Shut THIS down for Nuclear? It doesn't make sense!

  • Converting Coal fired power to Nuclear is a United Nations Net-Zero scam.
I support Nuclear. It's one step cheaper than the Bowen/Albanese wind and solar pipe dream, we should absolutely remove the ban.
But Peter Dutton only wants nuclear because it complies with the United Nations Net-Zero targets, which his party is fully committed to. Now he's saying he will forcibly acquire Coal Stations, shut them down, and convert it to Nuclear.
Tarong Power Station in South Queensland that I'm in front of here is one of those. It sits right on top of a coal mine and we have 40 years of figures proving exactly what it costs, and it's cheap.
Let nuclear on our grid, but let the cheapest generators we have, coal, stay. That's the only way anyone will get cheaper power.

We are 'propagandised' into thinking China is taking all of our resources.
They are a major player. But you LOOK at the companies HERE that are exporting it all (stealing it really from Australia for pennies).
And its US, UK and Japanese corporations.
Our own so called 'allies' rape our assets to give to their countries 1st and we have to buy back whatever they let us!
We literally let them take it and then buy back our own commodities! Look at the Japanese 10 year gas deal, you will be disgusted by our politicians letting something like that even happen.
Someone is getting kickbacks that's all I know.

7 million people die from the affect of fossil fuel pollution per year.
Less than 100 people world wide have died from radiation ever.
Now you'll say what about Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

When the wind is blowing from either power station, all you can smell is burning coal and it's terrible. Not only that, nuclear would provide much more base load power. Why not instead of a second coal fire station, build the nuclear one next to the coal fire, then remove the coal fire one. Building a second coal fire power station next to the first one is seriously ludicrus. I would much rather you(One Nation) doing it than the Libs or Labor but it would certainly be better. Coal has had it's day for power generation and it seems a shame to be shipping our uranium overseas for other countries to power their stations and not us.

The government has taken the country so far backwards that we are at the beginning of what it means to start a civilisation. Thank God we know about farming, but here we are watching our politicians scratching their heads on how to provide the country with affordable energy when we've already figured this out. I hear Labor has been closing down coal power stations, which ended up increasing the cost of energy. Just like how ATM's are being closed all around the country, and Labor saying that Australians don't use cash, so let's go cashless. All manufactured garbage. If we want cheaper energy, one doesn't have to look far, but look toward Russia. Russia is at war with the world, sanctioned into oblivion, and Russia's energy is more affordable then what we have here in Australia. How does this make sense? China has around 3000 coal powered fire stations, and ongoing, and those coal power stations are used to build our solar panels, and wind farms. Make it make sense! Enough with the stupidity. The real magic trick with the upcoming election will be seeing how our "leaders" will be able to build a strong Australian economy without sinking the country deeper into debt. No wonder their is no Australian political party that represents the majority, we are divided, but at the same time we all want the same thing. An affordable, and obtainable standard of living!

    • @princephilip-v5t
      @princephilip-v5t 16 днів тому

I don't think the modern left do want affordable obtainable living. They have been taken over by city based elitism of a higher moral set than the rest. They earn high wages and are not bothered by rising power prices, it shelters them from rising domestic power prices. In the 90s all greens said power is too cheap, that cheap power is the problem. They got their wish as they got older and gained power. Their voter base just votes Labor no matter what but their party does not represent their desire for obtainability, apart from socialism funneling money to them.
But yes, good commentary you make. That Russia at war has way better energy than australia is just astonishing. And that we have gone backward, trying to reinvent cheap electricity when we did that years ago.

I think we've offered to take nuclear waste from other countries, principally because of geological considerations. However, geologist, Prof. Ian Plimer would be up to speed on that much more than me.

I worked as a bespoke solutions provider in the bleeding edge of the renewable/battery/electrical industry - did work work for DFAT, BoM, ADF, Councils, other agencies….you are correct.
The majority of people I dealt with or observed had no idea how the technology actually worked, it’s limitations or what is even possible - or is technically feasible to do. The grid is not currently capable of doing as they plan, and their plans are insane.
The entire grid would need HVDC systems everywhere and inverters and condensers and this all creates flow on effects for everything else connected.
    We need coal.
Renewables are a scam for grid scale and more….they still have many applications where it is the best or the only option. Anyone who camps or is off grid will tell you.
Nuclear ain’t happening anytime soon but it’s worth doing.
