Yes, you don't need to set a release date. It probably makes sense to set your steam page up rather sooner than later cause then you can start collecting wishlists.

Games that big * never * get made by one individual unless you have a team or tons of years worth of free time. You have to know your limits and trying to make a game "3x bigger than GTA 4", by yourself or with some friends is going to be a complete waste of time as thousands of people worked on that game. You will fail and it's why you have to know your limits and have to work around your limits. Everyone has their limits and finding yours is the first half of making a successful game. Making a giant game as one of your first games will never end up well for you and i'm saying this as someone who's been making click&point games ever since i was 11, i've been learning Unity the last 2 years and over that time i've learnt 6 programming languages (2 of them to their fullest), learnt Unreal Engine and currently trying to make my own game engine using C++ Never try to make a big game unless you have a fanbase or your entire family supporting you up. Making smaller games and actually making a game from start to finish will help you in ways you wouldn't imagine and you'll learn way more making tons of small games and releasing them than making a huge game that will probably get sunk in with all the other games by the Steam algorithm.

I couldn't be more disappointed by this video. The only thing that's remotely hard to understand about the process is how to prepare your tax / company info, for people who never created a company or sold something. The same step that you conveniently dismissed. I have a game and I have a Steamworks account, I also know how to upload files etc. But I have no idea how to get past the "register your company data" wall, where they talk about things like "No matter where you come from, you absolutely need a US tax id, that you have to request at some US government institution via FAX and it can take some months to get a response", let alone what you need to fill in those forms that you need to send there.
i do not know, one day i will make a game or not. but i enjoyed your video soooo much brother. it gives me confidense on steam. and i liked the way of talking of yours, you are really a good person from heart.
