA-cam. This gave me a really good idea for the lighting in my star wars room project! Thanks again!
ExtremeLegoLife we really appreciate that. I enjoy regular prop builds and projects as much as the next maker, but we also wanted to show how you can build some crazy stuff as well 🤓. We are sure glad you enjoy these kinds of builds!
Dude that is AWESOME!!! The LED's really make it pop and bring it to life. You mentioned neon.... if you haven't already look into el wire, clear plastic pipe and a heat gun to achieve the look. Once again awesome build keep it up!!!!
Thanks for the shout out! You don't have to mention my name... just glad you liked the name tag and you were able to use it! How about "Billy the Squid"? Lol, that's a very Star Wars-ish name. Never mind... sounded better in my head. Those LEDs always look so cool, especially with the grill. Nice work.
Thank you!!! I should have just threw out “Prop Rocks”. But I seriously appreciate the idea you shared. It worked out so smooth and easy, and it adds a great look to it.
Thank you! Absolutely. As a matter of fact we are going to have some programming and electronics content over the next three weeks that you won't want to miss.
my friend, i can promise you that we will 100% be doing that very thing! Ever since we made this we have been talking about it. Thank you for watching, so glad you liked the project!
I was just watching this…again…for the nth time. I had a weird question. When you’re building, painting, weathering the ship, are you building it as a model for the sign? Or as a reproduction of the characters ship? I had a thought that it’d be interesting to build it as a miniature of his ship, weathered as a full scale ship. Then do the weathering for the sign hanging in a dirty cantina in some grubby spaceport. So, two styles of weathering (2 scales). Could be cool challenge for the future.
I thought your character was going to be the pilot of the smuggler's room or be viewed from a window inside it, similar to what is in the line of StarTours Ride. This sign turned out great!
Thank you. I never thought about having him as the pilot, that’s a great idea. I was pretty tunnel-visioned on the arcade owner, but I like where your head is!
Awesome video! Loved the 2 parterand the final piece! How about the alien's name as "Siriten Onc". It's "INSERT COIN" scrambled, like the glowing red things on arcade machines.
Awesome work! Thanks for the shout out to subscribe to another great fan artist after the video, especially since that's exactly the topic I was looking for this week.
ROCCOTHEGREAT I like where you are going with this. I think we might have to build a “shop-mate” and make him/her animatronic? I’ve always wanted to build something like that! Thanks!!!
@@TheSmugglersRoom exactly! that's where i thought this was going. i mean the sign looks amazing! just a missed opportunity to me, you can make your own galaxys edge in your shop!

Yep, you bet. On the sign it reads “credits only” on the bottom right, and “no droids” on the top left. The dash and dot symbols that you see in the video are also numbers, and for those I chose dates; my wife and I’s anniversary, and her birthday.
We are looking a building a custom cabinet for the room project, and I’m going to incorporate a Nintendo Switch, as well as another emulator that I picked up last year. We hope to show several ways to have your favorite classic games as well as new things like an Xbox One.

Ok I'm 1 minute in and please get out of my head! I spent about 3 hours the other night researching arcade signs, like the old tin boardwalk signs with bulbs for ways to make a Star Wars version... Ok now I'm gonna resume watching lol
LOL!! Thank you very much, so glad you liked it and hope it helps with your project. (So for getting into your head, it just seemed like such a creative space to be ;)
You've skipped showing a paint layer with your masking process. This is how classic star wars paint rash and chipping is done. base coat and apply chipping with latex mask. then apply the next colour (silver for metal in the paint chip) and re apply mask in the same areas you applied the 1st mask layer then do your final coat. (three paint layers (base coat primer rust, silver and orange ) and two mask layers) then peel the mask off.
Hey there, sorry for skipping that step on this episode. We’ve shown it on so many of our episodes going back the last year that we sort of jumped over it here, thanks for mentioning it and breaking it down!
Dude, I love your enthusiasm and honesty. When you said itd bee awesome to use neon but you didnt know how to do that, yet. Truely awesome. A geek after my own heart. Keep it up dude.
I like your humor!
Can a TV studio please give This Chubby Geek a show of his own? :)
Dinnie Stones LOL!!! You are awesome!!!
Shoot. I thought I was watching his show on my TV
Could see this sign fitting in perfectly in the depths of Coruscant with some shady character selling Death sticks outside.
Right???? That’s the idea. Thanks so much!

I like the addition of the custom ship repaint and the back lit arcade. I think the led lights are more in universe than neon would have been.
Thank Wayne, good point for sure.

Could totally simulate the neon with a multi segment EL wire. The arduino should be able to run an inverter to make such a thing work.
Thank you for the great idea! We are totally going to have to try that! Much appreciated!
Hot damn!! Beautiful! We should be ready for you in 3 weeks! Let’s make a plan 😀
