one thing i would had change right away to make the movie better would had been to change the guy daughter into that girl that kirito let die in his first guild. so part of it be cause Kirito was one of the people that cause her death and it would make kirito important for the memory since he would have a ton of memory of her

I mean seriously, the entire series was written with almost no thought towards any of it (Riki actually admits that), and he wrote the script. All of SAO is almost like random writing, and then even worse writing to somehow get out of the holes the original writing created. i highly recommend the Abridged series. it takes this clusterfuck of an anime, gives it semi-human characters and a bit of tasteful editing, and turns it into a passable show.
Can confirm, this podcast is way more fun than the clusterfuck of a movie. Here you can laugh and cry at the same time, during the movie you can only facepalm and smash your head against the table.
Also the whole thing about reconstructing a girl from stealing people's memories of SAO, if that is your daughter then you should know them the best, also you should be able to perfect an AI who is based off your own offspring, there was literally little to no reason to grab people's memories, the fuck man

The thing about the fights in AR is the armor, monsters and SWORDS are virtual. So for anyone not playing, you see abunch of people running, jumping, sliding and dodging nothing. Then swinging, holding, and shooting nothing.

Oh man! Did you not get the interview at the beginning? When I saw it they had subtitled interviews with Asuna and Kirito's voice actors and Kirito's voice actor ACTUALLY SAID "Since this is a film, we've included many scenes we couldn't do in the television series, like *scenes in cafes*". I fucking LOST IT. He seriously outright said that the movie had more scenes in cafes. Watching the movie was a blast though. The theater I was at was PACKED. Almost a full house and the audience was COMPLETELY into it. You say "Who cares" about them getting their old outfits at the end? Dude. The audience ERUPTED INTO CHEERS when that happened. The hype was real. And then when Kirito draws his two swords, the crowd FUCKING LOST IT. There were audible gasps when the ghost girl showed up for no reason and after the credits when it says "SAO Will Return"? Oh man people lost it. I had never really seen SAO before, I just enjoyed watching people complain about it and the movie was a fun watch even though I quickly realized THE ENTIRE PLOT WAS A HOLE. I was hoping it would be more about Pokemon Go muggings and disappointed there was only one and Kirito being bad at AR was neat. But mostly it had fun action scenes, some unintentional comedy, and the audience was SO FUCKING HYPED that I couldn't help but enjoy it. Especially the dumb climax. I loved "Oh by the way, I loaded your old save data!". Oh and when Kirito is fighting outside his body? That's because Kirito is so awesome, he is his own stand/persona. "I AM THOU! THOU ART I!" "yup."
49:35 It is explained in later volumes but Kayaba does have a "ghost like" entity floating around the internet because before he got caught for his crimes of SAO, he scanned his brain using the prototype Medicuboid, which while killing him, had a chance of transferring his soul into a digital form. I don't think it is feasible or realistic but just thought I would point out the reasoning for his ghost being present in the series.
you weren't kidding about all the characters with speaking roles showing up. there's like a two-second shot, in the stadium (sort of low lighting) where the two guys from episodes 1 and 4 (the not-girl and not-18 guy) are just looking up and gasping or something edit: by the way, they explained that the battles around town were to make the people in the stadium think that fighting the monsters was worthwhile. still bs though

His desk had: a box of tech components, an open pomegranate (unsure if a decoration or lunch), a picture of his daughter. If you are familiar with the symbolism, you could guess that he was using technology to try and resurrect his daughter. .... It was an interesting decoration decision, for sure.

I honestly have you to thank for making my experience of watching the SAO movie. I remembered ALL of the memes you had made in your SAO 2 video and I had a good laugh the entire movie.
I believe the explanation given for why the augmented reality device can full dive is that they are boosted by the surrounding drones in the city and stadium, also the reason they would be able to kill someone. How this works on an electrical level makes no sense but neither does much else in this movie. Also post credits they announce season 3 of SAO. I just hope this evil group is called Seele.

When I saw it they had subtitled interviews with Asuna and Kirito's voice actors and Kirito's voice actor ACTUALLY SAID "Since this is a film, we've included many scenes we couldn't do in the television series, like *scenes in cafes*". I fucking LOST IT. He seriously outright said that the movie had more scenes in cafes.
Watching the movie was a blast though. The theater I was at was PACKED. Almost a full house and the audience was COMPLETELY into it. You say "Who cares" about them getting their old outfits at the end? Dude. The audience ERUPTED INTO CHEERS when that happened. The hype was real. And then when Kirito draws his two swords, the crowd FUCKING LOST IT. There were audible gasps when the ghost girl showed up for no reason and after the credits when it says "SAO Will Return"? Oh man people lost it.
I had never really seen SAO before, I just enjoyed watching people complain about it and the movie was a fun watch even though I quickly realized THE ENTIRE PLOT WAS A HOLE. I was hoping it would be more about Pokemon Go muggings and disappointed there was only one and Kirito being bad at AR was neat. But mostly it had fun action scenes, some unintentional comedy, and the audience was SO FUCKING HYPED that I couldn't help but enjoy it. Especially the dumb climax. I loved "Oh by the way, I loaded your old save data!".
Oh and when Kirito is fighting outside his body? That's because Kirito is so awesome, he is his own stand/persona. "I AM THOU! THOU ART I!" "yup."

49:35 It is explained in later volumes but Kayaba does have a "ghost like" entity floating around the internet because before he got caught for his crimes of SAO, he scanned his brain using the prototype Medicuboid, which while killing him, had a chance of transferring his soul into a digital form. I don't think it is feasible or realistic but just thought I would point out the reasoning for his ghost being present in the series.

His desk had: a box of tech components, an open pomegranate (unsure if a decoration or lunch), a picture of his daughter.
If you are familiar with the symbolism, you could guess that he was using technology to try and resurrect his daughter.

I believe the explanation given for why the augmented reality device can full dive is that they are boosted by the surrounding drones in the city and stadium, also the reason they would be able to kill someone. How this works on an electrical level makes no sense but neither does much else in this movie.

They had to do the outside fights prior to the concert to get the memories of as many SAO survivors as they could who would not be attending the concert.
