Thank you so much! I'm 5'4 and a backspot on a junior 2 team I've never flown before but my coach told me next season she wants me to be on a senior team so I can fly. I am very flexible, tight with my motions, very good facials, and I love to perform so that's why she wants me to fly but I am very nervous but I do want to fly so I will do this a lot to prepare for next season. I am a self taught gymnast who just started all star cheer this season. I started off as a base on level one, but now I have been moved up to level two and they want me to be a flyer bc I'm super flexible. I tried flying for the first time last week and it was SO HARD. But thanks to this video I realised all the little things I was doing wrong, and I can't wait to put the things I've learned into practice. I'm gonna be working on my body positions and balance at home now, too.

I was a base 9 months, im a flyer since yesterday and all was fine, but i cant do the extension... I dont know why but i always go back in the load as soon as they try to get me up. I just too scared dough..😥 has anyone done similar things or has tips?
When you do a extension don’t think about falling. Instead think about reaching for a huge first place golden trophy. I’m a experienced flyer and this tip always works for me

Do you know how to get more ankle strength without ankle weights? I always have a problem with rolling them and it kinda hurts when doing stunts because of all the pressure and my right leg is weaker than my left. Thanks!

Hey, i was wondering if you could help me out(: so I'm very flexible, I have a good needle & a bow and arrow on both legs (right is hyper-extended, left touches my head) and I'm very interested in flying, I've done a little in the past (not this season but the last) but I get tumbling pretty quickly so I am moving up levels each year. I have no problem with the flexibility in flying, it's really just the balance and staying really tight. I am 5'5, so I'm kind of tall to fly & I need to be even tighter than people who are like 5' aha. Do you have any tips? I've always loved the feeling of being in the air, and I really want to be a successful flyer! Thank you so much, and I lovee your channel by the way(:
Tbh, I've seen loads of comments asking what to do if you dont have ankle weights, my advice is use heavy shoes such as combat boots for example until you find what you're looking for. Just in case anyone really wanted to know :)

+Cami Coookie I have tutorials on scorpion and needle, which will help tons! Focus on keeping your legs on a straight line - scales are good practice, too!

Hi!! I'm a flyer and im struggling while doing a basket toss. I know its not any of the bases or spotters faults because they can do it almost perfectly with other flyers. Any tips for doing it without hurting bases or spotters and without falling to the sides? Im always very tight and I put my legs together when they throw me so im not exactly sure whats going wrong.

eliza eli make sure your bases are at an even height - super important! Squeeze EXTRA tight as you go up.

Height won't hinder flying ability. I'm always taller than the other flyers, and it works out totally fine, trust me. 💖

I found out that I am a flyer today and I am really nervous and it is pretty scary at first but after doing it a few times I got more comfortable

Videotape it to see where it’s off. It might be that you’re thrusting backwards to launch yourself, which can result in a slight lean sideways

Practice going from teddy bear to target (single-leg cupie) - then pull your heel stretch. Gradually reduce the lag time until it’s one smooth motion!
