Freddie was such an idiot, but he always made me laugh. I completely agree. The pacing of this series was amazing. By the time it was over, I was ready for a season 2. I hope they give us one.
I disliked Freddy in the beginning but started to like him for his quirkiness. Without Freddie, Eddie never be the general in the mob world, especially Freddy, his last scene with Eddie!
Definitely enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. I really like the film The Gentlemen, but didn’t think it really deserved its own show. Happy to say I was tense and entertained pretty much the entire time. I’m ready for more. Great review, Chris!
I turned off after episode 1. It was a strong episode. But the brother f*s up again and again. And the last straw was when he messed up as the chicken. I knew it was coming, but I hoped they wouldn't go there. Go and watch Mr Inbetween. That's actually funny and not a ridiculous as this. The only bad thing about that show. Is it's only 3 seasons.
No just plays in the same universe, so the show can be watched by itself. However I would watch the movie at some point because it’s one of Ritchie’s best!
I totally agree with you dude, RocknRolla was my favourite too. I'd actually love to see jonny quid in the world of the gentlemen in season 2. That would make my day.
I'd like to see Turkish, Tommy and Mickey reunite for a Snatch sequel before they get too rested. But yes, Love the Gentlemen movie and series! great review
Oh... ok... it was so obvious that they were trying to copy the movie (music ques, joke ques), but if it's legit a spin off I guess that's fine? Not sure. At first I thought it was just a coincidence that it's called "The Gentlemen" and it's just a random tv series, then I noticed how much they are trying to copy the movie, then it's a spin off. I guess that makes sense Only saw the 1st episode, this is what this comment is based on.
I just finished the 3rd episode right now it's getting better and funnier also tell me when you see the third episode there's one scene tell me if it reminds you of a GTA character man I loved that scene 😂 not giving any spoiler okay
I don't know why you give 4 and half couchs for this. Actually the first 3 episodes are doing really great but after that it went all down that impression get from the first three episodes make me curious about what the hell would going next but it really disappointed me the predictable twists turns and the chechide plot disappoint me all-over i give 2 and half stars
I thoroughly enjoyed the series. It was fun! Pure fun! But I do agree it was a little repetitive especially in the middle where Eddie goes from one quest to the other defeating/surpassing a BOSS each episode & trying to amend what his idiot brother Freddy had done but overall it was good. I loved it! My favourite character was Eddie! Wonderfully acted by Daniel Ings. What a guy!! I'm still laughing 😂
I personally didnt like it. I found that the comedic aspects of the series didnt really blend with the more serious gangster themes and charachters. The actors are fantastic and they clearly gave it their all, but I didnt really get on board with the writing and how some scenes were over-exagerated.
Always felt like Guy Ritchie's style was that of a Tarantino wannabe. Or maybe more so a Tarantino light, enjoyable for the moment, less filling and forgettable in the long run.
I like Guy Richie, but this show was just, not even remotely good. The constant operathemed soundtrack throughout almost every scene is unbearable, like nails on a chalkboard, makes me want to rip my ears off. Plotline is bad and uninteresting, characters lacks depth, dialogue is mediocre, im giving it a overall rating of 2 out of 10
Wrath of Men, is an old school crime/revenge thriller. The Covenant is a serious war drama. None of these 2 movies feel like the other Guy Ritchie movies and they´re both excellent in their respective genres.
He was the one part that i couldn't get on with. His scenes are ridiculously annoying and his involvement in the weed heist plot felt really stupid and made it hard to take anything seriously after that especially when he cant see it was the girl who robbed him. Not all stoners are brain dead retards 😂
I love Guy Richie movies. I love Snatch (insert crude joke here), but Rock-n-Rolla has to be my favorite.
That’s his worst

Na rock and rolla is great . Forget idris and Tom hardy both in it
I love a bit o snatch too pal. If you know what I'm sayin old fella

I hope so too!

Jesus, the dialogue was so funny & perfect ! People don’t realise how good dialogue makes everything better! 🤯🤯🤯👍👍👍
Can't go past Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels...there will never be another! :)
word
Snatch is a better movie
Snatch is great
Still holding out for The Real Rocknrolla
2:25 Play with your own quail eggs or however he said it about the priests what pulled over to help him killed me LOL..
Sex and nudity ? Incorrect. But that made the series better. No unnecessary sex or gay scenes. Just story
I loved it, great fun.
I absolutely loved this show & seriously hope there is a season 2. I definitely want more of this cast in this world. Thanks for the review M&M.
It just felt a bit contrived and stylish for no reason.
Guy Ritchie has one style and can't deviate from it.
Enjoyable nonsense though.

Do you know what cigars were they smoking in the show?
What a wonderful show! Great acting, storytelling, direction and location selection! Can’t wait to see what the King and Queen of Pins do in Season 2!
Watched episode 1 now, really enjoying it so far
same here, pretty good hey.
You are me favourite movie reviewer . I am am an Indian who loves watching all kind of art work and I love how you review movies. Thank you 🙏🏻

Mr in-between was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Snatch is great, So is Lock, Stock & Smoking Barrels!
So, do you have to watch the movie before you watch the TV series ? Is it the same characters?
No.
No just plays in the same universe, so the show can be watched by itself. However I would watch the movie at some point because it’s one of Ritchie’s best!
This stands on its own, so you're all good without seeing the movie. But, the movie is awesome!
I totally agree with you dude, RocknRolla was my favourite too. I'd actually love to see jonny quid in the world of the gentlemen in season 2. That would make my day.
Please no, dont ruin rock'n'rolla like that. The gentlemen on netflix was horrible.
@@EricTheBroBean Yeah, thanks for that mate. A great contribution.
I’m a fan now mate. Thanks for your review, it was great!
Great to hear will def checkout now and yes Snatch and Sherlock my favs of GR also

But they have to meet in a blue caravan with a dag! LOL!
Great review.
Rockrolla is a 10 as Lock Stock and Snatch . Just my taste.

I was convinced Freddie was Oscar Isaac. Only after checking I saw it was Daniel Ings.
I love the film but this was far far better.
It was GREAT!
Rockrolla so underrated with a huge cast .
so gutted that the real rocknrolla is probably never gonna get made.
Soon as I saw that movie when it came up , I was like awesome a sequel to that movie I waited and waited ....😢

Ritchie directed those !
Brilliant series and a credit to Guy Ritchies mind, the film was first class as is the series
One of the best things I have seen on streaming in a while!

I don't remember any sex and nudity...
Shower scene? Not really at all. Kids see worse on Disney movies

This series was great . Sucked me right in.
Really liked this tbf, just an easy watch if you dont think about the plot too much and nicely paced.
It’s great
Hello dare, i am from Bangladesh
Hi bot
Cool
4.5 are becoming more and more common now a days
Really enjoyed it. Can’t wait for season 2
I was hoping for an appearance by Jason Statham and Dexter Fletcher that would have made me so happy.
The should have at least 2 or 3 more season.
Best Netflix show hands down
Always felt like Guy Ritchie's style was that of a Tarantino wannabe. Or maybe more so a Tarantino light, enjoyable for the moment, less filling and forgettable in the long run.
No ! Ritchie has a broader creative pallet and style! But love them both

If the uk legalise cannabis, guy Richie will not be making films 😅. Am here in England and I just think he and his films are overrated.
Agree. He's a one trick pony.
