I kid you not when I say I CRIED of relief when Matt found out he didn't have a career-ending injury and that he was cleared for duty.

What I like about Brett & Casey is that they offer support to each other. I didn't see that with Dawson & Casey.
You won't even see it, and in fact with this plot we have a great example. Casey never told Gabby about her health problems in season two, nor did she even realize about it and if she is not mistaken they were already living together. When Matt finally did tell her (on severide's advice), he didn't mean it, but she didn't press the point either, nor did she show much concern.

The way they did this storyline shows the parallel between Casey and gabby vs Casey and Brett how he would put gabby first and she would walk all over him. He tried to put bretts before his own needs and she wasn’t having it. It’s really nice to see him come out his shell with her.
She forced herself into his life, he even tried to get rid of her prying in his business.
@@livialima2231 she wasn't trying to force herself into his life. Casey had opened up and let her in which is quite rare for him and let her support him the way he did her last season. The difference is that Casey can get a bit stubborn at times and thinks he has to handle everything himself and that's not the case. When Casey told Brett she didn't have to come to the MRI results it was because he thought he was interfering with her living her life and didn't want to get in the way, so he tried to push her away. So when Brett came and told him she was going, she gave him a reminder that he needed, which was that he doesn't have to do it alone, letting him know that she's there for him and that she wasn't just gonna walkout on him, which was refreshing.
This doctor cracks me up! If that’s his good-news-delivery-face, can you imagine how he’d look if he had some bad news for Matt? 😂

I just love them so much and this scene was perfection!
Anyone else realized that it took somewhat subtle not really subtle flirting over 2-3 years, Brett flying off an overpass after a psycho holds her at gunpoint, Casey going to save her then lying about going to save her, her finding out he went to save her and trying to avoid her feelings by avoiding him, and him showing up at her door asking what's up just for them to kiss and have it all fall apart in 4 minutes. Then it took Casey flying out of a car, him having major side affects, him hiding those side effects for 2-3 episodes, Brett finally finding out about the side effects and convincing him go to the doctor, saying she'll go with him and her constant support and reassurance that everything is gonna be ok, a horrible playlist to listen too for an MRI, and finding out the side effects are not only from his shoulder but also them finding out the side effects are manageable and that he's not gonna have to quit his job or die, for them to hug and almost kiss.
Relationships are so complicated🤦🏾♀️

@@ashantisyt that's not entirely true in my opinion. If Brett was taking advantage of him when he was vulnerable then he did the same thing last season. But neither of them are taking advantage of one another, their supporting one another which is sweet, not toxic. And she wasn't trying to listen to their conversation, the woman just wanted some coffee. As for him not wanting to tell her there's a few reasons for that. One being they weren't exactly on the best of terms, but the main reason was that he was scared. Like he said in the conversation at the end of 9x11, he was scared he'd have to quit his job or that it something worse could happen so he just tried to avoid it all together. I know y'all dawsey people be hating on Brett but you gotta at least appreciate her getting him to get checked out and her support throughout the process, cause that was just amazing and so sweet

That's what I'm saying, in 9x8, Grainger decided to ignore the signs or believe Sylvie and decided to move on, sleeping with her made his ego grow a bit and that's why later he confronts Casey.
