I know she doesn't like the memory and a lot of people trash the series but I was a little girl when she did the Flying Nun and I adored it. She inspired me to be a preschool teacher ( who sings!). More then 50 years later, I'm still at it!

Sally Field, as so many have said in comments, is a national treasure! Her autobiography, "In Pieces" tells so much about her life, and made me admire her even more.
I've always loved her but that book was super depressing, and even though I am a book lover and avid reader I could not finish it - not recommended if you are a fan.
@@MothGirl007 Hmm. I thought it was raw and real and showed her determination and gentle fortitude. Different strokes. Her characters often displayed a kind of goofy youth, and her life story shows so much depth. Her description of the method acting work she did was impressive.
Aside from all your massive,in depth analysis,I just can't believe the flying nun,is here, a million years later, in the 21st century, and looking so wonderful.
The ending brought such emotion. First the sound of something flapping in the wind and then the slow reveal of the flag. I was young when I saw it and had never been out of the US but I felt what she felt in that moment - the relief and safety that flag represents, and knowing you’re “home.”

Sally Field is great in Places in The Heart and deservingly got the Oscar for Best Actress that year. Norma Ray that Sally got her other Oscar for is also EXCELLENT. I have watched both many times and will still watch them again I hope in the future.
I read her book, "In Pieces." Her huge, beautiful smile, pretty face and fun personality hid from the public all she was going through. Sally Field is extraordinary. ❤
Smokey and the Bandit is still one of my favorite Sally Field movies as well as overall film, it's hard to go wrong with a cast like Sally Field, Jackie Gleason, Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and don't forget about Fred The Bassett Hound!!
So great to see her! I have been thinking about Norma Rae a lot in the last few weeks (due to current national issues) and also wondered what Sally has been up to lately. And there she is!❤️❤️❤️
Sally Field is one of a small group of entertainers who is just a class act from start to finish when looking at who she is as a person. There are so few others like her compared to the the number of entertainers in the world. Such as Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Betty White, High Jackman.. to name a few others. There are more, but we need many more. With them as examples the world could be, would be a better place
There are few people in this world who I see and I just smile immediately and my eyes get teary and I feel happy and peaceful in their presence. She has some energy and presence that just brings light and love into the people around her. Everything about her has this beautiful warm gentle and strong light of peace and love. It is there in everything she does and is. She has a Buddha and Jesus energy. A humble simplicity of warmth and compassion and kindness that just exists. Something that comes from beyond, behind, beneath the surface of this illusion. It brings a sweet gentle strong bold light into the world and also out of those around her. Thanks you, Sally Field.
People might be surprised by this, but a lot of people in the Far East in Singapore and Malaysia have followed her career from her TV shows Gidget and the Flying Nun in the 70’s. She isn’t just a national treasure in the US. 😊
Sally's performance in "Norma Rae" is her very best work and she received the Oscar for it. However, she was nearly as good in every other role she ever played. I can't think of even one movie or role that she did not shine in. A true star, who luckily for us, found her calling.
*Sally Fields and Jane Fonda arrested together...I only hope that Lily Tomlin was the one who bailed them out and Dolly Parton drove them home! Very cool people!*
So sweet to listen to you two banter! i always wanted to do improv. i think it's why i love snl so much: i just like the idea of getting to play off each other's Energy live on the spot like that. Keeps things interesting...
I can still remember a line from Flying Nun where Sally's nun character is trying to charm a rich guy to fund their nun bakery and she says, "We need your dough to make our bread" and I LOLed and still remember that one.

What a treat to see the delightful and supremely talented Sally Field. She looks so beautiful and has had a fabulous and well done face lift. Bravo to her surgeon.
She seems like such a nice person and not egotistical. LOL, she practically changed the conversation to a Stephen interview. Interesting, their take on improv vs stand-up.
She has always reminded me of my grandma. They look very similar and are both sweet and funny, although my grandmother is quite a bit older. They both also look great for their age!
*Hard to interview someone who's both an 'American Icon' and 'show-business Legend' for over a half-century* ( *'Norma Rae' alone qualifies her as an 'Icon' of itself* )
I have known Sally Field as an actress since the flying nun then I’m 56 she’s my favorite especially in smoky in the bandit and Forrest Gump she’s brilliant
I used to watch the Flying Nun as a child. Sally was adorable in that role. Looks like she hasn't changed one bit! What a pleasure to see her.
Fell on love with her when I was 8, in 1976! She made fun movies, then proved her chops being a successful dramatic actress.
What a ride 👏😍
