I got this tablet recently and it's wonderful. I don't know why people keep complaining about the headphone jack being missing on budget tablets when even flagship devices abandoned it long ago. I see no one complaining about the IPad not having one...
Because many people are spec noobs and only go by the ports etc while in fact it supports true wireless audio etc since it has a build in dac so even them cheap 3.5mm to usb adapter will work
My pad 5 still going strong after 2-3 years since i own it. The "missing" bloatwares have happened to global Redmi Pad as well. Guess they take a different strategy with their tablets, such as taking profits from smartphones to subsidize tablet so they can gain market share from, say, Huawei which is actually quite strong in tablets (and notebooks) with their SuperDevice branded feature.
Whichever it is it's such a nice pleasant change from the bloatware mess from before. I hope they keep it up and do this with the Xiaomi phones. Keep the cheaper Poco and Redmi's with bloat if they must do it.
@@thecarboy95 like I said, it's only on tablets. I guess there's a correlation with the lack of mobile network, as the one having it is China exclusive and AFAIK the China ROM still has bloatwares because the Chinese buyers are fine with it so long as they can get the device for cheap.
My wife and i have bought this tablet to our daugther for 17. birthday, we bought version 6Gb RAM, 128 Gb ROM and we buy the keyboard and Xiaomi pen(2nd gen) and tablet is fantastic. Daughter is super happy, she is using tablet like laptop, and she draw fantastic pictures, screen is also fantastic for working and for watching movies and showss, battery is also super, speakers also super, and this tablet has no flaws, tablet is completly fantastic and you get much more for price that you pay. I think Xiaomi Tablets really studied a lot of the market requirements, I still have my pad 5 and it can still go head to head with other tablets in terms of games, multimedia, and over all needs. Xiaomi really knows how to produce quality products for a small cost.
Xiaomis tablets have been really solid this year. My only issue with this is the hardware is near identical to the xiaomi pad 5, the only upgrades seem to be minor screen/cpu and battery bumps you will barely notice. So it seems the pad 5 is probably still a better option given the reduced price now. Also it seems xiaomi and oneplus too seem to have stripped out some of the Google specific tablet features and additions they introduced in android 13. I almost feel like the Xiaomi pad 6 pro is really the best deal from this years android tablets, given the fact it has a Snapdragon Gen 1 and video out, making it pretty unique and probably the best android gaming tablet out there at an affordable price, shame its China only.
There is significant upgrades IMO 144Hz, higher screen resolution, wifi 6, CPU and GPU bumps - Giztop has both the pad 5 and pad 6 at 299 USD so its a no brainer - Pad 6 any day.
Honestly, no bloatware alone makes this this a first option compared to the competitors. I ordered the exact same model as this review. Looking forward to using it.
I second some of the others and can confirm the Pad 5 is a fantastic tablet for the price, and even above that. Much better than a basic iPad and the 6 will probably be the same. Get this if you're thinking about it.
I have the Chinese version of the Pad 6 and the Keyboard case, which has a touchpad which works great. Also the USB port on this tab is 3.2 with WiFi AX 6.

Will you be reviewing the Xiaomi Pad 6s Pro as not sure weather to go for this or the Samsung Tab 9+? Also, is there any issues / things to consider if ordering the Chinese model from Giztop? Thanks
@Techtablets many thanks for this review...I'd ask , for gaming use , which is better between xiaomi pad 6 and redmi pad pro? A problem is that pad 6 seem to remain stuck at A 14, while redmi pad pro would be receive A15 and A16. Which one should i buy of the two? They are at similiar price now at Aliexpress
The only downside for me that you forgot at the end is the lack of GPS. I fly airplane sometimes and I would like to use it for nav (SDVFR) but I stil consider to buy it .
@@Techtablets lol, burn in police. Let them have their inferior LCD IPS screens or worse TN. Ha, life's to short to worry about screen burn. Use it, enjoy it,
Exactly and if you don't set the screen time out to 30 minutes and run 100% brightness non stop you wont have burn in. My LG CX OLED is coming up to 3 years and I use it all the day no burn in!
2:17 OLED screen is a bit out of the price range of this tablet I think. Cheapest OLED tablet I could find was a used lenovo pad pro (2021) for almost double the price of a new pad 6 and double the price of a used one, not to mention the chipset, ram and storage is exactly the same on the base model, brightness is similar, resolution a bit lower, but lenovo screen is 9% larger, has microsd and metal back and has biometrics like fingerprint and face id. A decent little upgrade, but not double the price type of upgrade, LCD is good enough for the price I'd say.
Great review, Chris! I believe we should normalize with no 3.5 mm jack, no GPS, no Sim connectivity in tablets today, which is a shame! Though, the Vivo IQOO Pad with Dimensity 9000+ or the Oneplus Pad seems to be more appealing price and performance value. Although, I'd go with the Vivo for the build quality and it costs $399.
Hi Chris, thank you so much for you reviews. Great review, got myself a MiPad 5 after watching your past videos. However it seems like not too much of a big upgrade to go for however I am really curious about the stylus. Would you also test the new pen with MiPad 5 and if the improved latency benefits the MiPad 5?

I have a pad 6 8gb 256 gb and I have to say I am very disappointed with the battery life, how is it possible that a brand new device of mid-high range specs has such a terrible battery life? I would be surprised to reach 6h of screen, if lucky. This indoor at 90Hz Refresh rate. Very disappointed because I actually replaced my old device mostly for the battery life, and now I have a super fancy tablet with compromised portability due to a poor battery. The SD8G2 is very expensive as it is from the superior TSMC nodes rather than the cheaper Samsung Fabs of yesteryear. Hence tablets are coming out with older chips that are really now priced bargain basement but are okay for lower mid-range tablets.
suggest to drill down specifically, what program/apps you will be using, some apps are only available on android or windows, for example. You may also find that desktop OS [e.g. windows or mac or chromeos] tend to be more productivity-oriented compared to mobile OS [e.g. android, ios], which started more for content consumption. e.g a budget chromebook may be cheaper and more suitable for your usage scenario, compared to a tablet+keyboard cover, for example, this particular model only has 1 fixed angle, and no trackpad
Could you try the Xiaomi Pen Gen 2 on the Mi Pad 5? The 1st Gen had a bit of problems and i would like to know If It could be solved just by buying this new one, instado of the whole tablet. Thanks
Can you please help me decide between the pad 6(256GB) / or pad 6 pro(8-128GB) knowing that they cost roughly the same at 300$ , does the 870 start outdating and should i aim for getting a more future proof CPU (8+gen1) ? Please note that i'm not going to use it for gaming, it's only for studying What do you think ? Thanks in advance
does the stylus 2 have a tilt sensor as well as pressure? How much does it differ from Apple and Samsung on a 1 to 10 scale? Is it comfortable for simple architectural/geometric drawings?
Compared to my Tab S 8 Ultra S-Pen or the Apple pencil I had on my iPad Pro M1 it's a 6.5 out of 10. Not quite as accurate, fast or with the same feeling. Tilt sensor no, It doesn't the 4096 pressure levels. Q: comfortable for simple architectural/geometric drawings. Yes I would think so.

There are apps like GlideX you can use it as an extended display. But its' a very nice tablet she might like it? OR maybe she perfers ipads as tablets not Android ones?
Don't really think she prefers ipads I guess it's more that she's used to it and well ipads were always good not like droid ones and she only used ipads...reasons unknown 😂.
Hi yes it's good for kind of use.
i do think s pen is a little better but with this tablet, you'd get much much powerful processor, better screen, higher ram/storage
Good day guys! Does it work with nintendo switch pro controller?
Could you try the Xiaomi Pen Gen 2 on the Mi Pad 5? The 1st Gen had a bit of problems and i would like to know If It could be solved just by buying this new one, instado of the whole tablet. Thanks
Can you please help me decide between the pad 6(256GB) / or pad 6 pro(8-128GB) knowing that they cost roughly the same at 300$ , does the 870 start outdating and should i aim for getting a more future proof CPU (8+gen1) ?
Please note that i'm not going to use it for gaming, it's only for studying
What do you think ?
Anyone knows how to open multiple Word windows on Android 13? I really struggle finding it. Coming from iPad, this is something I'd like to use.
Could i know your widget weather, look so clean
Overall performance? And usage rate?
Can you please review the Nubia Z50????
Though it is a China only device, it’s the cheapest SD8 Gen2. Also with decent cameras.
Ok I'm not a tablet user. Have always 2 phones. But my wife is. she's on s23ualways Samsung since note8 and ipads. Not pro just simple cheap ipad for basicly casual use..I think the iPad she has now is about 3-4 years old.. should I get her this one?
looks overall amazing and 870 is better then 8g1 or 888 so yeah chip is more then enough.
Can you use it as a display extension for windows laptop let's say? If wife wouldn't enjoy it I'd find a use that way 😂
As always great review great vid ty 👑
There are apps like GlideX you can use it as an extended display. But its' a very nice tablet she might like it? OR maybe she perfers ipads as tablets not Android ones?
Don't really think she prefers ipads I guess it's more that she's used to it and well ipads were always good not like droid ones and she only used ipads...reasons unknown 😂.
Eventually its a matter off trying out and see.maybe even I will become tab user lol. U never know. will check that app defo -cause that's quite an added value - defo it's in my to buy list.
Thanks for answer.
Excellent review. If they would have had some SD card support they would have gotten a sale and order. Thanks!
Smartphone nowadays has removed that slot too
Cardreader or even external sdd via otg works

Is it better to buy iped 9 or xiaomi pad 6 for gaming, watching movies and taking notes which one do u recommend?
iPad 9 for gaming only is worth it.
Any plans for the Honor 90 Sir Chris? It seems to have a very good camera system so far.
Yes working on it. 😃
Awesome! Thank you. A brief side-by-side comparison with some phones of the same price range would be gladly appreciated (of course if you still have them).
when do you think Lenovo will launch Lenovo Tab Pro 12.7?

Very good tablet enjoy!

Do you know if Xiaomi will release a global version of Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro?
Pretty sweet device for the price. Btw, have you tried cross compatibility of the pen? Does it work on iPad OS or other Android tablets too?
Just curious as the logic of active pen is similar. 😅
Pen doesn't seem to work on my other tablets no. Not on my Tab S8 Ultra or Huawei MatePad 11
@@Techtablets Oh.. anyway at this price point proprietary compatibility is good too. :)
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! My Mi Max 2 is now 6 years old, stuck on Android 7.1.1 and I'm slowly losing apps. I ADORE the squarish aspect ratio and cannot find ANYTHING like it anywhere on a mobile. Forums about the Mi Max 2/3 are begging Xiaomi to release another...
@TechTablets, can you recommend something? Even a small tablet, if a billfold cover is available?
:)
Hello! Does it have USB-C video out?
Is there any new redmi tablet for 2023?
Not sure sorry hopefully!
Can you do a comparison of this with blackview tab15?
Any chances for the pro version to be global?
does the redmi pad and redmi pad SE have pen support and palm rejection? (not this pad 5 in the video)
Very nice design, good specs for it's price.
Why are the widgets different from the pro version?I don't understand
Great Review as always. But, its not a great upgrade if you already have Pad 6 and man its really hard to find the accesories.
Not a huge upgrade no.
Where to purchase keyboard and stylus?
