I think Scott has a game plan of attack and attack. spreading ground forward pressure so the mediums and smalls can do work. Would be a great stratagem if our entry into forward changed dramatically from the long bomb we had the last few season
We need someone who can mark. The reason we always look so unfit is that the ball is constantly in motion. Misses targets and dropped marks. Footy skill are important
Doesn't help that our forward entries are abysmal for the most part, and our pressure is even worse, it just comes right back out if it's not intercepted anyways.
to be fair their is big value in having a player, even of the bench as an interchange, who can land a big mark and/or pure highlight reel level speccy on a per game basis. Plus, it's like others said, he's an SSP pickup so there's really no harm in trying him out and seeing.
If we're riddled with injuries in the forward line, we're going to find it hard to kick a decent score. My fear is is that we go sub 100 percentage again this year.
i think its an indication that hoare and baldwin are not getting an ssp signing. they both may be added back to the vfl team? but richmond won 3 out of 4 premierships with a small forward setup
@@Alby911 well Lynch was a late addition, they still won 2 premierships with reiwoldt being the tallest forward at 195cm. But I'm just making the point a small forward line can be better than a tall forward who isn't marking the ball (looking at you wright)
@@wenisman Lynch was part of the 2019 and 2020 Premiership team. The Reiwold and Lynch combo would have been considered a tall setup a few years ago, but these days it's no longer needed. Definitely no room for Wright given his one wood is set shots, and little else
Idk why nobody is looking at Liam McMahon he a blues VFL player and is consistent asf! I don’t mind Edwards he was a look in one of the MSDs an outside change 2 years ago I think not 100% sure. I think Cox is a Fwd you’d have to play him over Wright though I’d look at what you’ve got before looking outside the club.
Does it look like Scott is grooming Draper to play key forward chopping out with Nick Bryan as the number 1 ruckman? Match sims sound like he’s been playing more time up forward….

He knows how to mark the footy
Do you think that Cox could be a depth player down back or is he a lost cause.?
Gee he'd have to improve a hell of lot on recent form.@@TrishBrewer
Why not Liam McMahon?Kicked 45 goals in 2024,is 198cm, and is a good mark, won Carlton reserve's B&F, and is only 22 years old.Plenty of upside.
Thanks Felix
Yes get the best one forward or back
I've got a soft spot for Baldwin. He showed a bit and he's had no luck, so I'm hoping we keep him onboard...
Sounds like he's worth a punt as an ssp chance. If it doesn't come off, it doesn't cost the club anything. But if he makes it, it's a real bonus
No Dodoro around now, so this is probably a good move.
Dodoro did well with SSPs

Reiwoldt and Lynch were key pillars surrounded by class and speed. It wasn’t just a smallish forward line

Forwards are getting smaller and midfielders are getting bigger, modern footy
Rosa slowly building.👏
hes cookin...
At year send if we have 3 first we can get Duursma and have Merrett at HB with Martin going forward Jones wing.
It definitely sounds like something is going on behind the scenes strategically that we aren't aware of.
25, 191cm…he’s not dislodging Langford or Caddy. Jonesy is also in the mix. You’re right, could only be a depth option.
We desperately need fierce competition for forwards, given past experience, & Stringer leaving. Best of luck to him.
We need to bolster our defence. I don't understand how a lot of best 22 teams on the web have Reid at centre half back.
Is it also possible that there is somebody at risk of going on the long term injury list?
Most likely building depth and put pressure on similar players
Don’t think there is anyone battling a season threatening injury right now
There's a good chance Edwards get a start as peter is scared to mark the ball I personally think bring him on
What happened to Tyler Sellers?
joined our vfl squad
He’s with our VFL team
When he arrives they will probably have him stay with 2MP so he can teach him the craft of being a top forward.....ah...... yeah, nah scratch that.
At least he is a wizard on the barbie

We need a genuine swing man.

25… size looks 17
genuine Mitch Brown clone.
Honestly wouldn’t mind that if it’s the case, little bit of depth
Mitch brown had the best boot.
@ unreal boot for sure. Made the most of his talents!
Dustin fletcher had bigger arms...25 years old...pass
