Nice to get an update from the farm on this cold January day and to learn of the wedding plans. Not much happening around here this time of year. We're having our second storm this week with howling winds and single digit temperatures. As Ru said, "I'm sick of it." haha I'm ready for Spring.

What a wonderful episode, Rufus and mum. I love it when some of the animals are behind your mum happily munching away on a bit of good hay. All very content and relaxed. I like mums plans for meals. Oxtail stew with dumplings. Ah yes! Dumplings. I was reared on them. Cooked in the stew, best thing since sliced bread. And what about those cow pat cookies. Does she harvest them whilst they are still warm? Or after a good hard frost? 😂😮😊
All your plans for the future podcasts sound wonderful. Can't wait.
All the best from Lionel and Mary.

We've been very busy and just finished putting a steer in the freezer; last weekend was cut'n pack, yesterday was mince day, today was sausage day and taking corned beef out of its brine. We've had some stinking hot days this summer but regular rain, so there's no summer dormancy of pasture. Mercifully we've been spared the horendous rain and floods our Victorian brethren but a cool change has arrived with 17C forecast for tomorrow! In January! Ive finished picking and freezing raspberries and blackberries, gooseberry jam, redcurrant jelly, loquat chutney and tomorrow's job is picking and bottling peaches. The tomato crop will be dismal this year.

Hey guys! Currently we are having a lot of lamb chops and Dexter stake on the bbq! Love the Hereford! I have often thought what large breed I would get if I had more land, and I think it would be Herefords. Your pigs look great! I miss my pigs (sometimes) it’s been so wet here and we not had much of a summer. We were flooded in last Monday the road was closed. My shed had water running through it and the goats were not happy

Adam! Great to hear from you!! That BBQ sounds phenomenal, I went to a restaurant recently (you’ll like this), and they actually labelled a menu item Dexter Beef… must be getting a name for itself !!
Goats don’t like the water? I don’t blame them! Great to hear the update & keep well Adam from us here in the UK
