- Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen says Peter Dutton is “not across the detail” on his nuclear energy policy.
Peter Dutton's argument of nuclear power being the best replacement for coal has been dismissed by the Australian Energy Market Operator as too expensive and slow.
“He’s making it up as he goes along,” Mr Bowen said during Question Time.
Pauline was on to the nuclear debate before Dutton was on board, VOTE ONE NATION 🇦🇺 PROBLEM SOLVED 👍

Albanese & Co. have entered the realm of desperation politics now that Dutton has taken the lead and excelled with his nuclear anouncement. Labor will intensify its juvenile and pointless attacks on Dutton and the LNP simply because it has no answer to the energy debate.

Chris Bowen is so across his portfolio, he is unable to articulate "nuclear" He repeatedly says "nucular" How embarrassing? He will go down a treat on the international stage. How hard can it be to learn and practice one word?

Labor talking about itself once again. New policy. The LNP really has to get nuclear industry people on board to handle the details of the policy. Labor telling lies - is not worth the paper it's written on.
I would rather someone who makes it up as they go along as opposed to a party that conspires to meet their own goals with no consideration of the consequences.

So Dutton is the opposition and he has a plan to see Australia energy secure for 100 years using primarily nuclear, but hasn't revealed the minutiae of that plan, and why would he show all his cards to Albo this far out from the election. But by way of comparison what are the details and costing for labors renewables plan including all the new infrastructure as well as the 15-20 year end of life redundancy, disposal and replacement strategy costing, Albo isn't exactly forthcoming with that information and this not what they are talking about, it's what they are doing.

In a year a SMR produces zero waste because the refueling schedule is 18 to 24 months.
Over 60 years they produce enough waste to cover a tennis court with the rods standing on end.
They say the 4th generation reactors will use old fuel rods and use them down to a near harmless waste product.
Pie in the sky - there isnt a commercially operating SMR anywhere on the planet, and we are unlikely to see any for a decade.
