@van wray My opinion comes from her interviews and performances. I haven't met her. I did buy coffee and pie for Gene Hackman one evening back around 1975 and he and my mail deliveryman had a pleasant conversation about aviation.
Sally is such a beautiful lady, and I love that she hasn't given into the temptation (as most Hollywood stars do) and have a bunch of plastic surgery done. She is aging gracefully and looks amazing.

I’m just a few years younger than Sally and she was truly my first real crush. I loved her in Gidget, it still holds up after all these years, and she’s still adorable. I read her book and was really bummed at how she was treated, especially by Burt Reynolds. That she’s still as upbeat, pleasant and engaging is a testament to her true self.
If there were more women like Sally Field in the world, it would be a better place.

Favorite Sally Field movie: Soap Dish. Hilarious. She does absolutely great physical comedy. It is also the best movie for Cathy Moriarty.
I think Steel Magnolias would have to be my favorite Sally Field movie, but Soap Dish is right up there. I haven't seen it in years, but I remember watching it so many times ON VHS. (Oh yeah. I'm old.)

Y'know Dee, I just saw an old re-run of a talk show where Sally had implied (by simply saying "no comment" to a few questions and pregnant pauses) that Burt's work was a joke. As cute as she is, maybe she's a witch. She's living life alone isn't she?

If the Gidget TV series and a half dozen other TV shows including The Flying Nun were what you were used to with Sally Field, like I was, Sybil would have been totally unexpected. I can still recall that ending scene where she says goodbye to all her selves. Fantastic actress!

Worked on LB2 with her and gotta say she is a classy lady. While on that film they announced the beginning of the Iraq war. which Im sure that people think all the LA liberals were busy apologizing but, it was an intense feeling that this was going to be a mess. I was standing next to her as the sound stage is watching the news and I said hope he at least is right on which country we are attacking. She said " Well at least he learned last week that Iraq is not a city in the state of Chicago." I would have LOVED to see her in "The Goat". The Albee play (not the book "My Per Goat" which Bush was enjoying as the children read it to him as the towers fell.

!966 I met Sally at a creek in Oregon during the filming of The Way West. I had a part as an Indian. It was right after I was all made up that I wondered over to the creek. Sally was standing there and when I approached her she looked up at me and said My, My, I don't ever think I have ever seen a blue-eyed Indian before? It was at that moment that my Dad called me over and I didn't have a chance to say my Name. I wonder if she remembers that split second encounter?
