Been curious about DSPs and your rundown made it easy to follow and understand what one does. If i wanna tune down some tweets that are too bright that can be done. Punch up the mids a bit to balance all the speakers out, easy enough. My understanding of time alignment is for SQ to set up the sound stage and imaging for the most realistic sound like a live concert. Thats what I’ve read anyway and Id like a DSP in my setup eventually to have all that control and tuning capabilities. Great video very helpful!

Hey sir, I'm pretty new to car audio even though I'm old lol. I just wanted to let you know that I've been watching your videos for awhile now and you sir have taught me a lot. This DSP video is great. I guess what I'm saying is THANK YOU! It's cool to get information from guys like you cause audio shops are a bunch of "give me your money fuck you" Ive been burned several times by those guys so never got into this hobby till now. Thank you sir I appreciate you

I found time to retune my system this past weekend. I managed to get my sfb 2K down to where the bass boost was all the way off. I Raise up the frequency on the crossover and somehow managed by ear to get a more punchier crunchier bass but still kept the lows with zero clipping.

That set up would come in handy. I'm running a autotek 1050.4 and it's powering two pairs of skar 6.5 component set one off channels 3 & 4 and two pairs of skar 3.5 bullet tweeters off channels 1&2. One I upgrade with two matching sfb 200.4s I can use this. Because the sfb line up are very simple when it comes to the crossovers and db setting.

Man I wish you were close by. None of the local shops will help me tune so I gotta teach myself. They just know how to throw subs in and not even hide the cable… won’t even touch panels.
A week ago I didn’t even know what a crossover meant or was. I know in podcasting an audio interface changed the game for me, I’m assuming a DSP is the equivalent

I personally like the dm608. Beside the laptop I can make adjustments with my phone. I will add hooking up to the tuning software with a phone is a pain in the f-in ass but there's nothing wrong with the def bonce and other dsp's keep thumpin

  • @cristovalmontoya5222

To me it depends on size of your system and how many channels if you want a dsp. Run cheap basic headunit with a dsp or you can get buy with a nice flat screen multimedia unit that has a decent built in dsp plus most good quality amps have banpass settings. But slopes arebenefits too running dsp. Not sure amps have adjustable slopes yet lol

THANKS JUST REALIZE THE INTERFACE OF THIS DSP IS THE SAME FROM DE MAGUS AP12 PRO DSP

Do you use your amps on flat when using dsp or you like to run both dsp and amp crossovers to use amp as a fail safe if your dsp goes out or you accidentally change something that would damage speakers if your amp setting were not set to backup the dsp. So for mids your dsp set at 120. Can you set your amp high pass at 100 so if your dsp goes out your amp hp will protect your mids with its hp.

You NEED to use your time delay buddy. You can set it up with multiple presets so that one preset is setup for passenger, one for driver, one for pure center. But it makes a significant difference and it’s extremely easy to do. The speaker that is furthest from the listening position is your zero point. So that speaker has zero delay. The easiest way of measuring the distance of Every other speaker, is just to use a laser measuring device. Wham bam. Measure each speaker that is on its own channel, and plug it into the DSP.
ALSO! What is WAY easier than writing your whole build out in a notebook is just to take a photo of your setup on your phone and save it in your notes app.
