    But now with new motor too, it will be like a new compressor . I have been looking for an upright tank close to me . Some day i will find one . My tank has a hole , may patch it up till i find a tank . Seem to be a lot of lay down tanks around here but they take up so much room .

      I agree Terry , after this the compressor should be trouble free for many years. Thanks

    I've looked at them compressor pumps at Harbor Freight... the dual piston should be quieter. To bad the motor toasted... she'll be like new when you getter done... Nice helpful DIY Lloyd... thumbs up.!!

      I think the motor was on its way out and adding the load of the new compressor was just too much for it. Thanks Pappy

    hello.
    Twin cylinder air compressor.
    It fits nicely!
    Replace motor pulley.
    Installing the V-belt. It fits well.
    But it didn't seem to work.
    You have a new motor and pulley ready.
    Thank you my friend.

    Nice job changing it over. You'd think that would've been ready to roll but not without changing something. Then the motor goes. Guess it was probably dew too. You'll be back in business soon. Have a Merry Christmas Lloyd.

    A new motor will make that compressor hum. It seems that when everything is going smoothly I did something wrong, you always have a bump or two before you finally get it right, but when it's right, you do a fist pump and say "ya buddy!!" Look forward to part 2

    How's she goin'? Too bad about the motor but that looks like a great compressor. The 4 1/2 pully did it in eh. The 2/ 1/2 inch pulley will probably work better and a new motor will be pretty nice. Take care!!

    • @RustyGlovebox
      @RustyGlovebox  Рік тому +1

      I agree with you Mike , the smaller pulley should be much easier on the motor. Cheers and take care

    I got this same compressor pump as well , I use a brass 3/4" coupling from Home depot and than used a 3/4" to 5/8" reducer to flare fitting fits perfectly. Have had it for just over 2yrs now

    Should be good once you get a new suitably rated motor and pulley.
    I have had a few run and start capacitors go bad - but usually it is easy to spot as they exploded!

    There's always a hiccup along the way, but you've got it. That's going to be a nice compressor, that pump really puts out the cfm's too. My 60 gallon Husky twin doesn't make that much cfm, so you'll have air to spare.

    • @RustyGlovebox
      @RustyGlovebox  Рік тому

      That is what I'm thinking. I have a new motor coming with a smaller pulley. So it won't put so much strain on the motor. Keep you fingers crossed for me. Thanks Robert

    Perfect timing, I need to replace the compressor on my 5hp/80 gallon compressor. I've looked at the compressors from Harbor Freight as well as Northern Tool, haven't decided which to get yet. I'll wait and see how your HF compressor works. 🙂 I wish HF still had the 20% off coupons.

    • @RustyGlovebox
      @RustyGlovebox  Рік тому

      @@RustyGlovebox Well, I just went to the Northern Tool website, and the 5hp vertical twin compressor pump that I was leaning towards getting is now discontinued! ☹ That was going to be a perfect replacement for me. Guess I will have to go with the HF V-twin. Looking forward to your Part 2 on this upgrade.

I will probably do the same with mine as you have done with yours once something gives out. Cant wait to see the update. Great job !
