- Julia Hartley-Brewer and The New Culture Forum’s Amy Gallagher react to Keir Starmer saying transwomen don't have the right to use women's toilets.
The Labour leader said single-sex spaces “must be protected” and “we mustn’t go down the route of self-identification” when asked about the issue on The Sun’s Never Mind The Ballots show on Monday evening.
But he added that it was necessary to “recognise the procedure or the process at the moment is not dignified”.
Amy says: "You've had years to have a clear stance on this issue and they still don't have it! Labour really are the party of gender ideology!"

I am obsessed with this issue because it is harming Children, adolescents and vulnerable adults on the spectrum. It is nothing less than experimental surgery that is putting healthy bodies on a lifelong medical path dependant on drugs and further surgeries.

I notice now that politicians say "biological women" and "biological men." There's no such thing! There are women and there are men. That's it! Nothing in-between. What next? Biological dogs? No. If you "really want to know what Labour think about these ideas" you look at how they, their activists and their leader treated Rosie Duffield MP. Their actions and inactions were SHAMEFUL.

I honestly despair. I’ve been more or less a Labour supporter all my voting life but this trans issue is a deal breaker: trans women are TRANS women, biological women are women. End of story. The same goes for trans men and biological males. If a trans person was in an accident and was rushed to hospital needing surgery, he/she would receive treatment determined on their biological sex - “trans” wouldn’t enter into it. I’m a gay man who, supposedly, is meant to be behind this ideology but, sorry, I use common sense rather than faddish bandwagon jumping. It would be wise if politicians (and other authorities like schools etc) did the same. It’s for this reason (or LACK of reason), as a longtime Labour supporter, that I can’t in all good conscience, vote Labour on the 4th.

Julia, don’t you know that NOW we have over a hundred genders; 20 years ago there were 2, but some amazing phenomena occurred at some point, I am not sure when, and NOW we have all of these others; I have expect that before long they will be paying someone an eye watering salary to name all of these genders and the kids in school can learn and recite them instead of those boring multiplication tables and chemistry tables; it will b much more useful.
With Labour coming to power I wish the "Despatch box" was made by Ronseal.

I normally try to do my best and ignore anything to do with trans or gay stuff because I'm interested but for some reason I'm starting to see this trans stuff everywhere and I'm shocked this is a thing. Biological men wants to insert themselves into female only spaces, how is this even a discussion? Most people don't care what you want to do or call yourself but it crosses the line when you try to impose it on other people. This is crazy.
Sir Keir will write the definitive definition of a woman. It will take time to investigate. Be patient. Sooner or later we will be able to identify a woman. Have faith.

As a transgender teenage boy, and I have hope in Starmer. In this country, as of now, my future is uncertain and I’m worried. I’ve had to pay thousands out of pocket for offshore transgender healthcare following the closing of UK GICS. I’m not a pervert, I’ve never hurt anybody. I’m a kid, just let me live.
I seriously don’t understand why we don’t just have trans/nonbinary toilets. It’s just been blown up so much that the simplest solution has been forgotten.
The Tory council here chose to close a load of public toilets down, never mind adding gender neutral facilities. Gee, thanks Tories.

I would guess that Mostly Women will vote Labour in on the 4th July. This focusing on DEI and implementing Woke agendas is one of the things that will happen soon after they take power in my opinion.
You only have to look to America to see how these things play out, especially in Democrat run cities and States like Los Angeles and San Francisco where the Rich and middle classes are trying to leave in their droves for more rural states as life in their cities has become so intolerable.

I'm unsure how schoolgirls aged from 11 upwards dispose of period pads at school nowadays. Perhaps there's a special bin inside the cubicle. I've no idea as back in the day there was a horrible incinerator just outside where the sinks were. I'm sure if boys were allowed in the same space then,
it would have been too embarrassing for those girls and the incinerator an object of fun even danger.
Even if it's different today, it doesn't matter because girls have a right to privacy at that time, especially if they're in pain or have a heavy flow and need another girl's help. This should be a 'no brainer' to politicians.. but do they have that brain? No.

If i am a bloke who is only 5’4” tall, small build and slightly feminine in appearance and i am about to go into a mens toilet and someone believes i am a female to male transsexual, whats next? Do they make a citizens arrest and call the police and then the police ask to check your underwear? What if your wrong?

I think most genuine trans women are no threat to women’s spaces and the entire issue is mostly a non issue… being a male I am not familiar with women’s toilets but I think most of them are separate cubicles which makes them private spaces anyway. Obviously men who randomly declare women hood or dress up as women should not be allowed to enter women’s spaces for obvious reasons but genuine trans women I think most level headed women wouldn’t see as a threat.
Sorry I am a level headed woman and I am not happy with a man using women's spaces. There are two sexes, women and men. How do you know that most 'transwomen' are no threat to women. It is not a non issue. It is the world gone mad. Of course these transwomen are portrayed as the ' victims ' it is women who are the victims , who are seeing their identities slowly being eroded. Thank god for JK Rowling and all the other women who are speaking up for women .
The old Mayor Khans Office near Tower Bridge had eight floors. On each of the first seven there was a mens, womens and a gender neutral. On the very top, where the VIPs went was no gender neutral toilet.

I would invite people to meet with trans people, I have worked with many trans people within a therapy setting for over 20 years. They are some of the most gentle, reserved and caring. All this bullying that all trans are villains is not true at all. If people actually talk and meet they will see that the core of that person is true to their gender identity. I am not just talking about trans women, there are trans men too. Do you expect a trans man who normally has no womb ovaries, no breasts and no female hormones and a penis to use a female toilet? Also do you expect trans women who normally have no male hormones going through their body, and may have no penis using a male toilet? I agree there needs to be clear and concise definitions of what meets a trans criteria. In Brighton UK there are gender neutral toilets and it really works there with no issues. Separate cubicles with wash basins inside. So no shared space. Everyone has to remember even if someone’s pre surgery, what genitalia they have they do not usually identify with, so normally wouldn’t want to look at it let alone use it. A lot of trans females pre surgery will wear chastity belts. Please ask doctors, psychotherapist’s and psychologists about transition and properly inform yourselves before making judgements.
Lets get flatulent farage into the house of commons so we can all see him for who and what he truly is!!!…
