Thank you for showing us your lure and your set up. After being frustrated too many times this helps.
Definitely that’s what all about sharing with fellow fishermen
Good luck out there
Looks like a blast man! Can't wait to get out to catch a couple soon!
Thanks a lot man , we will have to get out for a fish sometime!
@@GalensFishing absolutely!!
Great Video, looks like a hoot. I live in the Hali County, I'll have to set up a rig and give it a try.
Thanks for sharing.
It's awesome and very addicting lol thanks for watching hopefully more videos coming soon
I am in Haliburton on the 5 lake chain and have not caught a X#$%I thing. Now you are showing this steel fishing line set up and it just complicated everything even more...I have 4 conventional fishing rods with a number of different tackle (not targeting bass right now as it is out of season) but was hoping to get One Walleye ok I'll take a frigging perch!
All my big Lakers come off that old school steel line technique !
Ya it works awesome 👌. Especially on smaller lakes
Never tried steel line fishing, looks awesome man, and a friggin workout haha. Soooo, when am I coming up with the yak? Great video brotha 🤙🏼
Any time man !!!. Thanks
Ya I haven't been able to get out much last couple summers, so I was a little excited to even get a fish!!!. I'm out of shape 🤣
Using steel, what kind of speed do you troll at to get the line down to the depth you need?
It's best to crank the speed right up. Fast is good to get it out quick. To slow and the bait will stay on top of the water
I put my trolling motor to full speed. Hard on the batter tho. Thanks for watching
@@GalensFishing Had a conversation with your brother yesterday. Looking forward to booking some time on the water with you later this season.
How do you setup your rod with the line to make it go down? If you don’t mind shareing may have to give this method a try!
You need a rod with a spring mounted on the end, this prevents stainless steel line from cutting into eye. You need to buy stainless steel Fishing line from a company called old timer, they are in king city Ontario. I speed the motor up to get the line off the reel well holding with my thumb as it goes out. Every 100 feet of line you put out it takes you roughly 10 feet down. Using bigger heavier baits helps alot. I'm gonna do a better how to video on line etc. Thanks for watching and if like the video subscribe for more content.
Thanks
A reel with a line counter is important and a reel that will hold 500 yards of line
Thanks
Steel like ? Isent it lead?
No it's stainless steel Fishing line. It's made right in Ontario by a company called old timer there in King City. Been around along time. Thanks for watching.
@@GalensFishing geuss safer for the water then lead core
@@trentt4618 ya there is lead core and copper but they don't seem to work as well in my opinion. Tight lines
What lake are you on in haliburton?
Sorry man I'm not gonna name the lake on here it's small and already gets fished hard. But there is lots of lakes in Haliburton with Trout, and alotnof them are really good fishing, Thanks for watching
