I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago, but I cannot stop binge-watching your video! You are so unique and calm among other UA-camrs and similar channels! Love the “my beauty lovely!”
When you grew up in Zambia, and you live in milan and seeing Emmy eating the tennis biscuits just made me crave it. Thise were not even my favourite bakers biscuits, the romans creams are the best, so are the red labels lemon flavours which I love dipping it in milk and off course the eet-sum-mor.
Damn, Romany creams! Used get them in the Uk as a kid and they were called gypsie creams, I absolutely adored them, so sad they discontinued making them for the Uk market. I am now craving them!
Hi. I am in US. When I was in college 30yrs ago (Haha- sharing my years!)... I would by at specialty food section of Cost Plus / World Market, out of this world delicious lemon. Cookies and have been trying to find since.Think here, you like lemon and have European, British, & SouthAfrican baked products - you possibly may know the cookies I am craving. They were a petit beurre cookie sandwich. .a very tart lemon cream icing type between the two cookies. I feel as if the petit beurre cookies had also been dipped in a sugar syrup or something & then placed in an oven to dry & create a shiny-ish golden glaze. The over the cookie part- baked on glaze, may even been a lemon flavor- dont remember this part, it is possible tho. And after that, the lemon filling added. // I feel they must still sell these cookies as they were delicious. It's just not a brand carried in USA. I've even tried to imitate them but mine were just, not right. / I looked up 'your' cookie you mention and it's not same one; but I will try it. PLS if you might be familiar with European, maybe British cookie I am talking about- pls let me know. Thanks kindly One of my fav cookies is Pims orange flavor, even tho theyve changed over the years- but still v nice. Wish theyed make a lemon too. ty
@@NeutralNinetails I know this comment was a month ago. In case you haven't tried it yet, I tried it and it doesn't work. Turns out all the thickening is the curdling of the condensed milk by the lemon juice. I threw three egg yolks into my failed coconut milk tart, baked it, and... yep that was delicious.
Wow, this definitely takes me back to my childhood 😋 Would love to see you make more traditional Afrikaans desserts. My favourites growing up were Melktert (Milk tart) and Koeksisters (sort of like a syrupy doughnut) Love your videos 😍

Non dairy creamer is definitely something I’m ashamed to admit I ate liberally as a child...my mom just tossed it at me in restaurants to shut me up and it was the 80s so no judging!! Now, I still have an occasional yen and predisposition to loving the stuff. Soooo I’ve got to make this and I’m going to push forward and say to hell with all the people who want to remind me about palm oils and all that jazz, it’s not going to be eaten every day but I’m definitely eating it tomorrow. As usual Emmy THANK YOU!! 🙏🏻 Edit: the tribe is growing and y’all are hands down the best people on the internet 🙏🏻
I totally ate creamer too! Every morning when my mom was making her coffee I'd wait by the counter for her to give me a spoon of the creamer powder. I thought I was weird for this, so it's good to know there are other people who liked the creamer by itself too, lol
MY PEOPLE!!! Here we’ve been lurking in the shadows, powder of a not so illicit variety making us keep secrets and blush at the public disgust!! Okay tribe, let’s wear it proudly!! Bring on the faintly dusty non dairy mustaches!
I'm a have a TON of lemons from my lemon tree, condensed milk, and I buy my coffee creamer at Sam's (so needless to say I have enough) I will however need to go buy the cookies, I think I'm going to try Maria cookies. Thanks Emmy😍
I did some time in prison years ago (mistakes of my youth, I have since changed my life around) and we used to make this all the time... We called it cheesecake lol
I am South African and this is one of my favourite deserts. We never call it a cheesecake here... lol Shout out to all the South Africans here. Lekker, brasse!
SkipperJane the cool whip jello pie/cake has like 100 different versions. Chocolate cookies and strawberry jello, nilla wafers and peach jello (I like that one). Black cherry jello with OREO and coconut crust is interesting (cherry chocolate pie I think that one is called). I like coconut pudding and cool whip with a graham cracker crust
VoluntaryismIsTheAnswer That is true. I’m betting you could add booze to all the JELLO pies, like a Jell-O shot with a crust.I like desserts you can get drunk on- kills two birds with one pie...er stone lol.
The way you described the Tennis cookie made me think of Gamesa, "Barras de Coco", they are delicious Mexican cookies you can get at any Latin grocery store and even Walmart.
Lol. Any sugary cereal would probably work well... bet this would be good with cinnamon toast crunch, too... golden grahams? (Although that's pretty close to regular old Graham crackers...)
I’m going to make this tomorrow! As always you make the entire video enjoyable to watch. My husband and I have decided you are our favorite person to listen to because your voice is delightful and full of joy. Thank you for sharing. We love you!!
Hi! I have a question, have you ever used the flavored creamer for this? If so is there a ratio of the flavored to plain? Or is it just straightforward, same amount flavored as there would be plain? Thank you!
@@sashleymo4 Hey there I don't know if you're still wanting to do this or have in the meantime but you could replace them like for like. You wouldn't need to change the amount. Just use the same amount of the flavored creamer in place of the plain. Regards from cape town, south africa

Aaah man, I'm South African and let me tell you, Cremona tart is something we eat all year round. So sweet of you to make it! You ought to give Malva pudding a try. Nothing beats a proper malva pudding with homemade custard ❤️ Yummmmmm 🤤
Mom used to make this during holidays. It was a great alternative to expensive cheesecakes or ice cream, especially in my village. When I grew up and wanted to impress my colleagues, I made this. They still rave on about it and ask me to make it for events.
I just made this, and WOW. It really is tasty. It’s so silky smooth and delicious. I mostly taste the lemon and the condensed milk flavors. So simple, and really enjoyable. I’m keeping this recipe around, for sure.
This video inspired me to make one myself. I’m celiac so I had to make it with “graham style” crackers. In order to emulate the coconut flavor of the tennis biscuits, I used coconut oil in lieu of butter and added some unsweetened flaked coconut into the crust itself. Also I put in a bunch of lemon zest right into the filling in order to make it actually taste lemony (and as an excuse to use my fancy microplaner). Sooooo delicious! Next time I’m adding blueberry pie filling on top.
@@kissedbysun2517 you can use sugar maybe but it wont taste the same. Sweetened condensed milk is DELICIOUS. When I use it in a dessert and have some extra I just spread it on toast.
Try coconut condensed milk. If you can't find any where you live, buy coconut milk and make your own. There are recipes on Google. Normal condensed milk is very bad for lactose intolerant people. Unfortunately coffee creamer still contains milk proteins but luckily it is lactose free. Hope this helps. Cremora tart is absolutely delicious. Even when made with coconut condensed milk.
This looks delicious and I cannot wait to see what you're going to do LOL! Okay, so I watched it, it is pretty and glossy but I'm not so sure I dig it Mike that if I did eating spoonfuls of it as a kid, which I was just reminded of doing. Thank you for sharing and have a nice evening.
I like that you go the extra mile to get the correct ingredients, even if you have to order them. I just feel like when people substitute the traditional recipes with their own alternatives, the spirit of the recipe kind of changes. So thank you!
I'm so intrigued by this recipe. The sweetness must come from the condensed milk . . . eh? I can't help but wonder what a few drops of an extract . . . like lemon or coconut might do for it. I'm anxious to give it a try.
Yes, the sweetness comes from the condensed milk, but I think the lemon juice is essential. The acidity of the lemon juice reacts with the condensed milk to thicken the filling, and I don't think lemon extract would to the same thing.
This is basically my family’s no bake holiday cheese cake recipe except instead of the creamer and water we just use cream cheese. If you want to add a extract, try vanilla, that’s what I usually add 😋 the lemon is just about impossible to taste!
@@emmymade I mean in addition to the recipe as you made it. . . . as you indicated . . . it didn't have a distinct flavor - - so - - maybe an extract would fix that. . . ? ? lemon, coconut, almond, . . . etc Maybe ? ?

Thank you, haven't seen anything proudly South African from you in a long time. 💜
The amazement of how people come up with such recipes. The human mind really is a great thing when it’s used towards the right idea😊
Hi. Was so nice seeing this. I am South African, and this Cremora tart recipe I have been making years and always my family's choice if I make it. My brother passed away few years ago and this was always his favorite He always nagged me to make it, this is a vary tasty desert, and we like to also combine by putting in some pineapple aswell sometimes.
Or I put cheries and nuts on top.
Also new one I found is a coffee cremora tart, haven't tried it yet but Def will
I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago, but I cannot stop binge-watching your video! You are so unique and calm among other UA-camrs and similar channels! Love the “my beauty lovely!”
Now I know what to do with the 1 kilo bottle of coffee creamer I bought impulsively. Thanks Emmy!
🙌🏼
I am not judging but how do you buy that much by impulse?

Story of my life. 😂
Yes!!! Romany Creams are my favourite cookies ever!!
And now I'm craving Romany Creams, thanks.
I was just looking up the Tennis Biscuits online and saw the other flavors Bakers make. Now I guess I should order the Romany Creams. :-)
Wish theyed make a lemon too. ty
The creamer isn’t what makes it set like a cheesecake, it will happen just with the lemon juice and the condensed milk by themselves
Would it work with coconut milk?
DestinyDK ooh I don’t know that sounds yummy though, you should try it
@@NeutralNinetails I know this comment was a month ago. In case you haven't tried it yet, I tried it and it doesn't work. Turns out all the thickening is the curdling of the condensed milk by the lemon juice. I threw three egg yolks into my failed coconut milk tart, baked it, and... yep that was delicious.
mslvc2011 what about if you use evaporated milk and sugar
@@NeutralNinetails *Would it work with coconut milk?*
Probably not because lemon juice reacts with milk proteins.
I love how excited she gets about her cooking ! So fun to watch
South african here!
Thank you for embracing our ingredients and recipes. Yes definitely a dunking biscuit. 😊
NOTIFICATION GAAANG! ❤️
Emmy’s vids are always an immediate click!
Wow, this definitely takes me back to my childhood 😋
Would love to see you make more traditional Afrikaans desserts. My favourites growing up were Melktert (Milk tart) and Koeksisters (sort of like a syrupy doughnut)
Love your videos 😍
Oh yes, koeksisters would be a fun video, because there's so much process involved!
Yeah I've had the same problem since moving to Australia, so hard to find all those classic desserts. I'm also not much of a cook which doesn't help either 😅
Somebody should send her a “Kook en Geniet” recipe book. Does not come more traditional than that. :-)
I just had a horrible nightmare and put this on to help me calm down before going back to sleep. Thank you Emily for your wonderfully soothing videos ❤️
I love the way she talks. Sometimes I watch her videos, because the way she talks and describes things is just so relaxing. Love this woman.
I love how you find such beauty and happiness over the ”simplest” of things.
🙏🏻
Edit: the tribe is growing and y’all are hands down the best people on the internet 🙏🏻
Same😊
I totally ate creamer too! Every morning when my mom was making her coffee I'd wait by the counter for her to give me a spoon of the creamer powder. I thought I was weird for this, so it's good to know there are other people who liked the creamer by itself too, lol
Ew
MY PEOPLE!!! Here we’ve been lurking in the shadows, powder of a not so illicit variety making us keep secrets and blush at the public disgust!!
Okay tribe, let’s wear it proudly!! Bring on the faintly dusty non dairy mustaches!
Connor Mullen you’re not invited!!
I'm a have a TON of lemons from my lemon tree, condensed milk, and I buy my coffee creamer at Sam's (so needless to say I have enough) I will however need to go buy the cookies, I think I'm going to try Maria cookies.
Thanks Emmy😍
María won't work, totally different cookie. Tennis has coconut in it I think. There are similar cookies in international sections of supermarket

I did some time in prison years ago (mistakes of my youth, I have since changed my life around) and we used to make this all the time... We called it cheesecake lol
I was just going to say! Prison Cheesecake!
I am South African and this is one of my favourite deserts. We never call it a cheesecake here... lol Shout out to all the South Africans here. Lekker, brasse!

Wolf ShadowWhisper yes we do...why what do you call it?
Omg, proudly South African. Been eating this dessert since I was a kid.
This reminds me of a no-bake “margarita” cake my aunt would make with a pretzel crust and cool whip/lime filling.
I had that recipe, it was delicious!
@@Boredchinchilla yeah but those don't have cuervo and triple sec lol
VoluntaryismIsTheAnswer That is true. I’m betting you could add booze to all the JELLO pies, like a Jell-O shot with a crust.I like desserts you can get drunk on- kills two birds with one pie...er stone lol.
VoluntaryismIsTheAnswer I betcha you could decrease the other liquids in the “margarita” pie to add the alcohols!🤘🏻✌🏻😉
that cheesecake looks divine, can't wait to watch the video!
Very good recipe Emmy I added lime zest and substituted half of lemon juice with lime juice to make a key lime variation my family loved it.
The way you described the Tennis cookie made me think of Gamesa, "Barras de Coco", they are delicious Mexican cookies you can get at any Latin grocery store and even Walmart.
I’m not even interested in cooking her voice is just so soothing to my ears
I seriously cannot love her anymore. She always has my fullest attention😍
I'm soooo making this with fruity pebbles for the crust, I cannot wait to try this out!
Lol. Any sugary cereal would probably work well... bet this would be good with cinnamon toast crunch, too... golden grahams? (Although that's pretty close to regular old Graham crackers...)
Omgosh that's brilliant🤑
My bf has a gluten allergy so I'm always substituting crusts
The background music at 6:55 sent me down a rabbithole of lounge music and I could not be more thankful, thanks Emmy!
I made this today with a regular graham cracker crust and it was delicious! Definitely a new cheap and super easy favorite!
I swear I'm always watching another one of your lovely videos when you upload a new one!
Emmy I'm definitely trying this as a dry coffee creamer fan as a 3rd grader

This is such a South African classic and can be very very sweet depending on recipe, but we adore it! Thanks for showing it appreciation ❤️
I’m going to make this tomorrow! As always you make the entire video enjoyable to watch. My husband and I have decided you are our favorite person to listen to because your voice is delightful and full of joy. Thank you for sharing. We love you!!
That coffee whipped topping you made probably would go great with this cake
You should try adding fruit to the mix. Crushed pineapple, passion fruit etc. Delicious! From a South African in Magaliesburg, South Africa
@@Tasha22Bella thank you so much for your reply! I appreciate it!

So proud to say that I'm South African and have made this recipe so many times myself! Love it! Thanks Emmy!
Yay! I actually have all the ingredients for this! I will have to use honey grahams for the crust though😀
I bet those coconut cookies you can get in dollar stores would work crumbled up with some butter added, and they are just $1.00 for a pretty huge package

You ought to give Malva pudding a try. Nothing beats a proper malva pudding with homemade custard ❤️
Yummmmmm 🤤
Milk tart and Peppermint crisp fridge tart are my favourites 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Next time I’m adding blueberry pie filling on top.
i will definitely try this. As I get older, my lactose intolerance has gotten worst.
I was excited too, until she poured a can of sweetened condensed MILK into it. Oh well...
@@kissedbysun2517 you can use sugar maybe but it wont taste the same. Sweetened condensed milk is DELICIOUS. When I use it in a dessert and have some extra I just spread it on toast.
Lol. I'm not vegan, but I was wondering if there was a way to make this completely dairy free.
@May Day Dreamer. I hear that! Mine is nose diving quick. I take lactose enzyme tablets (Costco brand) just to enjoy a DQ sundae 😜
I'm from South Africa and I just absolutely love this tart. Think I'm going to make it again in this lock down time
I added a splash of vanilla and used a Graham cracker crust and guuuuurl it's a no bake cheesecake 🙌🏾
No its not a no bake cheese cake...its a traditional South African cremora tart...does not taste anything like a cheese cake.
@@delialubke6610 I think you misunderstood, with the modification I made it tasted just like a no bake cheesecake
I want to try with coconut condensed milk!
Amy G omg good idea!
This is basically my family’s no bake holiday cheese cake recipe except instead of the creamer and water we just use cream cheese. If you want to add a extract, try vanilla, that’s what I usually add 😋 the lemon is just about impossible to taste!
@@emmymade I mean in addition to the recipe as you made it. . . . as you indicated . . . it didn't have a distinct flavor - - so - - maybe an extract would fix that. . . ? ? lemon, coconut, almond, . . . etc Maybe ? ?
You seriously remind me of the Julia child of this generation. 😊 Love you Emmy! 💜
