If you know you know and if a Range Rover Owner had to explain it to somebody, they probably still wouldn’t understand! I have a love hate relationship with mine for all the reasons you gave, but at the end of a long driving day covering 100s of miles, I have no backache, no tiredness, have peered over hedges and seen potential road incidents coming up. When I have driven 3 hours I don’t look forward to a rest from driving. No, I look forward to climbing in the driver’s seat and getting going again. Fit the 22” rims with a set of Cooper AT3 tyres for winter and you have at your disposal a virtually unstoppable all season all round mode of transport. They get through the deep Fords on UA-cam when bigger vehicles get hydro locked. Folk love to mock them, but once driven, you’re smitten. Power, grace and ruggedness combined is an attractive mix. I defy anyone who’s ever been on a Land Rover Experience or pulled up outside a swanky hotel to argue otherwise. Great video, thanks for posting it 👏
Thanks for watching pal! Great feedback! Enjoy yours my friend and thanks again for supporting the channel!
It seems 90% of people just parrot what they hear or read. Never owned one and just ramble on about reliability.
The issue with luxury vehicles like Range Rovers is they depreciate quite quickly. Then they end up in the ownership of people who run them on a shoe string budget which leads to problems down the line.
I bought my L494 and it had a few niggles right off the bat. All easily fixed myself for under £500 all in. I also set out to get an SDV8 since they generally have less niggles anyway. I read stories or the snapped crank but it’s like any catastrophic engine failure. You read about the few that fail but don’t hear about the thousands of others there don’t fail. It’s like the spun crank hub failure on BMW S55 engines. If you were to believe the internet they are garbage and just a ticking time bomb.
Bought a Range Rover sport 2012 55k on the clock just got back from 3 months travelling Europe down to Italy and back 3500 miles covered stunning just everyday put that grin on face 😊
Excellent work pal! Great to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Mate everything u said is bang on bro!
Much appreciated my man! Thanks for the feedback pal 👍
You tell them. I used to own a Discovery 4 and a Discovery Sport but I tell you what....RANGE ROVER SPORT is on another level. Yeah baby 😂👍
Im with you on that! Thanks for watching!
I purchased a new Range Rover Sport SDV8 in 2017. It went back to the dealership on average 3 times per year for Warranty issues. I put up with it for 6.5 years because the drive was so good when it was on the road. I decided it was not reliable enough so I then purchased a new Porsche Cayenne GTS Coupe in 2023. It has been back to the dealership once for its first service. It drives really well but the Rangie had a better ride height. Still, I'm not complaining.
Yep, I do hear that sometimes for sure! The Porsche is a very nice car! I agree, the ride height puts you in a nicer position for wafting around I reckon, but the Porsche is a solid drive! Lovely car indeed! Thanks for watching and commenting pal
The reason why the Range Rover Sport is so popular…..
It’s closer in size to the original Range Rover
The big fat daddy Range Rover is over weight and to big in size!!!
The worst thing about the Range Rover Sport is…… it doesn’t have a split tailgate!!!!! Proper Range Rovers should have a split tailgate!!!
Also I would never buy a car Range Rover with a WHITE INTERIOR!!!!
Good video……
Regards Ian 👨🎤🇳🇿👍🍸🍸
Definitely share
Your opinion ok the split tailgate Ian 👍 thanks for watching and commenting mate
"Should something catastrophic happen I'm not financially responsible for it" - most warranties only pay a maximum of £5,000 per claim and major engine work can be well over double that. LR engines are notorious for problems so good luck mate.
I'd be interested to know the limits of his warranty. It's a fair point you raise. The extended official land rover warranty would be the best albeit more to purchase and only covers upto 10 years iirc
Good points raised but indeed all about the warranty limitations, they are certainly available with a claims limit up to the value of the car, as I am in the industry I have opted for the £6000 claim limit per claim, so I would go for a refurbished unit or a rebuild, but I would advise anyone outside the ability to have this on their doorstep, the larger claims limit, the better "just in case".
Rich people don't buy them, they lease them.
Fact 👍
How do you think the latest X5 compares? They can look nearly as good, more reliable, far better infotainment, better choice of engines. Im struggling to choose between them! Love the image, prestige, and opulence of the rangey!
So the new X5 I have had some experience with and it is a lovely car, still doesn't have the driving feel that an equivalent Range Rover has but the newer I-Drive is good and certainly better than the Land Rover infotainment but I've always said that of BMW's I-Drive, it is sincerely down to preference if comparing apples to apples. Drive them both and go from there is my advice mate
@GregandCraigsGarage Thanks mate. In terms of spec, I'd be wanting the X5 (or RRS) to have ivory leather and panoramic roof, similar to yours.
It's a tricky choice, the X5 will inevitably be more of an upfront purchase but with lower running costs. I'll take your advice and give them both a look!
@@Chris-nj1mr Nice one mate, give em both a go for sure! You can get the spec you want with either. Good luck mate and thanks again for watching and engaging! 👍
As someone who has owned both a late Sport and a Cayenne I agree with you on external looks but for the cabin the Cayenne is hands down better to look at and use. Simply no comparison in terms of quality, fit and finish.
Otherwise its a win to the Sport for most occasions.
Love that feedback, I’m glad we don’t all agree on stuff but can still remain appreciate of everyone’s tastes and preferences. Thank you for watching and commenting 😁👍
I bought 2 Range Rover Sports in the space of a month. One a '21 plate P400 with 4500 miles and the other a '22 plate D300 Autobiography with 11800 miles. Both went back to the Range Rover dealers. Quite the most badly built overhyped pieces of rubbish I have ever had - even if they were for only a day. Bought a BMW X5 40D, a million miles better in every way. Range Rover sold on perceived image. There's a reason why Sports lose so much value so quickly. I definitely dodged 2 bullets there.
Yes granted rr sport looks cool
But I’ve had my Mercedes glc 2017 for 4 years now superb
Mechanical wise Land Rover doesn’t come anywhere near merc sorry guys 👌🏻
Thanks for watching my man! Agree to disagree on that, but thats what makes the world interesting. Stay well
A mercedes glc is up against a discovery sport not a range rover sport
