This mill has a different fram rail design than the new one. An update would be ideal. But this video helped, none the less

FYI The air ratchet is a great idea, but the rigid air line connection can be a pain in tight corners. I put a swivel nipple on and that gets me into places behind a motor and such where the rigid hose is just too cumbersome and restrictive. Fantastic video and information here. Thank you.

Ok - informative video - but - and to qualify my opinion, I am a mechanic.
Wherever possible, tighten the nut onto the bolt, not the bolt into the nut. This is to achieve even and consistent torque on the fasteners - if the bolt binds in any way on the material you're assembling, you'll have uneven torquing if you tighten the bolt into the nut. If you tighten the nut onto the bolt, the resistance is always the same, and ergo the torque is the same, provided the thread on the bolt is not damaged. And trust me, after tightening the number of nuts you have on the mill, you'll find that the torques are consistent, within a few foot lbs, overall. I realize that you're not using, or even requiring a torque wrench for this assembly, but it's a good habit to get into.
Or maybe I'm just being pedantic :)

Hi, Des. You are exactly right. Good observation. I do generally tighten the nut to the bolt, but sometimes, I get in a hurry, and it depends which wrench I have in which hand. I've got a feeling that when you put the mill together, it will be absolutely perfect.

Is the frame assembly the same on the LM-29 as it is on the HD-36 and go together the same way ??? Also, is there a video on how to put together the LM-29. The side frame's look very different. The video showing the HD-36 looke easy, but now I see they look different. I was going to order the LM-29, but without seeing how it goe together, I'll hold off.

I've been given a quote "as I requested, but the more research I do, I find the components shown on the Norwood LM-29 Video are different than what you'll actually get. I snapshot pictures of the video of some of those items and sent them to Norwood, I spoke to them on the telephone and they're telling me these items are from the HM-36, but they are advertized on the LM-29 Video. I would like to clarify this before I purchase the LM-29.to name a few: Heavy duty log dogs, Lumber Pro standard log rest and the 8 Support legs, they are shown on the video as "Orand square type", but told they are round black. My intention was to do the purchase today, but waiting for an answer on some of these issues.

Brian..I've noticed the same thing too..but probably the lm26 and 29 are closer in parts..those pictures they use do make one think their lm29 frame will be built as nice

Working on the HD38 now, finishing up carriage and sawhead assembly. Same deck as the 36v2, which is more robust than the older HD36. You just have to take your time and make sure you carefully follow instructions. I recommend reading through the manual first, at least the entire section you're about to work on. Also, take careful inventory of the parts you need for that section and only take out the parts you need.
