- Long Story short. Buddy over heated his car. we tried taking out the thermostat to see if it still over heats and it did. tried taking out all the air bubbles from the system couple times still no luck. tried almost everything and coolant kept bubbling up in the reservoir of the car so 99% sure it was head gasket. so here we trying this cheap fix from blue devil and see if it works! Thanks for watching!

ONE YEAR UPDATE:
Car is down. head gasket cracked, lasted around 10k miles. pretty good for a bandage Temporary fix! Thanks everyone for watching!
TheRustyCracker so you had water in the res along with the bluedevil? Or is it blue devil by its self
water and bluedevil @@latoyawright3900
10,000 milea..thats pretty good..you know this was a tempo repair, untill you get the money for a head gasket set
TheRustyCracker is it ok to use the recommended blue coolant for my honda or do I have to use water? Mines mover got all the way hot. I noticed it going a little above the half mark on the dash so I shut it off while driving. Bin having to add coolant every weekend since. And does the thermostat need to be out? I’ve already had the water pump timing belt and tensioner replaced.
Greg Mccarter my local Subaru shop said they wouldn’t want to do the heads after because this stuff gunks up everything and the heads need to be pressure washed clean when gaskets finally get done.
Just so people know for future, if there is no radiator cap, you should pour it into the top radiator hose, NOT THE OVERFLOW TANK
You can put it in the radiatior resivor but yes do not put jack in the over flow lol its for exactly that over flow
Used this to fix a 98 monte carlo 3.8 with a leaking intake/head gasket, just added it directly to the radiator and idled the car for an hour with the heater on high (as per the directions on the bottle) and it worked like a charm...no coolant loss after 3 years and 35,000 miles!
Hello was it the yellow Hello
Can you advise can the HEAD GASKET REPAIR AND SEALER FIX - HEATER CORES - FREEZE PLUGS WARPED / CRACKED you used or the white one. Also did you flush the radiator first?
I used on my Mazda MPV 1998, the car has head gasket leak from coolant to piston. I followed the instruction to the letter and it seal the gasket. I have about 10,000 miles now and it is still holding strong. I did not believe the mechanic in a bottle before but now I am a true believer. Thanks for the Blue Devil.
Blue devil worked great for my 05 Silverado. I drove the truck without any concerns for another 50K+ miles. I did rebuild it eventually but not due to over heating or head gasket issues. Just thought it was time at 295K miles and when the trans went out... Follow the directions exactly on the bottle. Of course there will always be exceptions.
Wow. Thanks 🙏🏿 for your review
I like that invisable bucket all that coolent mixed with oil is going into, wow.
I thought I was the only one who noticed. He was confident he was catching it in a bucket.
Hey man for getting scammed and buying a car with a blown head gasket you sure made my day. Funny and informative, thanks mate
I didn't do any of that.. just simply added it to the radiator very slowly ran the car for a little over an hour with the heat on and was good.. car still works great 2 years later.
yea the bottle you used is called pour and go blue devil gasket sealer.... the one I got is more expensive and you have to do all this work
Jonathan Houle nice
Jonathan Houle really???
Jonathan Houle what was da systom of urs.
Chula N Morena i used blue devil small bottle. My car is a 90 4cyl Honda hatch.. results may very by vehicle..
I put that stuff in an old Plymouth Grand Voyager. The head itself was cracked much worse than Blue Devil claims to be able to fix, but it worked. Still driving the van daily one year later.
Did the blue devil treatment over 3 years ago. 60,000+ miles.... still good
Was the crack bad?
@@kiroshi6414 apparently not if it lasted 60K miles after the repair... lol
It was probably an external engine block leak ,, this dude had it internal
That’s because you didn’t have a head gasket leak you probably just had white smoke from an intake manifold gasket leak.
@@mj-7444 i sold the truck last August. It was blown head gasket at cyl 7.
Bro best thing ever, no more hesitation, no more white smoke... I was literally going to junk this camry
Update does it still run ?
Been having similar issues with my 2001 Camry. Does your car still run well?
@@Jojoliyecheri my mother had a 1999 Impala with a ton of issues, when she bought a new car she tried to trade it in and they wanted to charge her $100 bucks to junk it lol brought it to 2 different mechanics both said junk it not worth the money. I told my mom let me have it. Long story short by watching a ton of UA-cam replacing small things myself and using Blue Devil fluids for more then one issue (head gasket, transmission, oil leak etc.) I ended up having that car for another 2 years as my daily driver. When everyone said it was shot and beyond repair. I put about $300 bucks into it with basic fluid flushes, oil changes, and the different Blue Devil fluids. They work wonders! I ended up selling the car and the next owner drove that thing for 2 more years !!! (Not sure what work they had to do though) it ended up in a junk yard ironically in the new town I moved into lol. But yea sorry for the long story but it 100% is worth the investment because the fluids aren't cheap but it's alot cheaper then the repairs
I have a 2006 Kia Spectra that had a head gasket leak which would drain radiator in about 150 miles. I tried Blue Devil, took me most of a day to drain out coolant, run with cleaner, change thermostat etc. But the upshot is that Blue Devil sealed the leak and it's still OK approximately 17.000 miles later....that's just about as "permanent" as you could ask for $65.
This is for Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer in the large bottle. NOT the smaller bottle "pour n go".
4 years ago my 1994 chevy lumina Z34 with 119,000 miles started to overheat. Water, steam out the tailpipe, bubbles in the radiator and such. Never believed in the mechanic in a can. Followed the instructions EXACTLY!! MUST BE DONE EXACTLY as it says on the bottle or it won't work. It's a pain in the ass to do but it's worth it!! So now the car has over 150,000 miles on the engine it still is fine! I am amazed this stuff worked!! Saved me thousands on the head gasket replacement!!! This product has NO particles in it that can clog up your radiator or other tight places within the water system. It is crystal clear. And if anybody knows the 3.4 engine, to work on it is a major pain in the ass... The damn thing is shoe horned in. You need to pour it into the radiator directly if you have that option. My car only needed about half the bottle according to the chart on the bottle. Also used this stuff on my friends Chrysler LaBaron and it worked for him also!! Blue Devil, Live Long and Prosper!!!!
Does it really work for the vehicle my car is running hot
Really wish I'd checked into this, before tearing my engine down. Not sure it would have worked, but it would have been worth trying. You're right about it being a pain in the ass, and after getting it apart, I found that both heads were warped, so probably a good thing I tore it down, but I still would have liked to try this first. I'm almost ready to start reassembly, and I'm dreading it, because there's just no room.
I just used it on a 2008 Lexus ES 350. Crossing my fingers for the best or at least 50K miles. Is your Chevy still running. Let me know dude 👊
Will it work on a VW beetle? I have a blown head gasket but my oil was great looking. If so,how long will it last? Can I keep using it if it does work? I'm new to this! Only had the car 4 months long.
UPDATE: 6 MONTHS HAS GONE BY AND HE BLEW UP HIS WATERPUMP. MAYBE BECAUSE OF THE BLUE DELVIL? BUT WE WILL BE CHANGING THE PUMP AND SEE IF IT OVER HEATS AFTER THAT.
Changed the waterpump and now she is good again. no over heating... bluedevil still working.
This is good news for me. I'm about to throw some of this down my Buick and cross my fingers haha.
waterpump couldve been damaged from how hot it got originally when he blew it and just gave out its what happened to my 05 taurus
TheRustyCracker if anything the seals on the pump may have been going bad to begin with. You sealed the system up with bluedevil, that put pressure in it, the weak spot in the pump finally gave out, it took out the pump bearings. So worse case scenario here was a weak pump... no big deal really, it happens anyways.
Thanks for the update
1:24 " Straight to a bucket"...man, I was literally crying at that comment :)
Yeah you could see it was straight to the ground.
Lmao. Me too. Lmao. Where was the bucket That day 🪣 ??
Hooooo. e ' HOSE haha
This guys an idiot
Was about to tear down my motor but now going to do this and do a video. Thanks for uploading. Looks like a ton of people had a good experience
Its worth trying. I had an 03 ram with 175k. One morning i had full coolant loss and smoked the entire street. Put this stuff in. Held for over 60k miles and 4 more years before engine quit completely. Do it.
I fixed a cracked head on a 8.1 Chevy that had water constantly running out of the tailpipe.Sat and watched the water stop running.impressive shit.
I have the same problem water coming out of the tailpipe I want to try a product like this but I my AC system isn't working, do you think it would still work?
TopClass Music yea
Worked for me, I used the Bigger bottle. Flushed, took out the radiator twice. Took out the thermostat. Let it cool over night. Awesome stuff
yup... if you do it right... it should work.
Dennis Thompson can you help me bro
I used Bars Head Gasket Sealer Repair on my Jaguar XF. I didn't have to drain or flush the radiator. I got excellent results the check engine light went out, it stopped missing runs correctly and there is no smoke from the driver's side tailpipe. My car had never been hot and the mechanic said it was blown to the cylinder. I also had no water in the oil. Due to the aluminum block in my car I was told I'd need to replace the engine at a cost of 8-10 thousand dollars. It's been 2 weeks and the car is still running well and has lost no coolant. As far as I'm concerned I believe the Bars Leak Seal worked.
Now it just has to last until I trade in the car. Which will be ASAP!
lol yea your first mistake was getting a jaguar
Did Scotty Kilmer teach you that trick... I took out the leaking cylinder plug and ran it 30 min , waited an hour 3x then let it sit overnight. No steam out the pipe, But I retorqued the head which were way too loose. 20,000 miles later all is well ..
Good Stuff and good video..
Thanks
Blue devil is some awesome stuff. Used it on at least 5 different engines. Fixed every headgasket issue.
Do you keep thermostat removed when pouring in the blue devil
@@sedric6153 I didn't with the pour and go one.. That one the lady at AutoZone said you don't have to take out the thermostat so I didn't . I used it a few days ago and so far so good. Before I put that stuff in I couldn't go 8 miles down the road without being out of fluid and my engine getting hot. Think I'm good now ,knock on wood. Haven't lost any fluid so far.
@@backyardbuck6362 im tempted to try this stuff on my 99 civic..im just nervous on messing up the inside in the long run
@@JC-tu2ku IDK about it messing up anything in the long run . You may want to do some research to find out. I have heard of some people saying that it could clog up the heater core though. I have a lot of miles on my truck so I figured I'd try it. Still working good for me but you might want to dig around a little more research and see what others have experienced. Good luck.
@@backyardbuck6362 thankyou brother..cheers!!
I used the blue devil seal about 3 years ago on a 98 Toyota sienna and I didn't flush the coolant at all I just poured it in the reservoir and it worked
Blew the head gasket on my '97 Jeep Wrangler with 186K miles. White smoke from exhaust and bubbling in the overflow, and it was leaking like a sieve below the manifold...however I didn't identify any water or vapor mixed with the oil. When it overheated, it also blew the seals in the radiator. After replacing the radiator, I attempted to administer the Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer. THAT is when I discovered that the primary culprit...the catalyst for the entire dilemma was the water pump. I wasn't able to flush the system as the coolant wouldn't flow. So, water pump replaced and THOROUGHLY flushed coolant system. As opposed to this video, I added the sealer directly to the radiator, NOT the overflow reservoir. SKIP TO THE END....THIS SHIT ACTUALLY WORKED! Maintains constant 210° temperature, no leaks and runs like a top. So thankful! As it is a Jeep and NEVER heated up significantly in the winter, I opted NOT to install the thermostat. Figure it'd just increase the probability of overheating again, especially if the heater core were to become clogged. 2 thumbs up for BD products!

I have a 2002 Ford E250 V6, for 12 yrs now and with 376,000. Found chocolate milk in the oil pan. I had thought that the water was getting in by way of the head gaskets, but there was nothing in the tailpipe. Use Pour n Go by pouring it into the top radiator hose. It worked. Didn't have to remove the thermostat. I believe it was leaking somewhere at the lower intake manifold.
Mine lasted about 5,600 miles before it failed. Not bad. But it ended up being the freeze plug. Large hole that was a little harder to seal. But great job and great memories from the 5,600 miles driven. Would've lasted longer if the hole was smaller.
I just used it on my 2005 acura tl, it had bubbles in the radiator, and even had smoke bubbling out of the radiator, and moisture coming out of the tailpipes.... Now all that has stopped, AND its twice as fast again.. It bout gave me whiplash when i gassed it. .. Hell yeah, it saved my baby, the best car ive ever owned, and i 100% reccomend it..!
I want to try this product I don't want to waste my money my symptoms are like yours I scale through the comments to look at symptoms my symptoms is low compression and bubbling back into the radiator no smoke at all I have no smoke at all no oil mixing maybe I just have ring issues cars running now like that for two months I want to try this product what do you think again my issues are cars bubbling back through the radiator we take the radiator cap off the water gushes and low compression sounds like a Harley Davidson had a compression test done was like 85 95 and yes it's a turbo car turbo Ford probe GT 1989 four-cylinder just wondering what your thought is
@@rickblack7649 I cant tell you enough, that you need to do this. When my Acura had smoke coming out the top of the radiator, Ijust k ew it was time for a new engine... But my friend was there and he told me abiut Blue Devil...
Dude, I was, and still am amazed at th8s stuff.
Do it, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Blue Devil is the real deal. I couldn't believe it but it's worth every penny.
Didn't work for me. Had it in the system for 2 weeks. It helped though
@@sedric6153 really I just used the transmission kind and it worked for me again. And fast.
used it in Bonneville GM 3800 to seal intake, worked great. I flushed system twice to clean out the dex kill first.
I had about a pint of water per minute coming out of tailpipe. 6.2 diesel school bus. Removed thermostat and followed directions exactly. Within 10 minutes the water slowed to a trickle and within 40 minutes the water totally stopped. Smoke was gone as well. It's been a few days but fingers crossed it will hold up for a year or two. This stuff is really a miracle in a bottle 🧞♀️
NICE! yea good luck man. its definitely a bandage tho.
Stephen herceg is it still holding, the initial situation is very impressive
My brother's 89 Chevy Silverado 2500 was blowing huge plumes of white smoke and barfing coolant out the radiator cap like a hot spring I used blue devil and followed the instructions to the tee and it fixed it running smoothly and no steam at all I couldn't believe it, we were stranded at Fred Meyer grocery and this stuff is no joke it works if your engine still runs there's a very good chance this will fix it I haven't seen one even close to as bad as my brother's truck on these internet vids and it worked beautifully. If you can do the head gasket do but this is the real deal if you decide to use it. Bypass your heater core first,I didn't and the heater still worked fine, but I would still bypass it just because and make sure to take the thermostat out before adding it. It's a miracle worker. Make sure it's the yellow label that the professional grade and it works.
His car went down after 10,000 more miles not bad for about. A 65 dollar fix that gives you time to fix it right or buy another one thanks for the vid I just found this in August 2019
I used the pour and go, didnt work right away, took a few start stop cycles to do its job, but now its holding steady. This is an off road trail jeep, lots of hard driving, pressure on cooling system. Still holding three years later. 155,000 miles 1996 jeep 4.0 very happy, w no issues with plugged heater core or radiator. I didn't believe it myself.
That’s odd because it can only be activated by the heat one time.
Those GM engines have bleeder screws on the coolant system that need to be bled to release trapped air in the coolant system. 🛠
Mine broke
Stuff worked great for me! I had milky oil and white steam coming out of the exhaust and the whole bit. I followed instructions exactly as I read them besides the idling time and even checked each spark plug to see which cylinder it was leaking into. I idled my truck for an hour and then took the spark plug out of the leaky cylinder (and disconnected the injector) and let it idle for another 40 minutes with that cylinder open so that no pressure would push back against the sealer. No more missing coolant!!! 👍👍
yup works on most peoples cars. but not all
Did Scotty Kilmer teach you that trick... I took out the leaking cylinder plug and ran it also. But I retorqued the head which were way too loose. 20,000 miles later all is well ..
Did you need to change the oil twice? Once before putting in the Blue Devil and again after it had run for the hour?
Okay I just tried Blue Devil yes it works .my truck stop smoking did it the first time with the small bottle. I recommend you buy the big ones it's more concentrated but don't know anything about a long-term yet. but it's doing the job as of now .I recommend you flush out very very good I didn't take off the thermostat it work just fine as long as you flush out real good .I recommend you let it sit overnight then but drain the water out after and fill it up with antifreeze after motor has cool down .it started up in the morning a little smoke will come out but very very little went away less than a minute but barely can see it .Blue Devil you got my vote.
Worked good on my 04 Dodge neon 164k miles, we'll see how long it lasts.
MegaHugro NICE!
Still working ?
Is it still going?
Thanks for posting this. My 02 civic has been overheating for a few weeks now, replaced the thermostat but also found out one of the hoses was loose so that's where I was loosing water. Fixed the hose and thermostat and keeping a close eye on the water and it hasn't overheated yet. But my mechanic buddy swears by this stuff and said I should put some in just to be safe, I think I'll pick some up tomorrow.
I have the same I might have to pick some up
Oh crap , I guess I'm next ‼️😅 i have a situation with a Jetta TDI and i can see white smoke from the muffler and over heating problems so ill keep you posted guys and be part of the proud people like you fellas her we go I'm going to read the instructions more than once 😅 just to be sure 👍🏻 wish me luck 🙏🏻
adding this to my bucket list!
Cadillac dealerships were using this in brand new North star motors. It does work if the leak in the seal is not a big leak. The chemicals in this product cause rubber seals to swell up. Personally I just replace the head gaskets.
Hi Man I just want to say thank for this video/updates and all reply back to all.. This is how should Internet should work with helping pp... Keep a good work, all the best to you and your closed ones..
AGREED!!👍👍
It works real good stopping up your heater core
I think it worked for me because I've stopped getting the misfires and all four cylinders on my 98 honda civic were having misfires. Now I just have to wait and see if the antifreeze evaporates. If it does with out the return of the misfires I will thoroughly check for a leak. Not sure if I should pressure test I'm kind of scared it must break the gasket again lol😂🤣😂
Money mafia did it lasy
WTF? You said that it was draining into a bucket. Like an invisible bucket?
Carlyle Tom yea you didn’t see the bucket?

😂😂 I said that too 🤷🏽♀️😔😂

where's the bucket? lol. I hope it works long term.
its been a whole month now He still drives it everyday still! still works for now!
yes it is... but there has been a slight coolant consumption it seems but no over heating still driving it!
why did u not pour it in the radiator cap? is there a benefit from pouring it in the reseviour?
some cars don't have a radiator cap... just reservoir ....
Should have poured it straight into the radiator man. That's why it didn't work. This is a process you literally have to follow step by step. Did this on my 07 Jeep Liberty and it worked like a charm.
Some cars dont have a way to pour something into radiator....js
This car does not have a radiator cap. Pouring in this tank is perfectly acceptable as it's not a true overflow tank,,, see all those tubes going in and out of it? The coolant is circulating through this tank at all times,, water comes from the radiator, through the tank,, and straight into the heater core,,, it's absolutely no different putting it into here than putting it into the radiator. If it was a regular overflow tank,,, then yes, putting Blue Devil in would be pointless.
I'm doing one right now on my '95 T100 3.4. The thing overheated on me 5 yrs. ago and I just changed the motor, $1500.00 and a lot of work. This time I got a tip from my big brother(NAPA man) to go ahead and try a treatment first. I took out the thermostat and did a good flush(Prestone) and I put in 16oz. of Blue Devil just like it says. Its out in the driveway idling for the 50 mins. right now. I sure hope it works. I still have my old motor, didn't tear it apart to see what actually was the cause for the overheating so instead of having a junk motor I might have a spare!
I'll post the results in a few days. Fingers crossed
Ok the blue devil seems to have worked for me. I drove the T100 around town and the temp. stayed good, I got on the freeway and drove 70 mph a straight 10 miles and then turned around and did the same coming back home and the temp never moved out of the good range, stayed normal. I'm good for now. If it fails in the future I'll update this post. I give it a thumbs up!
I've got a 3.4 also. Still going good? How many miles have you put on it?
It also says not to pour in the reservoir. If the radiator does not have a cap pour through the top coolant hose
Great video! One question though, where did you buy the invisible bucket from? They got none on eBay!!
Yes they do. You just didn't see them...duh!
I just used this stuff around 7pm, overheating , gas coming threw the rad and overflow tank, blown head gasket..it’s now 12am and I’m on the highway going 75… no overheating. I used the pour and go, if you got a v8 like me , it causes for 2 bottles.. so $100 or $1500 .. your choice
Wow, an invisible bucket!!!😜
Saw that too! Lol
That’s what I said
Right lol
I think it’s the size of the crack a larger crack would be much harder to keep sealed than a very small crack
1:24 - Yeah, I saw it. That's a very nice bucket. ;-)
I used the the Blue Devil oil stop leak in my daughters 96 Pontiac Sunfire. It was leaking about 2 quarts a week out the rear main. It completely stopped the leak. I agree with The Rusty Cracker. Better to fix it the right way but this stuff really works.
Lol straight to a bucket

My truck doesn't overheat at all, but I'm losing coolant in the cylinders somewhere and it's smoking thru the oil cap and dipstick tube. No leaks to the ground, no nothing, but I have to put in a gallon of antifreeze every 3-4 days. Hope this fixes it 🤞🏾
should...good luck
Update?
@@ericcrea6837 well, I ended up doing it twice. The first time I noticed when I bought the Pour N Go version the instructions require you to run the truck at idle and let it get to operating temperature. I have an 08 Diesel with heater delete and all the aluminum accessories and knew that my truck wasn't going to get warm without driving, but I bought it anyways. Went thru the process and was actually expecting to be able and *see* the blowby all of the sudden just stop how it was described in this video, it did not. So I pondered, what if the thermostat never opened up? Do I went and bought another bottle and did the same process with the thermostat removed. I still have mystery blowby smoke, no noticable differences besides the fact my truck use to drive around at about 180-210° depending on how I'm driving, now it seems to stay around 160-170° after driving for an hour or so. Still a mystery what's going on.
Devin Bankett
That’s strange. Wish I could help.
I too am in the same boat, losing coolant but no idea where. Might be a head gasket but I have a tonne of white smoke at the cold start.
Just bought this product yesterday and confirmed with the employee at the store that the thermostat didn’t need to be removed. Although a different employee at the same store told me to do so lol I’m confused, there’s no directions on my bottle telling me to do so
there is 2 different brands of blue devil. one is 20.00 one is 45.00 the cheaper one is just u put in the radiator and thats it... the expensive one works better but u have to do all this work but worth it...
Josue Olmos you only have to take the thermostat out using the 32 oz bottle, the 16 oz bottle is a less concentrated formula which is why it says pour and go on the bottle. If you use the concentrated formula then yes removal the thermostat or it won’t continue to work and your car will be toast in no time.
If you have a very minor leak, not bad enough to overheat, but can tell you have a headgasket leak; then you'd use the 16oz bottle, just pour it into a warmed up cooling system where the thermostat would be open. If you have a major leak, that causes you to completely overheat, then you'd want to use the 32oz bottle, and that ones recommends you remove the thermostat so you can get all that sealant to circulate as much as possible and not get into the thermostat.
Derek Perez Thank you Derek and All the Others appreciate it. My cooling systems (radiator water pump and thermostat) is all fairly new. My car wasn’t overheating but my spark plugs were wet when I checked and I had them replaced. My guess is water is getting into the motor due to the head gasket. I was going to pour the solution in to fix the leak but my car won’t even start now lol. Cranks but just turn over and start. The sound of my car just giving effort to start and having no luck sucks. Probably due to the low compression in the motor due to the gasket. Not sure I’m no mechanic.
Derek Perez think it’s safe to say head gasket needs to be replaced.
Why did you pour it in the overflow tank Blue Devil states to pour it in the radiator or radiator hose.
Same place
Almost too good to be true! I'll sure try it, when I need to.
LOL!!!! I'm enjoying these conversations (I just put some blue devel in my mustang and it's been idled for 30 minutes now; I will give you all an update soon). You are almost at that 1000 subs
Welding and stuff how is it going so far ? Still working ?
LOL!!!! the blue devil didn't do nothing don't waste your time with it; I'm selling this car "tired of it" ua-cam.com/video/Ew6WMueLGLY/v-deo.html
The bottle literally says don’t put it in the overflow reservoir..
I was actually noticing that too
Im very skeptical of this but from all the positive reviews i think imma give it a try. Ik and completely understand that it's a temporary fix. I do plan on replacing my head gasket in the near future. Just hoping its a good enough bandaid till then and that it doesn't cause harm to my engine...
It’s actually supposed to be a permanent fix. A temporary fix would be like fix a flat for a car tire. This is supposed to last.
@@Yyyyyy5 I'd have to disagree, it's been a year since I used the gasket sealer. The engine died about 20k miles after I used it, which realistically speaking is really impressive, to say the least. It gave me enough time to save up money and replace the engine altogether. Happy I went this route, instead of parking the car, and now ik what to expect if it happens again.
Best way to pour it in is to pop a small hole in the cap while still on the bottle and then place bottle downward in hole and make another small hole on bottom if needed.
I purchased the smaller bottle (BlueDevil Pour-N-Go Head Gasket Sealer) it is interesting that instead of flushing out the radiator and filling with water. It says to drain down the anti-freeze just enough to add the full bottle. I am wondering if the chemical make-up is a bit different. Also, on this smaller bottle, it specifically says to pour directly into the radiator, not the overflow. If no radiator cap then pour in through upper radiator hose.
I also recommend BluDevil Engine Oil Stop Leak. My Plymouth laser was on its last legs about 8 years ago. I couldn't get it over 35 MPH. My brother sent me the BlueDevil liquid and it started running like new. I couldn't believe it. I sold the car last year and it was still running great.
All these 'sealers' basically work the same way, using sodium silicate to seal up the leaky gasket. The best maybe last 10K or so, but know that it's only temporary and sooner or later you're gonna be back at 'go'.
Buys me a year, I’ll take it
Good video.. but do you have to have heat? Because I bypassed my heater core??
Supposed to pour into Radiator! not the overflow...
If you don't have a radiator cap you can pour it in the overflow.
I deeply need help from someone because I don't have any money right now but I need to fix my car because it is the only way I can go to work back and forth. I wanted to try this method but I cannot understand the hoses I need to remove, in some videos, they only mentioned to remove the thermostat then flush the coolant, after that, pour the Blue Devil, let it run for an hour, then let it cool again for an hour, then bring back the thermostat, test drive for about 20 minutes or so(driving slow) then check again after 24hrs if the car is running great. The only sign right now is that the radiator has bubbles. My mechanic is telling me that I need a full top overhaul because of coolant has bubbles and it is blowing the water out of the radiator. I wanted to try something I watched on UA-cam where you flush out the coolant and then put a head gasket sealant and let it run for 30 mins then repeat if for 5 times. Some of the comments said it worked. But with the symptoms my car is showing, do I really need a top overhaul or can I try this out first? I'm thinking that the mechanic might just want that extra job for the money. I will really appreciate your respone on this. Great vid and keep it coming buddy! Cheers!
Will this work on a leaking heater core????????
Did blue devil a year and a half ago from watching this video 1999 mustang gt still going strong. And I’ve really pushed it since. Not even a scent of gas in the coolant anymore
So i’m gonna do this to my car tomorrow. chrysler 300 06 It keeps overheating because of this how long do you think this will last?
Morgan Lemons maybe 10k miles maybe 2 miles it all depends on the issue
Aw man I thought this was a permanent fix 😭😭😭
Instructions do not make sense it says to take out the thermostat but without the thermostat the water /bluedevil leaked out of the thermostat housing (toyota supra turbo) Any suggestions please? (its hot and i m stranded 2500 miles from home) thank you .
Am about to try Blue Devil in a 98 BMW 528i.... Iet you know in a couple of days.
How’d it go?
@@Justin_SVT sorry. Tried it before fixing overheating blew off hose 20 minutes in. Mech tried nursing it through to end but nope. Am gonna try again when paycheck is in. Better with a bit of backup for those pesky unforeseen things. Let ya know, Too Poor Garage. Thanks for the interest. A few days s more, hopefully.
DonaldJerome Ostrander Seems like I’ll be using the K&W Fiberlock later tonight on a 2001 530i. Let me know how blue devil works for you.
Can you still use Blue devil head gasket repair if your oil and your water has already mixed
So has anyone tried it on a 2010 rt charger? Mine just blew today and I'm panicking of course and looking up options. Will this work for me?
it should if you do it right
I have a leaking water pump possibly also besides a possibility blown head gasket. Would it be better to try the sealer 1st. Or change the water pump 1st. I'm thinking If I do the water pump first, I wouldn't want the sealer to gunk it up.
so work or no my main concern is what about plugging up radiator and heater core as with most stop leaks
No need this has nothing that harms heater cores or the motor thats why you are able to leave it in the cooling system and you dont have to drain it after the cycle my uncle did this in his 08 Tacoma 4.0 and it lasted till he traded the truck in over 2 years later and between that time it had alot of mud slinging and car hauling done with it so it does matter if you have a minor to moderate head gasket leak or a full on exhaust and oil side blow out it will hold for a short time with a bad blown head gasket but other than that it will hold for a really long time
it makes me wonder if the newer pour and go Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer that you leave in the system will it continue to work even after 10,000 miles? If it does then it would fix its self?
How is the bucket holding up?
bucket will live on
Damn Walmart bucket...
this stuff didnt work, how do i clean up the dried stuff in the engine bay? (came out over flow bottle as it has a bad head gasket) i tried so manythings.
i dont understand why people who know how to use tools dont just dive in and do the head gasket youself and save yourself a lot of money all you need to do is watch how to take the parts off and watch how to put them back on in your own type of vehicle ...my sons not a mechanic but he and my daughter tackled the job while i laid a sheet down on the ground marking every nut and bolt with a marker and we did the job and it saved us the 3000 dollar job it took about 4 hours one day because we lost day light and then the next day it took about 1 hour and a half and it was done that was on a chevy 4.3,liter blazer now we have todo a chevy equinox bc the mechanic says oh if its your head gasket stick a fork in it ! all because he knows we wont pay that kind of money ..it kills me bc they do it in less time and have the tools to do faster since they do it all the time it makes me sick how they rip people off ! sorry just venting bc i now have 2 cars to do and one of them a head gasket in one and a engine replace in the other im so aggravated ..but the chevy we did is still great shape as far as that goes the head gasket we did it after my hubby passed away had no choice ..
not the point of the video... its to see if this stuff worked... and it did...
@@TheRustyCracker maybe not the point of the video but i am still wondering are there any after affects when you use the product ? and how long did it last and is it still working from the time you used it ?
yes of course there is after effects its a bandage in a bottle lol... water pump went out 6 months later and 12 months later same issue, head gasket leak again. so 1 year bandage lol. for 50.00? he drive another 12k miles so was worth it for him. @@meanbean98
@@TheRustyCracker thank you i appreciate your time ...going for the bigger job ughhh!
@@TheRustyCracker i guess its a good deal if your stuck on a highway or something towing is expensive on top of parts
Since U used water with the blue devil did U drain the water out and put fresh coolant in after?
That straight to a bucket must have been a joke or I'm the only one who didn't see the bucket.
I'm using this right now but had to drain the actual blue devil out because it started leaking from the thermostat housing 🤔 now I'mma put that fluid back in after I fix that problem 🤦🏽♂️
😭😭😭 I didn’t say the broke it it’s over
🤣😂
I saw the Bucket there.... Because I was LOOKING AT IT!
My car got fix with blue devil product what’s next should I drain it out and pour antifreeze or should I leave it? And how far can I drive my car? can I drive from LA to Vegas?
You mentioned taking the thermostat out first (am I correct?) also, is it good to let all of the water drain out before you put the blue devil sealer in?
Someone please answer this great question I wanna know too lol
@@ducedaddybeatz4278 you not have to take off the thermostat just drain the coolant flush it all out with some water till all that’s coming out is water , then put the hose back on or tighten the drain whatever you did and fill it with water till it just barely stays in the res and add the blue devil stuff (just so you know it won’t last forever it’s just a quick fix for about 5k miles and need a to be flushed out after ) also it’s not good for just about everything the coolant runs through
@@George_gorge you want to remove the thermostat to remove any restrictive flow, and as small is the ports on a thermostat are it could become clogged from the additive. *BUT* it will take longer to warm up the motor
I'm getting fuel mixed into the coolant system. Will thus sealant correct this problem?
U suppose to put in right in the radiator ( the old school stuff ), why did u put it in the overflow?
read some of the other comments please, it explains this type of car did not have radiator cap. just a overflow bottle. but yes typically you have to put it straight in the radiator.
I have to vehicles without radiator cap. You have to do it this way
Its a "Pressure Cap", the only reason some people call it a "Radiator Cap" is because on older cars the Pressure Cap was always on the radiator. Many cars, using the same cooling system, have the Pressure Cap somewhere else than the radiator on newer cars. The newer system, also has a Pressure Cap, it's just on the Expansion Tank. It looks different than old Pressure Caps, because it doesn't have the provisions to allow expanding coolant to be forced past it and directed to an overflow tank, and allow it to be sucked back into the system from the overflow tank. The newer system allows the coolant to expand and contract in the expansion tank, and the Pressure Cap goes on the expansion tank to maintain pressure in the system or to release pressure before hoses would burst.
My 2005 Camry has pressure caps on both, the radiator and the reservoir tank. All caps on the system have to be pressure caps as the system must maintain pressure to work properly. The radiator cap is still a radiator cap. It's a cap on the radiator. Yes, it is a pressure cap as well. It's a radiator cap that contains pressure.
I have a 07 pontaic torrent white smoke is coming out my tailpipe. Will this work for my torrent?
I see that it says dont add it to the overflow. 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
So I just used that very same bottle and while doing this process. It was already heating up so much that I turned the engine . It might be water pump . Also reason why it originally overheated was that radiator was empty due to hose leak . What u think what should I do hope i get feedback
not sure man sorry.
Where do you pour the sealant, in the radiator or the coolant reservoir? Also do you pour the sealant in whilst the vehicle is on?
Pour directly into the radiator.
@@jonathanblaine6512 This car does not have a radiator cap.
After u do this do u keep this or u need to take this product out and then fill it up with coolant again?
Blue Devil saved me 666 dollars.
🤦🏾♂️💀😂
Thats funny but not funny
That’s metal as fuck!
Lmao
Yeah I messed up that 66 likes and 6 comments 😈
Ok so do I flush the injen cuz it’s chocolatey put new oil . Then flush radiator put hose back, then add water and blue devil. Then do I keep new oil or put new oil back
The ground makes a great bucket? LOL
Fixed my head gasket for about 1k miles. Did it again after flushing my system and it did great.
Justin Stanley flushing is the key to it have to clean system out good very good!!! Nothing sticks to loose grime!!!
Thanks just got my bottle and hope to save the cost of doing it the hard way.
just do it right, and it should work! good luck!
Carol Jackson doing it the hard way or more like to lazy to do it the right way?
CHARLIE ARROYO or more like the right way is expensive as hell so of course they would try this first
Hey guys apparently the reason you had that problem at first is because you poured it into the overflow resivor..thats not the radiator cap..you had to detach the top radiator hose and pour it down that. While the car is cold and off..put hose back on then start car..its cause you don't have a radiator cap is why you have to do so?
