I was first a member in 1951 and would go, back then, to each of the 18 games. I lived in London for seven years, starting in 1966, and as it was pre-internet, I would walk down to Australia House every Thursday lunchtime when the Monday Melbourne Age would arrive by air and they would cut the previous Saturday's match results off the back page and place the cutout in their window. I wasn't a member while not living in Melbourne, but re-joined in 2016 when I returned after a 50-year absence
@@PeterB198 Wow Peter, I feel like a late starter to the Essendon fold first following them in 1965 after the GF win against St Kilda and I liked the colours. Very impressive. We are lucky to have experienced the good times but they will come again. We have a assure the young folk. Go Bombers
new fan here as well, love the channel. personally i think some history of the club/favorite games/players from the past could make for some good videos!
Glad to have you on flin you have definitely decided to go for the best team enjoy the the exciting 2025 the bombers deliver and go the mighty dons ♥️🖤
Things you need to know about being an Essendon supporter: 1. 2004 is the last time Essendon won a final 2. 2001 was the last time we made the grand final 3. We have equal premierships with Carlton, Collingwood at 16 4. You will be frustrated watching players make weird decisions with the ball, like having 4 open players and someone hitting an opposition player. 5. Our best player is Zach merrett 6. Dylan shiel looks a million bucks 7. Nik cox has a funny name 8. Jade Gresham has a ladies name and writes crime novels in the office season. 9. Ben Hobbs, was popular in the Lord of the rings franchise 10. Jye Menzies is a better prime minister then Robert 11. Will setterfield, likes to settle in one position on the field. 12. Nate caddy, caries golf clubs for everyone on the weekend 13. Kyle langford seems like a good person and is our best forward. 14. Darcy parish holds Communion after each game. 15. Mason Redman burns easy 16. Andrew McGrath is not related to tim. 17. Sam draper dad was don. 18. Sam Durham does not like to eat ham as he's not a cannibal
Good one Felix. What Flin needs to know is once you commit to an AFL team they become your family. From then on you support them through thick or thin. There will be heartache but rest assured there will be Joy. Welcome aboard 🙂👍🏆. Go Bombers
Video idea: Go through each defense, midfield and forward in seperate video. Go through every player in each defense, midfield, forward and give them a 2024 grade rating and a 2025 ceiling rating with goals pass marks for example Kyle Langford to aim for 40+ goals, Nate caddy and kako 20+ goals. Different goals may include games played like 10+ games or some players need to show more heart. For the elite players already like Zach Merrett a good goal might be to see leadership and a Brownlow
When you go through the list and you think who's actually a high level AFL player, and we've probably got 2 or 3. Then you get to the list of new players and it paints a pretty scary picture for this season. EDIT: I'm being pretty generous with the term 'high level AFL player' too
I agree on paper, but what you notice about good sides is that they're made better by team form and strong systems - a rising tide lifts all ships. There's enough of a talent pool that could be lifted to that upper echelon with a good run of form (Durham, Caldwell, McKay, Duursma, McGrath)
Felix, for newbies, maybe split the list into fwd/mid/back, how many of each do you need and why, where are the team needs and why. Don’t talk of why we might let them go. Build it up. Let them make up their own mind. Otherwise great work.
Well, hopefully moving up the ladder F. I am actually alot more hopeful than previous seasons. Injuries to our "A" list will determine it. Notice the club website this year is quieter and not full of the usual hype. It seems BS (coach) is promoting actions not words. Go Bombers ⚫️ 🔴
Darcy Parish - was brilliant for 2/3 of the season in 2021 as a midfielder. But otherwise in his 8 year career to date, he has shown genuine flaws and is a somewhat bruise free operator. Adrian Dodoro (now finally sacked due to shitness) signed him to a 6 year contract when we could have let him go and received a draft pick as an RFA. Now, some hold genuine hope that we will see a return to that 16 weeks of brilliant footy he created once - and others say we are stuck with him and a firesale trade to get rid of his bloated af salary beckons. Let's hope that both camps are happy as quickly as p[ossible - one way or another.
You know what I realised that this page is the only social media page Essendon have. Like the Essendon football club don’t even post videos of training or anything they are actually useless. Look at st kilda and Sydney. Post great videos of pre season. Can you post more videos of training etc since Essendons social media team suck
Would love to post more footage but I’ve had copyright issues in the past which annoyed the crap out of me 😝 Just photos for the time being unfortunately mate
@@everythingessendon548 really? Take a squizz of stkildas page and Syndey recently and look at the quality of videos they are uploading. Essendon I cant even get a glimpse of whose doing what. Would be nice for the supporters surely they will wake up one day

This is awesome mate, I’m glad you’ve been able to see success in those golden eras, would have been a great time to be an Essendon fan

Cap
Bounced back from a groggy report yesterday full of vim, vigour and a dash of humour today.
Nice turnaround Felix. Well played
Great video jammed packed with funny anecdotes
Cheers! Was good fun to record
Welcome to the family Flynn ✊️
The most dysfunctional family you’ll ever have
@everythingessendon548 dysfunctional... but very lovable and loyal. Love my clan, but yep - we're a unique mob 😄

I’ll try and dive into the history a little bit! Cheers mate!
Awesome video - comedy chops are on point 😂 Definitely something to the Samson theories 👨
Cheers mate! Let's hope there are no more haircuts.

Flynn get ready for the scariest roller coaster in Australia
Bring a bucket! You might be sick
Flynn do what I’m doing and going for Tassie devils when they enter the AFL. Bombers are sooooo frustrating 😂
Follow Jye Menzie from club to club
Tsatas 187cm , i never realized he was that tall.
I thought he was quite small.
Yep! Beefed up a fair bit too, could be handy in the guts

There’s also a few who have previously been high level but are struggling for form, if they can get to their best again things won’t be so dire

You forgot to mention that ARCHIE ROBBO ROBERTS we must thank LLODDY for putting in a good word for him at the club coached him at school footy
Good point! Plenty of past Essendon links.

Any idea when we are going to know who is in the leadership team
Should find out soon, usually after media day which is today.

Both a blessing and a curse, it means we are getting absolutely no content
No glass half full for me anymore. I still can't wait for footy season but I do love pain 😅
It isn't a season without some pain.
@everythingessendon548
Especially when the Bombers are concerned 😟
Xavier Duursma.....also an Archer ;-)
Love that from you
Oh no, get used to years of heartbreak Flynn. You'd be better off barraking for Geelong.
My thoughts exactly
My thoughts sadly
Flynn. Stop, turnaround and run. Keep running and don’t look back. It’s not too late to abort.
Forrest Gump style
Elijah Tzatziki
My favourite dip
Phoenix great and funny and well done go the dons m8
Cheers mate!
You exaggerate
Reid played 1.75 quarters last year. Double the 20 minutes you said.
😂
That’s pretty much a full season! Don’t know what us fans are complaining about

Definitely under the pump, wouldn't be surprised if clubs come swooping knowing they can get him for cheaper than he once was.

Legend
Dont expect anything 😌
Fair advice
Poor Flynn…join the dark side.
Can already feel him becoming a more unhappy human being
Can Zach Reid Full Forward?
Has played there in the past, I prefer him down back.
Do you even play fortnite lol?
Not really :P
The horror…the horror
New fans better get ready for Geelong themed nightmares every night
Fornite lol
No more Stringer or Hind for Laverde to play with :(
A club that cannot wish you a merry xmas or happy Australia day.. shouldnt be allowed to play on anzac day
Lost me. Past supporter
Yeah!! And not once have they given me a foot massage or washed my car! Add me to the list of past supporters 😂
I haven't eaten in weeks, still waiting for them to come cook me dinner.
