I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I really appreciate how unlike other youtubers, Dylan posts his losses as well as his wins, and is honest in explaining where he messed up and what he would've done differently so his viewers can all learn.
I think you shoul have settled on the 6-11-12 AFTER settling in the 3:1 port, it gives you the flexibility to build in the 6-11-12 faster and gives you the opportunity to buy more dev cards. You often were with too many cards but with nothing to do I think with the port you could have played road and army, which was your initial idea
I agree. While the wood was higher production, the extra wood just clogged his hand and with no port all game Dylan was forced to 4:1 and there were probably 3 or 4 times where Dylan could have ported for D's with a 3:1
3:01 "If you look at Red's position, them getting two roads to the 8-3, and the sheep port here, they just kill us overall." 3:10 "Wood for ore here. Maybe I might take that actually. This does give the Red two roads, but it is what it is." 👀😶🤷♂ speechless!
13:35, with that many cards in your hand, I think there was a lot of value in not knighting for a potential mono if a 3 or 5 rolls. On the other hand, a 10 completes your hand nicely as well so I understand the knight. That could've been game changing if you got more knights from your dev pulls.
Question. At start of game why did you not place your first road out. I always place that first round bc I’m so worried about people stealing a Wood or brick from me. Isn’t it better to get set up on that 6-11-12 quicker?
12:25 - not sure why you blocked the 5 ore there when you said yourself it compliments your mono very nicely. I think the 10 sheep is a much better block since it hurts all three players and red has the sheep port.
He really wanted the mono there. He even explained it instantly 😂 You can only play 1 D-Card per turn and he played the knight before he rolled. Thats why he couldn't mono there ;)
Why did you choose not to place your first road at the beginning of the game? I would have gone to the 9 12 so less people rob you for the early wood/brick and I think if ur holding a road you need to have a reason what ur holding it for e. g. a plow or for not geting plowed urself.
Watch almost every video, appreciate all the insight. Not sure why but the one thing that bothers me is saying 'ores' instead of ore. Ore is already plural!
Needed the 3:1 for sure but also you got hammered by robber by your opponents and idk if that was fair. Threw off pacing for black to win. Hard to beat a guy pulling 3vps
Dylighted is the best! thank you for supporting the community :D Don't let anyone tell you what is cool and what isn't. This is your life to live, live it to the fullest and keep on rolling the dice 🤟✊🤪
Blue and Orange messed up their initial placements are both worse than the 4/8/10 + brick port Black got in 4th position. Black should win that game a high % from 4th position given what was available to them.
I think you just needed to prioritize road/settle to the 3:1 port to even out your hand. You had an early road and a 4:1 opportunity. The other settlement was kind of garbage anyways, especially since the 6 wood kept getting blocked.
I don’t get why you were being solo blocked for so long. Without that you might have been in good shape. Your opponents are beginning to fear your name.
I now nickname him the Ben Shapiro of Catan: both because the tone of his voice sounds like Ben Shapiro and because of the increasing trend towards histrionics over substance (his earlier videos had a lot of substantive quality and also had a more thoughtful tonality and air to them)

Holy crap this was my game! Love watching your content and I'm sorry I had to beat you :( Thank you for the kind words it meant alot

yeah, i dont really understand why go to the other settlement first

Actually Dylan even says it. He says maybe I should have 4:1ed for an extra wood and road settled.

👀😶🤷♂ speechless!
Every time I see "INSANE strategy" in your title I get scared cuz you usually end up losing 😭
Einstein's definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over and over yet expecting a different outcome"
Commenting and liking to keep the UA-cam algorithm going! Love the content, even the losses.

Man, I will leave a comment on every single one of these videos, keep them coming! Loving the series!!

Played the first 10 games and got 4 wins but feel like should have got one or two more… Now I’ll start clibing to see if I can get close to Dylan!!
Leaderboard resets in 2 days lil
How many times did you 4 for 1 that game? I feel like getting the port earlier would have been a big advantage.
Love the vids man! Keep up the good work!!

Great catches on mistakes. I think most comments are usually inaccuracies, but you’re spot in these 2 situations. Thank you for pointing it out!
Given the initial board layout, that 3:1 port would have been a difference maker.
why trade for Ds insted of mono on ore at 13:25 ? toughts behind that or didnt see?

Weird game but fun to watch thanks for all the uploads!
Hindsight, would you prefer the brick port game or getting the wood settle and going for the wood port?
Black really had it out for you here
Where do l play this version of Catan? l would love to start ranking in Catan as well.
Go, Go, Go TheWRizz! I believe in you, you can do it! 😊
Greets from Germany, love your content! Go on like this :)
Shhhh
Would it have been better to use your yop for a road and settle on the wood port instead of the 3:1?
6 wood was going to get blocked a lot so there wasn't much utility in the wood port. The 3 1 is helpful for all his extra wheat and sheep.
Edit: My video was indeed on 1.5 speed 🤦
I thought my video is on X1.5 speed ahah
Watch almost every video, appreciate all the insight. Not sure why but the one thing that bothers me is saying 'ores' instead of ore. Ore is already plural!
I'm so glad to see Dylighted get punished for his greed. He doesn't use ports at all.
Great game and video :)
wth did orange do in this game?
I have played with jo before and they're so pointed when you don't let them win
Needed the 3:1 for sure but also you got hammered by robber by your opponents and idk if that was fair. Threw off pacing for black to win. Hard to beat a guy pulling 3vps
HAHAHA GOT IT IM FIRST BABYYYYY
also keep up the great content dylighted! :)
My friends say DyLighted is mid i think he’s the best

Black robbing you then saying “no ore, I max at 5” is hypocritical, good play tho.

Seriously? Every single video is INSANE or CRAZY or something similar.
Come on dude, get your act together. Stay authentic.
Was about to say the same, it's getting annoying.

It's just a title- get a grip.
I think he changed the title.
