  • Authentic RED RED RECIPE /Black Eyed Beans & Plantain✔️ Ndudu by Fafa
    Enjoy this classic Red Red recipe, a Vegetarian Ghanaian dish made from Beans and Plantain. Aptly named 'Red Red' due to the colour Palm Oil (Zomi) adds to the Beans and Plantain dish.

    I’m from South Carolina, USA and black eyed peas are a staple here (and my fav). When I went to Ghana and had Red Red I loved it! Now I can make some. Thanks so much! 😋

    I just discovered the existence of this recipe in a vlogging video and found your recipe right away! What caught my attention was the fact that we, in Northeastern Brazil, because of Ghana's (and other west African countries like Guinea, Benin and Nigeria) heritage, have a lot of recipes with palm oil, cassava flour, black eyed beans and plantains but somehow this recipe in particular wasn't passed along throughout the generations, which so beautifully preserved their culture among so many atrocities that happen until this day in Brazil. Anyways, can't wait to try this recipe. You're so full of joy btw ❤

      @Accra Abeba Do you guys also stir fry gari with onions, garlic and butter to make farofa? We call gari "farinha de mandioca", and when we stir fry it, it becomes farofa! So cool to find these similarities all over the world!

    • @NdudubyFafa
      @NdudubyFafa  3 роки тому

      African food dishes due to the transatlantic slave trade were introduced to Brazil, Haiti, Jamaica etc hence there are similarities in dishes.

      I’m not sure about your question, since I didn’t add salt to the Palm oil. Maybe it might be the type of Palm oil you buy. If that’s the case then refrain from adding salt to the beans, since your salty oil might be enough. Hope this helps 😘
