This song just seems so remorseful and sad but has a backdrop of hope you can almost see. Very beautiful and moving
Agreed, serious "We've been through so much, lost so many... but we'll endure, and one day we'll reach the peace we seek" vibes.
Well, they did have to escape a dying planet (Auriga), while fighting necrophages, broken lords and so on, so... yeah, they lost a lot :/
Because life is hard. But it is also beautiful and even
in the deep dark of space it never fails to give us hope.
"You can't just teleport your fleet behind me"
That's where you're wrong kiddo

"I can do nothing more for my people... the Vaulters..."
"...but maybe this floating magic space cairn will help us out?"
The lodestone of the nine rejuvenated opbot
The intro for the Vaulters was very good, but you do need some Suspension of Disbelief to accept that the Argosy just somehow managed to find itself inside a Lodestone of the Nine, almost perfectly coinciding with the fact the ship had virtually lost all power, and their Opbot also shut down.
@@Wasserkaktus That's the part where Endless Space mixes Sci-Fi with fantasy. This turn of fate just fits the Vaulters so much.
I've played 4X games alot, some set in space like Stellaris but Endless Space is alot more poetic and mystical as opposed to the cold space in other games. Destiny exists, the Endless exist and Dust isn't just money.
@@ferikk92 Dust isn't just money. Are you REALLY sur ?
@@lordtau24 No, I think that's true. From the pathfinder trailer we knew that Dust is capable of creating life, lifting mountains and give enormous power (which can result in bad result if handed by bad persons) so yeah, Dust isn't just currency in the game.
Edit: Also if you use Cravers faction, Dust is their food.
First you bring flawless theory to endless legend, now you bring the vaulters theme to endless space.
You can't keep playing with my feelings like that flybyno!
What EL track has Flawless Theory in it?
They remixed it and added it in the Tempest expansion!

What about Dungeon of the Endless
That Endless Legends vibe...
Vaulters are my favourite faction in ES2. Played them long enough to make this music feel like home to me. Comfortable, familiar, reminding me that I know how to handle whatever any galaxy can throw my way.
Bringing some axes and a crossbow to a spacefight.
Gutsy.
but what about the homie action posing with a pea shooter on the upper-left corner of this art
No less gutsy, considering the hazardous nature of space.
The thing is, the axe IS deadly but you obviously need to close in. Dangerous in a long-range firefight. Also, there's a lot of things that can made the axe fly away.
The crossbow on the other hand....
I don't know the capability. Is it automatic or (semi-)manual ?, does the arrow a lot more penetrating than the standard Vaulters bullet ? and, with gravity, do you have to calculate for your shots ?
These two weapons are old-fashioned to guns. And it justified considering they recently escaped from Auriga.
the Vaulter bowguns are at least semi-automatic, as shown in the combat sequences of EL. They fire three bolts in sequence, relatively quickly.
I imagine, since the axes and shields appear to both be laser-fied, the bolts are no less deadly than real bullets.
Hmmm, with those two points, that, at least, even the odds.
Chewbacca uses a space-crossbow too :) They call it a bowcaster.
"Live long... and remember us."
3:34
This part always gives me goosebumps. Fantastic piece.
ahhh the memories of auriga of those annoying cultists converting my minor factions villages and every ally declaring cold war against me for no reason
ricijs2000 Thank god they're dead, eh?
There is no need for bitterness.
They are all dead now.
@Reginald Uy are they ?
If you play Endless Space 2 tutorial (or in general) you eventually will find Auriga. Look for it and you will understand :)
I, the Morgawr, declare this new policy, for it, suits me and the people of the Morgawr.
Lumeris will put me in the mood, unfallen can give me purpose, riftborn can make me chill but the vaulters ost will always leave a lump in my throat, when the strings play up.
And United Impires gets you in the mood to purge xenos! FOR THE EMRAH ZELEVAS.
AN EMPIRE OF BILLIONS OF SOULS
Vaulters >>> United Empire.
Sorry, but not sorry.
United Empire uses influences to buyout an entire fleet on the system the Vaulters teleported to*
Auriga may be dead but her children live on, and within them a piece of her still resides.
Plus these children can make her whole again. Since terraforming is a thing.
I wonder, if the Vaulters found Auriga, could they theoretically cut off a massive chunk, bring it back home, and treat it as Jerusalem?
Get your holy land, only 9.99 microdust credits
Reminds me of Civilization IV and VI where you age up and the music gets more grandiose.
Ah, back in the day when my father and older brother would play hours of Civilization and Warcraft III...
The one dislike was a Craver.
Ahhh, back when we could see our enemies 😪 good times
I remember my time as them on auriga, the big war we had to fight against the growing cultist faction, but we persevered and in the plains between two major facing cities we fought our last battle, the casualties were high, but we finally obtained the decisive victory and conquered their last city holding up our well deserved glory, granting to all of us the journey to the stars...
you're gonna make me want to (finally) try it

It's funny, I didn't much care for the Vaulters theme in Endless Legend. But hearing it remixed for ES2 brings me an overwhelming crash of nostalgia.
Escape in a land that blanket in ice,
To the cold and merciless, twisted vice.
Drift to the low through course unknown,
From there reserved the line now shown.
And down at last, their light grew dim,
Unable to restore to keep from within.
Yet the spark enflared, their vessel alight,
Their journey stay to course the night.

bet you didnt expect to see my 200 manpower fleet in my newest colonized system in the corner of the galaxy did you?
I survived a craver 1v1 only because I could cobble together a large enough fleet to scare him off, using warp.
wanderinghobo49 I managed to defeat Cravers on my first game, when I didn't realise that you had to research in Empire Development to unlock new ship classes, so I just armed and bought 6 exploration vessels.
XD
cravers spawned next to me as UE in my first game
I took two of their three worlds and just let them stay as one planet
it's a weird vibe spawning next to them cause it changes your entire early game to a military focus
crushing the cravers is the true imperial way
Listening to this is making me cry somehow...
The guilt they feel for being the only ones to survive. And for leaving their kin behind.
Yeah, aside from the Sisters of Mercy and probably the Broken Lords... It was sad not everyone manage to bail out of that planet.
@@TricksterPoi I'm still wondering how the Broken Lords were defeated in Winter, they literal don't need Food and should have enough Dust on Auriga after everyone freezes so they could survive.
@@HandsomeGamerGuy I'm gonna guess either other factions decided to gang on them or something else happened to made them lose.

Man. This theme evoke the feeling of Firefly and Serenity to me.
the game isn't even that old but 3:30 gave me nostalgia
The fact that is is 1:1 the much older Vaulters theme from Endless Legend with a hip hop-ish beat slapped over it probably contributes to that.
Vaulters are BACK!
with a 20 dollar price tag this time.
When I won Legends the first time in February I threw a small funeral for Aurgia and OPbot with some tea candles. Then this DLC came out.
I've been playing this track over and over in my mind all weekend, haven't gotten to play yet.
Can someone please make a one hour long version of this?
I want to listen to it while driving though.

Welcome in a club
In endless legend you try so damn hard to preserve this fantastic world of wizard stones and ardent peoples only to find a husk in endless spaces 2. A husk... Your endevers seemingly pointless. A race of dragon men and magical elves just gone. A husk. A husk of knowledge. The tears of Auriga wept for nothing.
Well, that was the case even in Endless Space 1. But, they saved the Sisters of Mercy.
I did not expect the vaulters to arrive this early XD cannot wait to get this dlc and play this, in the mean time i think i should do this: 1 finish DotE with the robot, 2 finish vaulters story in EL then 3 play as vaulters in ES2 while enjoying this amazing music all the way through the story of the vaulters, but unfortunately i have too many games at the moment to finish XD so i think i will skip to step 3 ;)
You also need to play ES1 as the Vaulters too...
Mraz Helmer tbh i dont count the es1 vaulters because i dont think its a part of the timeline anymore :/ i could be completely wrong and it goes es1 dote el es2 XD
Is this the end of our voyage .. ?

Ooooh man, that violin reminds me so much of game of thrones...FlybyNo could easily send a CV to produce the music of game of thrones.
Nice sound!
Vaulters FTW
The OST for this game is insanely good. Just the whole atmosphere/vibe of the Endless games is so distinct. Hopefully the same person does the music for that new medieval game, at least, even if the art/setting are totally different.
What will u get if u put Scandynavia and Halo spartans into an blander. Vaulters will come out
How can I buy this track from you guys? It's not in the Bandcamp album, and quality like this deserves payment.
If you had the game, you can buy the Pathfinder upgrade to unlock all the title, but be careful: I'm not sure that Time of Change will be in or no.
This track will be available on different platforms in several weeks, you'll have to be a little more patient :) Thanks for your support Avensis Astari!
I'll just keep looping it on here in the meantime, haha.
I know the Digital Deluxe Edition of ES2 includes the soundtrack, but I don't know if it's any more/less of a contribution to the artists than purchasing it through Bandcamp and the like.

When is this going to be added to the OST on Spotify?
Hi Richard! This track is included in the Endless Space 2: Lost Symphony OST which is available on Spotify.
Is it quite strange that the good part (for me) starts at 3:33
Vaulters have the best song and the best intro, but is a pretty meh race overall.
I'd say they are the strongest if played right.
The music from this game is incredible... but it does not work well with the game. Ive played a couple hundred hours of endless space and its not until listening to the tracks on youtube until i really appreciate the music.
I think maybe it just has too much going on for a game that requires brain power and critical thinking on that scale. The music goes from setting the mood to distracting by the end of each track. Great music, not great background music.
