Unfortunately, Electronic Arts decided to close the studio so don't expect anymore games like this. It's a shame really, EA should've just sold the franchise or the studio to another publisher. And to be honest, Mercenaries was a lot better when they were with Lucas Arts instead of EA.

Mercenaries: POD is still one of my favorite games of all time. I hope to see a return of the franchise sometime soon but I don't think EA sees the attention for making another one.

I truly believe the fan base would be large enough for this, but sadly EA doesn't care about fans it cares about money and thats it. The reason they release Battlefields with the same generic structor of each game is because its cheaper to shell out games that they know people will buy just for the name itself. Every game is pretty much just a base copy and paste with new textures that give it a new "twist". But hey maybe one day with Just Cause 3 coming out soon they may realize they need a 3rd person open world video game, Then thats where Mercs comes in
