Shut THIS down for Nuclear? It doesn't make sense!

- Converting Coal fired power to Nuclear is a United Nations Net-Zero scam.
I support Nuclear. It's one step cheaper than the Bowen/Albanese wind and solar pipe dream, we should absolutely remove the ban.
But Peter Dutton only wants nuclear because it complies with the United Nations Net-Zero targets, which his party is fully committed to. Now he's saying he will forcibly acquire Coal Stations, shut them down, and convert it to Nuclear.
Tarong Power Station in South Queensland that I'm in front of here is one of those. It sits right on top of a coal mine and we have 40 years of figures proving exactly what it costs, and it's cheap.
Let nuclear on our grid, but let the cheapest generators we have, coal, stay. That's the only way anyone will get cheaper power.
China and the world are laughing themselves stupid at albo, Bowen and the whole climate change circus
You bet. They're cashing in, all of them, especially China because that's where this renewable garbage is being made.
We are 'propagandised' into thinking China is taking all of our resources.
They are a major player. But you LOOK at the companies HERE that are exporting it all (stealing it really from Australia for pennies).
And its US, UK and Japanese corporations.
Our own so called 'allies' rape our assets to give to their countries 1st and we have to buy back whatever they let us!
We literally let them take it and then buy back our own commodities! Look at the Japanese 10 year gas deal, you will be disgusted by our politicians letting something like that even happen.
Someone is getting kickbacks that's all I know.
they're making trillions out of this climate bullcrap
Best quality coal in the world and we can't use it
yep! doesn't make sense
Instead, use 1000's of litres of diesel to ship it to China and 1000's of litres of diesel to bring back solar panels.
Free bag of dirt with your solar panels anyone ?
Absolutely we should be using our coal
If it's good enough for China and India to burn OUR coal then it's good enough for us.
Australia should be serviced before 1 ounce is exported. Same with gas.
Hella corrupt
Coal is a God given resource. Use coal. Win the next election ONE NATION!
Operation labour Bismark go.
Keep our high-grade coal for coking coal. Dont sell it to china and dont use it as thermal coal, burn brown coal for thermal
It’s just compressed sunlight…and they’re really really scared of it!
No such thing as God given anything.
@glennllewellyn7369 by product isn't good but the by product of manufacturing green technology from glass certainly isn't.
100% right senator, love your work
Why haven't you explained to the people how Central Banking works Malcolm?
Thank you Malcolm.
A voice of sanity among a herd of inane fools.
We are the laughingstock of the world when it comes to our current energy generation policy. Does anybody think any other country would ditch their coal and gas reserves if they had any? We can go hundreds of years with our known reserves and hundreds more if we restart exploration. Malcolm Roberts and One Nation is the only party talking sense in the parliament today.
Every country I visited they laughed at me.
Too right mate
What's the difference between coal and nuclear because we have both in abundance.
Why would we only be the laughing stock of the world through not using coal?
7 million people die from the affect of fossil fuel pollution per year.
Less than 100 people world wide have died from radiation ever.
Now you'll say what about Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The truth is nuclear weapons have nothing to do with power generation but they did stop world wars.
Countless millions of lives saved because at the rate we were going we'd be up to about world was 6 by now.
Some people might find it funny that we might help stop the slaughter of the innocents but I don't.
When people are ready to deal with the real problem at play that will end
Didn't you like my previous comment?
We are the laughing stock of the world through being the only G20 country not using nuclear.
Dead right
Chris Bowen is a nut case should be locked up
I think he keeps zee evil oligarchs happy, allegedly.
Locked up for insanity as the rest of tham I really don’t see any reason for this rubbish use what we have
And to think we export 300million ton of the stuff every year on average. Hmmmm
The coal that we don't burn in Australia is burnt overseas and we burn diesel to ship it there. If you really care about emissions, you'll burn coal as close to where it's mined as possible.
Stop talking commonsense
I'm not against coal. Just nuclear is better. In my opinion it always has been. Australian ban is so backwards.
If anyone's concerned about the nonsensical CO2 emissions garbage, look no further than the world's oceans and river systems, because that's where 405 ppm of the current 420 ppm concentration originate. The pollies don't know that, and neither do the media or business. Even if they did, they wouldn't admit it anyway.
@@1986tessiel have to respectfully disagree. Coal and gas beat nuclear in cost and environmental damage IMOA . Research and solutions into the issues with nuclear need to be addressed first. Having man made deadly isotopes with a half life of thousands of years behind released into the environment at present is a deal breaker for me. The fact that even the USA cannot build a permanent storage facility and releases it into the ocean is another.
Exactly 👍 🇦🇺
This is another reason to vote One Nation an fight against the uniparty agenda.
Too much common sense.
we dont want these wind turbines out here, nor their solar farms either at Kingaroy , Kumbia, area, they lost there marbles.
Thank you Senator.
And if we stop using coal then we should not export it. all we are doing is exporting pollution elsewhere, lets use it here
black GOLD
He makes a good point.
Agree 💯
We are stuck in a treaty when we are energy-rich & they will shut down everything for it
The Paris accords are voluntary yet they're regarded as locked in.
@@dfor50 Perhaps? Just how voluntary is a treaty + law court win in Switzerland for climate change that ruled against the government not doing enough and being tried elsewhere.
@@brmead3133 That's right. Voluntary becomes mandatory when governments become committed.
Thank you, Senator.
Just give coal a new green name, Albo can tell everyone he's just invented it, good to go
GREEN COAL 😊😊
A reliable source of CO2, the gas of life.
People do appear stupid enough to believe it.
Too sensible for today's mentality. Thank you Senator.
We are on the same path a Venezuela as in the shut down of our mining wealth and too much social spending. I don’t think people realise how easy it is for a country to go broke and their citizens suffer within a few years. From one of the wealthiest countries to starvation that was Venezuela
You’re right Malcom. This is Bullshit. Love your work mate 👍
Good on you Mal!
Power from the refurbished coal power station as per your plan would make building a sister nuclear plant cheaper to build!
Stop talking commonsense 😂
Peter Dutton is Anthony Albanese liblabs uniparty
It's great to see people finally realising this!
@@nutterknoll69 100% mate. Most don't see through the facade
pull your head out of the hole they are totally different one is destroying the country and the other is trying to save the country
Opposite ends of the same turd. 😎👊👍🇦🇺
if your all so smart how come you voted labour in,
Thank goodness at least Sntr Roberts sees through this utter BS and calling it out.
Mal is one of the few that make any sence😊
What a stupid Labour Party always doing the wrong thing
*Labor Party
Will Dutton stop the 400 million tonnes of coal export when he builds nuclear ?
Export coal is burnt into the same atmosphere as ours.
We have the skilled workers to build the absolute state of the art coal boilers with the latest efficient design. We are ready to go !
Ise it as coking coal for our own manufacturing
Half agree, tearing down a working power station is ludicrous, but phasing out the old ones or broken down ones to nuclear till fission is available is the go.
Gotta look at today without neglecting tomorrow.
Disagree coal and gas is the current answer. Then research and develop better alternatives as we investigate them. This could take our government 100 years to do and coal and gas could still be part of best option.
please every one vote One nation for saving Australia you me and our children and way of life 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Vote One Nation, you have my vote that's for sure.
Mine too!
Absolutely correct, Australia has some of, if not the most cleanest coal in the world, yet we send it all overseas and leave ourselves the crumbs.
Another thing. We need more competition in the energy sector, in Toowoomba all we have is Ergon, we can’t shop around and are being held to ransom
I don't trust Dutton as far as I could kick him, but I live in between 2 coal fire power stations here in Gippsland Victoria and I do know that Nuclear would be much better than coal for power. When the wind is blowing from either power station, all you can smell is burning coal and it's terrible. Not only that, nuclear would provide much more base load power. Why not instead of a second coal fire station, build the nuclear one next to the coal fire, then remove the coal fire one. Building a second coal fire power station next to the first one is seriously ludicrus. I would much rather you(One Nation) doing it than the Libs or Labor but it would certainly be better. Coal has had it's day for power generation and it seems a shame to be shipping our uranium overseas for other countries to power their stations and not us.
I agree
The coal burnt in Queensland doesn't smell. I am only 5km from the big Gladstone power station. Keep burning our coal, used to say we had 400 years supply.
I had to scroll down to far to see some reason. That makes me sad. Coal must be phased out, just because your neighbor are pollouting doesn't give us an excuse to either.
1%of carbon in this country is not pollution try pulling the other leg
@@timbieler2664I cannot see a single logical reason to change to nuclear. Why do you think it is a better option.
Vote one nation instead of that fooly
You've got a choice. lose it and get intermittent renewables or lose it and get reliable nuclear.
Sometimes you don't have the best options, so you take the best available.
The government has taken the country so far backwards that we are at the beginning of what it means to start a civilisation. Thank God we know about farming, but here we are watching our politicians scratching their heads on how to provide the country with affordable energy when we've already figured this out. I hear Labor has been closing down coal power stations, which ended up increasing the cost of energy. Just like how ATM's are being closed all around the country, and Labor saying that Australians don't use cash, so let's go cashless. All manufactured garbage. If we want cheaper energy, one doesn't have to look far, but look toward Russia. Russia is at war with the world, sanctioned into oblivion, and Russia's energy is more affordable then what we have here in Australia. How does this make sense? China has around 3000 coal powered fire stations, and ongoing, and those coal power stations are used to build our solar panels, and wind farms. Make it make sense! Enough with the stupidity. The real magic trick with the upcoming election will be seeing how our "leaders" will be able to build a strong Australian economy without sinking the country deeper into debt. No wonder their is no Australian political party that represents the majority, we are divided, but at the same time we all want the same thing. An affordable, and obtainable standard of living!
I don't think the modern left do want affordable obtainable living. They have been taken over by city based elitism of a higher moral set than the rest. They earn high wages and are not bothered by rising power prices, it shelters them from rising domestic power prices. In the 90s all greens said power is too cheap, that cheap power is the problem. They got their wish as they got older and gained power. Their voter base just votes Labor no matter what but their party does not represent their desire for obtainability, apart from socialism funneling money to them.
But yes, good commentary you make. That Russia at war has way better energy than australia is just astonishing. And that we have gone backward, trying to reinvent cheap electricity when we did that years ago.
There only two parties that are serious about asserting our sovereignty and that’s the Australian Citizens Party and One Nation. Although One Nation has to realise that the problem was the Neoliberal policies thrust upon this country that created all the harm, not China. We need to stop listening to institutions like ASPI with their anti China policies, who are largely funded by international weapons manufacturers. ASPI has the ears of both major parties.

Senator Roberts ✔️ you are the man💯✔️👍. Speaking the TRUTH.
100% finally the truth.
Spot on Malcolm! I've been telling the boys at work Peter and Albo are both taking the piss because of This Fact!
I don't believe I'm saying this, but well done, one nation,
an island of reality in a sea of diarrhoea of Australian politicians
sounds like a solid plan to me.
Great work Malcolm, you speak sense contrasted with the chaotic madness that personifies labor.
Nuclear is absolutely ridiculous. But I will vote for it in face of the insanity of the other choice on the table.
Stop the sweeping statements and give us all your examples of what makes nuclear ridiculous.
If I told you yellow cake was highly radioactive you'd believe that too.
Yellow cake is so dangerous they ship it by truck on public roads in steel 200 lt drums.
So much garbage has been spread through the media about nuclear.
It's time we heard the facts.
The only G20 country that doesn't have nuclear and they're all wrong and we're right.
Now you’re THINKING,👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Eg: Re Open Marsden Point with Ozzie support...
Finally a politician who says what is the most logical answer to this problem!
Exactly Malcolm….and so is the $500 MILLION that is being spent on a battery at TARONG POWER STATION
Well said. We are a laughing stock!!!!
The country that handles our government and economy has other ideas. What we the people want is totally irrelevant.
Thank you Senator Roberts 👍👍👍!
It's the supply charge that's killing us, mine went from 80c a day up to $1.40!!! It should be 10c a day if that!
If we had a bullsh*t borometer it would be blowing a hurricane. Lol
Australia needs to losen their dependence on imported fuel. We need to produce sustainable bio diesel for the coming struggle.
Once again you are spot on the money Sen. Roberts ... *the others are just looking at how much they can line the pockets of the brainless !!*
Coal… clean? No coal is by definition dirty. And expensive.
It's by far the cheapest which is why we have been using it for decades
@@jokerman0000 That must be why the banks are falling over themselves to lend for new coal plants. Solar used to be expensive and was 1% efficient. Now it is cheap and 20% efficient. They're already testing solar which is 50% efficient and will be even cheaper. Coal just keeps on getting more expensive. This is aside from the health risks of coal and coal mining.
@@grumnut1 So why is solar energy subsidized? Why does the government need to intervene? What bank, what new coal plants? We are talking about Australia right? Because clearly our government is currently backing "green energy" and trying to reduce carbon emissions so they are in the process of decmmisioning our coal power plants. BTW what are your thoughts about intermittency?
@@jokerman0000 We tried to get a subsidy, but all we could get was a loan, so I wasn't that interested. However, why have subsidies on oil and coal increased so much lately? What bank? All the bloody banks. They have made it clear they will not lend for a coal-fired plant. Coal plants are not being decommissioned by the government. They are simply getting to end of life and need replacing with something. No one will lend for a replacement coal plant, so clearly, it has to be something else.
SA ran for 180 days completely on solar and wind in 2021. It will be 100% of the year by 2027. By 2050 they will be producing 500% of needs, supplying a fair bit of Victoria's requirements
At least somebody's talking sense. Make coal great again. Vote One Nation!!!!
They avoid common sense and logic like it's something to be ashamed of.
Exactly Senator 💯🇦🇺
Asia has cheap reliable Australian coal delivered, I'm moving there and joining the laughing crowd at Australia government's
If nuclear waste is so safe why does America want to dump theirs in central Australia?
I think we've offered to take nuclear waste from other countries, principally because of geological considerations. However, geologist, Prof. Ian Plimer would be up to speed on that much more than me.
Please can we abolish the two party preferred system in Australia it has proven to be a farce.
It’s 2024, you need to move on and join the world
Well said Robert. Keep up the good work.👍🙏
It’s falling to pieces Malcolm. Long past its work life, unreliable and inefficient.
don’t b ridiculous Malcom that’s way to sensible and caters for the people of Australia and we can’t have that 🙄
Its Insanity & pure Evil
.say it loud Senator Malcolm Roberts..👊✊️🫶
'This is Bullshit'....haha...im with u senator but what an understatement😂😂😂
Vote One Nation for common sense government. We deserve it
Well said senator Roberts 🇦🇺
Agree entirely, the madness of this is incredible. Fukushima and Chernobyl come to mind do we want to take this risk?
I worked as a bespoke solutions provider in the bleeding edge of the renewable/battery/electrical industry - did work work for DFAT, BoM, ADF, Councils, other agencies….you are correct.
The majority of people I dealt with or observed had no idea how the technology actually worked, it’s limitations or what is even possible - or is technically feasible to do. The grid is not currently capable of doing as they plan, and their plans are insane.
The entire grid would need HVDC systems everywhere and inverters and condensers and this all creates flow on effects for everything else connected.
We need coal.
Renewables are a scam for grid scale and more….they still have many applications where it is the best or the only option. Anyone who camps or is off grid will tell you.
Nuclear ain’t happening anytime soon but it’s worth doing.
Exactly 100% Coal is still king in our country.
And a hail storm wont hurt it and leave a city without power. We can all see that one comming.
Did their global masters tell them to ruin our perfectly good coal industry. Those plans may apply to Europe, but we need different applications in our country
Stop making sense senator 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Agree, leave it burn the coal we have here
And helps the nourishment of vegetation...
Good on you Malcolm I think it's BS TOO
Tell it like it is, Senator.
Poor fella my country. Gone mad poor fella.
"This is bullshit"....you nailed it, Malcolm
Hear Hear........Hold the Line!
Coal now, coal AND nuclear later!
Thank you Senator insanity rules these days
Mate I was a big fan before. But this whole thing, the delivery and most of all the ending.
You sir should be running this country.
I agree Senator, build another power station next door. It makes sense if the reserves of coal are there.
They are insane
It does when they will give all the contracts to their international criminal mates
I agree it would be nice to Build other units onto these power stations but twenty years ago, all Governments have bungled Power Generation!
Keep coal going, stop all solar and wind farms, keep solar on all new roofs, start building nuclear stations while running coal stations...its that simple.
Finally, someone talking sense.
Mr Roberts I don’t even believe in this religion But every day every night climate change they have said it so many times people really believe it’s laughable but sad 🇦🇺keep up the good work 🇦🇺
