Sooooooooo my Empty Free Plastic Coffee cans are out for my revolvers and pistols rounds!
When I had a job in the plastic industry those plastic hinges where called "Living Hinges"....

gman77gas I've been guilty of just dumping a lot of loose rounds into cardboard boxes and then off to the range. And I do store a lot of ammo in big plastic jugs - then refill my plastic Case Gard 100s with the ammo from those jugs to take to the range. Take care and Best to ya

One nice add on that they sell are the foam sheets to keep your cartridges from rattling and vibrating while in transit. I use the MTM cases for all my reloads.

sixtofive Thanks for your comment. I'm going to look into those foam sheets for my accuracy ammo...Have a great day

I have quite a few of those MTM boxes. I also have a bunch of the Plano boxes. Both are good, but the MTMs seem a little more sturdy. Thanks for the video!

JunkfoodZombie That's interesting in that we all have boxes from many sources in every color of the rainbow - I have plastic boxes that are sliders, pop tops, hinge tops etc from MTM, Plano, Midway, Dillon etc. I think the reason is that we sometimes buy on sales, but find the MTMs are the ones we go to when we really want the best ammo security. Have a great day to ya

***** I have those same plano boxes. They do stack nicely. The MTMs have little ridges on the corners for stacking as well. They both work well for what they are for.

Those lids that spring back can get annoying. It's been awhile since I bought any, but I hadn't seen any of those MTM hinged lids when I did, so I bought the ones made by Plano. Just as tough as their fishing tackle boxes.
Transparent lids are handy to see just what's inside at a glance, but a tip if you use soft lead projectiles (as are the spitzers in my .222) is to glue a piece of foam to the inside of the lid. If they bounce or it gets turned upside down it won't deform the projectile tips.

AusiKifaru27 Good idea - the more care we do when reloading, the more we want our ammo security in storage and transport. Companies like MTM and Plano give us that confidence. Thanks for your comment, and Good shootin' to ya

I have a few of the MTM boxes but mostly Cabela's branded boxes that I think are made by Plano. The MTM boxes a definitely mode sturdy. You have inspired me to get a .223 single shot with you Survival rifle videos and I will soon have a Rossi Wizard in .223.

I like these boxes for transport to pistol matches. These help to manage match ammo very well. I can see at a glance how many I have loaded into magazines / shot during the match. After the match, I can see just how many I have shot after removing all live rounds from the magazines and placing them back in the box.

vajake1 Ammo management is very important at matches (even though we shoot a stage and then wait for the next one). Anything that helps the flow is good. Thanks for posting, and Good shootin' to ya

MTM boxes are great, but the Cabela's own brand ones are cheap and real good also.
    Another good video thanks!

+PhillsGarage -- I'm thinking that Cabela's is still contracting their boxes from outfits like MTM or Plano etc. They're ultimately all made in China, but hey, they work and keep working. Some of my 40 year old Moulton's boxes are finally losing their plasticizers - they are starting to crack up. No problemo, I'll just replace 'em with MTMs. Happy Thanksgiving to ya.... FC

I`d rather support an American company than cheap Chinese junk. Especially so since I live only 12 miles away from the actual factory.

Clear top = breakable. Extreme test that was done was when I hit the wall at 65 mph and my van was tossed including my German short hair pointer. She / Hurricane is ok. All ammo boxes that were clear shattered. Thank God the reloads were marked on each case. Ammo cases that were not clear survived.

pr4runner That's good to know. I was thinking about doing a drop test for this video, but my ammo boxes are so heavy, I know they would just pop open and probably break, and I'd have cartridges all over the place - didn't feel like doing that. Your information is significant... Thanks for posting it. Have a great day
