I can't believe Golbat with Speed Boost walled you guys for _over 30 minutes_ at Roxanne and then proceeded to haunt you again with a vengeance at Juan. This was such a joy to watch live.
Keiz got trolled SO bad by that Golbat. Each layer to it was just incredible. When the Chesto Berry came out I almost lost it.
The Chesto Berry was such a great moment. I don't tend to laugh loudly very often, but I honestly sat there fpr like 5 seconds just laughing. It was amazing
Chesto Berry is held because its the kingdra slot which normally has a Chesto a Berry to go with its rest
Just wanted to pile on this comment, I had to pause the VOD to clean up my sandwich mess I made from taking an unfortunate bite when the Chesto Berry popped and then it outsped. I was laughing that hard.

I love how the most replayed moment in this vod isn't the golbat trolling
It's the persian evolving into the shuckle
I just realized this when tuning into the BDSP run earlier but the display for runners' (and couch commentators' in other runs) names light up when they talk! With masks on stream this is a very awesome detail that's super appreciated, speaking as someone who's bad with names so when there are multiple runners/commentators that I'm unfamiliar with, I always have a hard time which voice belongs to which personnel. Great job to whoever coined the idea and everyone who made it a reality!
I love it as well! I'm familiar with 360Chrism's voice but the others I wasn't sure, but the highlights really helped!
I also love the pronoun indicators. The GDQ UI as a whole is just perfect.

I didn't notice that, I wish I cheked the comments before watching the video I spent the first hour not knowing whether Adef of Keizaron was talking (I've seen enough Shen vs Chris runs to be able to distinguish those voices lmao)
Plus I love how it shows which runner is controlling the game above the timer. For a run like this with 4 players it’s super helpful!

Having fun is what matters
As good as classic speedrunning is, I do like how the community is moving towards randomizers and races, it's a nice change of pace, and group runs like what this group has been doing has been great. I hope we get to see more content like this in the future in GDQ.

When I hear the soundtrack of this game I have flashbacks of playing this under the covers with a flashlight in my mouth to see the screen. I loved ruby, and my Grandpa gifted me the game for my birthday. He passed from cancer not too long after I beat the game, so playing Emerald was my first 'speedrun' aka trying to beat the entire game in one night when I have school in the morning. it really warms my heart seeing runs like these raising money for various causes as well as beong a lovely welcoming community of people. Thank you all so much!!

The race to meet the incentive before beating the Elite Four was funny as heck, this hectic run was amazing
I love how when they were roadblocked at Roxanne they'd just evolve their crappy Pokemon and be like "Aight this is not my problem now"

This has to be at least top10 most entertaining runs in gdq history ... yes we like speed, but we do like a good trolling laugh every now and then, thank you four and the entire gdq team in the background for this gem!
With the other 9 spots filled by *the* jak & daxter run, Siglemic's first appearance, and Sinister1's blindfolded punchout.
One of my favourite GDQ runs in ages, all the runners meshed together so well, even watching felt like hanging out with a group of friends you've known for years.
Honestly the most entertaining run I have seen from gdq. This group had hilarious interactions and the randomizer was ridiculous. Please do this again. I am sure this is the best excuse for these guys to be in the same room doing a run together. Top notch god tier entertainment.
These types of runs are my favourite; just some people having fun with each other and laughing at the game as much as each other.
This is such an amazing show of skill, talent and utter trolling capabilities. Love these four in combination.
This run has everything - Chaos, Golbat Trolling, Great commentary, Fighting over the inputs, The race to meet the donation goal - a bit under four hours of a certified Wild Ride.
It's so nice to see these 4 together. Always nice to see Speedrunners having fun playing their game and not just doing a "showcase". You can clearly see the passion here.

I've watched this about a dozen times, and I've yet to get tired of it. Those guys have such great chemistry, and the pranking is such fun. :3 That Golbat. That darn Golbat!!
Edit: As a sidenote, this run inspired me to dig out a cart of Emerald I bought some years ago, and actually play it. Only gen I haven't finished yet.
Seeing this run live was amazing, especially near the end of the elite four. Whole lot of tension and laughs all in three hours. This and the Minecraft run were my highlights so far

I'm not a big pokemon guy but I played Emerald as a kid. It was a fun watch and I have to admit that this is one of my favorite GDQ runs ever

I've watched this VOD like 10 times since it went up. Nothing better than a big group with great working chemistry and extensive knowledge of the mechanics. I love tight runs with impressive tech, too, but I would watch a whole event of funny, high-RNG categories with couch dynamics like this. (Also, "Doctor. Doctor."" Doctor." "Doctor." maybe the hardest I've ever laughed at a GDQ video.)

Pokémon GDQ runs involving Keizaron, weather on the couch or actually playing, will always be my favorite type of chaos.
