  • Pilgrim left the City of Destruction crying, “Life, life, eternal life!” He had a sure guide-his Bible-and he had a burden that needed to be lifted. Pilgrim knew that he needed a Savior in a dark world doomed for destruction. In this session, Dr. Derek W.H. Thomas describes the importance of the Bible in the life of the Christian while considering what it means to be a pilgrim in this world.

Very good instruction. I can relate this sermon as to a letter from a very dear loved on. O how we treasure, we seek a quite place so you will not be distribute and you read slowly and devour each word. Also you keep your treasure in a special place so that you man read them over & over. Yes, God's Word is like this, O the joy to be drawn into his presence through his Holy Word. Thank u for posting.

I have looked over comments on the recent release of pilgrim's progress computer animated movie... And have seen disturbing perspectives - one in particular with the simple words, "works salvation". And it shows the ridiculous Americanization of the Gospel of amenity and "abundant Life"... Taken out of context and spread with thick layers of misunderstood hyper-grace and a disregard for even the simple action of belief-which is what true faith produces. It is sad but also the evidence of contemporary Christianity's indictment. That's the type of person that would give this thumbs down.

I am locked in the castle of Despair. I believe in His Promise, but I keep getting captured here over and over again .. WHY?

You might pray the Psalms. I found that helpful for me.

Yeah, I think David in the Psalms too wrestles with this constantly (cf. Ps 6, 25, 38, 39, 42 and so on).
