I know some people won't believe this but harbor freight has a two-stroke pump and it has fantastic reviews. Now they used to come from Italy not 100% sure if they still do or not
What I like about your compressor is how quiet it is. I'm also glad to see that you left it on the pallet. Everybody said such a hurry to take it off of there and then have to bolt it to the floor. My current compressor iPad for 20 years and it still sits on the wooden pallet.
Thank you for posting this video. I've been thinking about doing this. I know these days a lot of people are going to battery powered stuff. There's just certain things that you got to have air power tools for. I'm glad to see a young person as yourself realize everybody that works on cars or any type of thing with an engine needs to have an air compressor. I wouldn't know what to do when I clean carburetors if I didn't have an air compressor.
Looking forward to watching more from you. Of course I gave you a big old thumbs up and I hit the subscribe button.

Nice job! I'm thinking of replacing my pump. From what I've read, having a magnetic starter will increase the life of the motor.

I like that assembled in the USA, we used to make them, WTF ' you can heat the copper pipe to bend it, great info man, thanks

A Vbelt should never run on the bottom of a pulley. You should probably change the motor pulley to match. Great video. My compressor pump is HFs big one, single stage and does 14 SCFM, and works well for sandblasting.

Yea, I just put the belt on the tighter side and let it ride. Luckily it’s still working good with minimal wear… but I don’t use it much.

for others who do this mod the copper pipe just go to your hardware and get a bending spring you can buy them in sizes to match the pipe, second what he is doing is wrong there is a problem using the wrong belt to either pulley it will fail you may need to change the pulley to match the rpm rating on the pump they don't like much more than 900rpm putting the pulley for the old pump will mess up in 1 of to ways 1. running the pump too slow, 2. equally bad is running too fast do it right and you'll have a really good unit which will last you years and more versatile compressor

I see what you are saying, But that pump is specifically sold at home depot as a replacement for this compressor and motor. The pulley comes factory on the pump. Its rated for 150 psi and I set it to 120, its has been running perfect for over a year now

Checking the motors amp pull @max psi is higher♥

Correct amp draw will be higher given a higher psi cutoff.

Do you have a link to that pump? Mine is rattling like a snake. Still working but it's just a matter of time.

You have to get new pulleys to match the belt.

that's correct and also being a single stage pump it probably needs to turn at a slower rpm so you may need a different size pulley also.

dude downsizing the drive belt to an A will wear the belt in no time, and also running the A in a B sheave will bottom the belt out in the sheave. If you see the paint worn out of the root of the sheave, your belt is running against it. Just adding more tension will only be a less efficient drive system. Do yourself a favour and get an A size drive pulley.

I know what you mean! I probably turn it on twice a month so its not running too often, but I will keep an eye on it!

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Pumps have max psi rating...that's not likely a 175psi pump
