    XIAOMI should find a solution with you. You are a few of UA-camrs reviewing fair and square their products and of course all we know how much Americans love Apple and give them free pass and throwing shade on anything outside of US. I bought Poco F3, Lenovo Tab and Samsung Note after your reviews. I don't agree all the times but you are consistent and methodical. A family guy and not an overzealous kid wanting to make quick money leaking the balls of big companies.

      Thanks for the comment. I don't know it happened before they tried to "send me a message" by pulling review units delaying them and messing about with me. It happened again and I'm not playing their games with them trying to manipulate my reviews. This doesn't mean I cannot buy Xiaomi tech that interests me like this Pad 6 Pro and 13 Ultra which is coming maybe next week the review. 99% sure I will buy the Xiaomi 14 series and review it (Chinese ROM) and also the Mix Fold 3 when out if it's interesting.

    Tablet looks good, I like the 11" size and the 8+ gen1 is a great choice from Xiaomi. Bezels are fine, we still need something to grab into. Still disappointed in the IPS screen, hopefully if the Galaxy Tab S9 comes back with an AMOLED the Chinese manufacturers will follow suit.
    Glad you finally got your USB video out lol
    I wonder what it will retail here in Europe, Lenovo recently always has their P11 Pro gen2 8/256 mediatek model (currently typing from one!) For sale at 349€ from their website and a bunch of etailers and that's a lot of value to go against.

But yes it's time for the new gen to show it's prowess. the pad 6 with the sd 870 - it's also a very hard to ignore offer... and this pro version with that 8+gen one... even though a bit higher prices i still think it's more than a decent price at 430-450$. • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England Рік тому

      The reason they do it is to upsell their higher storage models. The margins for the base models are small, so they have to make money from selling the higher spec. Most people would buy the base and use an SD card if they had SD. It would then become very hard for Xiaomi to make a reasonable profit. This way, they can keep base models competitive.
      OEMs have the data and know what consumers do, so they understand that providing SD card slots equals lower profits. They also know that it feeds the Samsung monster, as Samsung are the main supplier of SD cards. Adding to Samsung's profits, a company actively trying to wipe you out is bad business. So Xiaomi is moving away from anything Samsung. Using the SD8+G1, a TSMC chip, and not using OLED means they can continue to dump Samsung out of their supply chain.

    As the owner of the Xiaomi Pad 5, I think, that there is absolutely no reason to buy the Xiaomi Pad 6/Pro. In my opinion, the only obvious difference is the more powerful processor.
    SD 860 is still great. If you do not play heavy games, then this processor is enough for all tasks, including browsing, reading, watching videos, etc.
    The rest of the changes are minor. I don't need a USB 3.2 with a VideoOut.
    However, I would buy this tablet if it had an AMOLED screen. But for now I'll stay on the Xiaomi Pad 5.
    Although I will probably buy a Galaxy Tab S9 (S9+) as soon as it will be available. I want to own a tablet with an AMOLED screen again.
    And, yes. 3:20 - it's the place to charge the stylus.

      @andyH_England Рік тому

      We are going USB-C for all IO, and jacks are in their final encore. The EU is pressing for one-IO-for-all, so it is a done deal, just when. OEMs may need a second USB-C port, though I have been using a splitter for years and still wonder why people complain about the inevitable loss of headphone jacks.

    • @jayrome8764
      @jayrome8764 5 місяців тому

      @@andyH_EnglandThe very reason that you have to use a splitter is why the 3.5 port should still be included. Removing it doesn't solve a problem, it creates one. You shouldn't have to be walking around with dongles and splitters to get such basic functionality. Most people who use wired headsets don't use the usb-c type. Most high quality headphones rely on the 3.5 jack. Furthermore, not all type-c ports and cables are made equal, so while I agree that type-c is the future, it doesn't solve the portability and compatibility (convenience) issues of mobile devices. The 3.5 port should co-exist with type-c. I share the same sentiment regarding expandable storage.

    Xiaomi can make pretty good value with their slave labour and goverment support. Still the way they approach things make me avoid their products. Had their phone, and it just seemed in so many ways opposite to what I want, ads poping out often within many apps, software deciding what is "good enough for you" like you can't zoom in a photo in a gallery above certain aspect (on samsung I can go like 10 times that), selfie cams being much worse, and other crappy communist shit like that...and they aren't even that cheaper than Samsung or iPhone anymore. You can buy something more affordable like Note 13 Pro but so you can an A55 and they would both be close to flagship level and great value for money, give a decent main cam and kinda passable other cams, Ok performance etc, so it's not like they are giving something so amazing. And if you want a real flagship a Xiaomi 14 Ultra will cost you as much as any iPhone or Samsung S24 Ultra, so it's not even gettting a cheaper communist phone, but just spending a bunch of money for a communist phone.

      They will yes. Good move and makes it seems more certain they will release it globally.

    Does it have any issues with overheating? SD8Gen1 is pretty notorious for overheating
