    Have you ever tried a Veg Chicken? Believe me, you will be surprised at how much like the real thing this veg chicken tastes!
    This veg chicken is completely vegan. So it is a vegan chicken recipe. This veg chicken is also known as seitan and is made from gluten which is a wheat protein found in flour. For a flavouring, we add onion powder & garlic powder and some Kashmiri red chili powder.
    The Process of making veg chicken has just 4 simple steps: making the dough, washing the dough, shaping the dough, cooking it and then it is ready to be used in your favourite recipe.
    I have shared the recipe of a veg chicken curry and KFC Style Fried Chicken too!
    You can make these KFC Style Chicken & any Chicken curry and fool anyone!

    Recipe :
    Veg Chicken/ Vegan Chicken/ Seitan
    Preparation Time: 40 minutes
    Cooking Time: 10 minutes
    Ingredients:
    5 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    ½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
    1 tsp salt
    Method:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
    Gradually add the water to the dry mixture, stirring until the dough comes together.
    Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
    Soak the dough in water for 30 minutes. Now rinse well to remove all starch.
    Cut the dough into small pieces or strips. Wrap over a wooden spoon to make mock chicken legs.
    In a large pot, bring the water to a boil.
    Add the mock chicken pieces to the boiling water and let them simmer for 8 -10 minutes, or until the mock meat is firm and cooked through.
    Remove the mock meat from the broth and let it cool.
    Use the seitan in your favourite recipes.
    Veg KFC
    Preparation Time: 40 minutes
    Cooking Time: 10 minutes
    Ingredients:
    400g Veg chicken
    ¼ cup flour
    2 tbsp panko bread crumbs
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1 tsp onion powder
    ½ tsp white pepper powder
    ½ tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
    Salt to taste
    Oil to fry
    Method:
    Mix together all the dry ingredients.
    In a bowl, take 2 tbsp corn flour and add ½ cup water.
    Dip the chicken pieces in the corn slurry. Roll in bread coating and deep fry the pieces in medium hot oil. Serve.
    Veg Chicken Curry
    Preparation Time: 40 minutes
    Cooking Time: 10 minutes
    Ingredients:
    4 tbsp oil
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp cumin seeds
    1 cup sliced onions
    1 cup sliced tomatoes
    ¼ cup cashew nuts
    1 tsp red chili powder
    1 tsp coriander powder
    1 tsp garam masala powder
    1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
    Salt to taste
    400g Veg Chicken
    1 tsp kasuri methi
    Method:
    Heat oil in a pan. Add the bay leaves and the cumin seeds and allow to splutter.
    Add the sliced onions, cashew nuts and cook till translucent. Add the sliced tomatoes and the ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw ginger garlic smell disappears.
    Add the powdered spices and mix well.
    Remove from heat and grind to a fine paste with ½cup cold water.
    Return the paste to the pan. Sauté for 2-3 minutes and add the veg chicken pieces. Cook for 4-5 minutes. Add 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add salt to taste. Top with kasuri methi and serve.

    In Rajesthan, this method of washing wheat / maida🙏🙏dough & removing gluten out of it, to make a dish which rivals boneless mutton. we call it " Chakki Ka Saag". thanks for uploading this, it is one of the fogotten recipies of India. 🙏

      We remove starch by washing it. Gluten is the protein left behind. Good to know the background though.

    You can use vital wheat instead of washing maida. It's basically the same thing, but the washing of the wheat is pre-done, so it saves you a lot of time. Great recipes, will love to try it out.

      Vital wheat gluten isnt soft like maida. You can carry out trial side by side to ascertain this. Since the dough is worked out more in case of maida, the seitan is more juicy. Moreover VWG has wheaty flavour whereas Washed flour method is neutral.
      Also vital wheat gluten is very expensive for home users. If you have passion for cooking then maida is better for the purpose.

      It doesn't work like that. You can add some gluten powder to maida and then do the above method. Vital wheat gluten makes hard seitan compared to pure maida. You can get same results with whole wheat as wheat gluten. You won't like the smell of wheat along with heavy chewy gum like thing.

      @@varsharao86 I have years of experience in pizza and soya chaap. That's why I share my experience with new people in this hobby.
      Knead the maida into a soft ball, apply oil over it and keep it for 2-4 hours for gluten to develop. After this more you knead, better the gluten. Then rest for 20 min and then immerse it in normal water for loosening the dough. Then you can easily remove the starch water after each wash. Finally you will be left with rubbery stretchy mass which can be stretched anyway you like.

      @@varsharao86 Add some nutrela powder (preferably fortune or other good brands) into the gluten and knead well. That will give distinct taste of soya chaap available in the market.

We'll have to make it at home from scratch since the canned ones we get is so bad 🤮. I'll surely try this and report back to you once I make it to let you know how it turned out. 🙏😋

      You can but you wont be pleased by the results. Yield will be less and seitan would be hard to bite just like shoe leather. Taste wont be that nice.

      Gehu ka aata se bhi ban sakti hai. Ye sirf gehu se hi ban sakti hai chahe aata ho ya maida.

      Iske liye gluten ki zaroorat hoti hai. And gluten sirf gehu ya maide mein hi sabse zyada hota hai. Anyways aap toh maide ko dho dengi toh bachta sirf fibre hai and fibre is good for us.

      It doesn't remain maida after it's ready. It's the left over gluten, starch gets washed away. I tried with gehu ka atta. But my flour wasn't good enough for this.

      It would be better to keep the dough for atleast 2 hours to activate the gluten. That way gluten yield would be more. But you need to work out the dough to get better result in meaty texture.

      Nhi. Powder form me kaafi concentrated rehta hai. Gluten inn flavours ko absorb kar leta hai aur solid parts ko dhote samay nikaal diya jata hai. Lekin powdered form me jaldi milta nhi. Agar bana sakte ho toh better hai.

      But taste will be different. Chicken ka texture laa sakte ho lekin mehek bilkul nhi aati. Saara masale ka kamaal hota hai.
      Agar aap chicken khate ho toh aapko chicken hi jyada pasand aayega. Ye recipe unn logo ke liye hai jo apne diet se meat cut karna chahte hain.
      Ab asli cigarette ya beer ka maza e-cigarette ya soda shop wala beer flavour ka soft drink toh nhi de sakta. Phir bhi log pasand karte hain.😂😂😂

    I forgot to add, the remaing water wheat mixture is not to thrown away. a special sweet i.e. halwa mi made out of it. you rest the liquid for thee to four hours. A layer of water will be on the top & very fine liqidy dough will settle at the bottom. Carefully remove the water from the mixture. In a large kadai heat pure ghee(requires a good quantity, carefully put the liquidy dough in it. on slow to medium heat, fry this mixture,then add sugar , strands of safforn, as well as cardmom powder. fry till it leaves the sides. it is ready to serve.

      The problem of maida is its starch. When you remove it, its pure protein. No need to worry after that. Cheapest source of protein which is readily digestible. One of the best option to add protein without adding more calories in your diet.

      Bilkul. Spices nikal jayenge lekin flavour jarur rah jayega. Gluten khud me bahut kuchh absorb kar leta hai. Issliye gluten ko humesha dust se dur rakhe aur saaf paani se dhoye. Warna bahut gandgi attract kar lega aur usko aap dho kar bhi nhi nikaal sakte. Bahut chipchipa hota hai.

    Using soya or chickpea would have been healthier than maida

      I have conducted numerous experiments and found that maida is the best base material. You can add one tablespoon of soya flour or soya nugget flour for the taste but anything beyond that would completely change the nature of seitan. Chickpea flour is more disastrous. Meaty texture only comes from gluten, when it comes from maida.

      It is wheat protein called glutin. Wheat contains high amount of gluten. This recipe can be made with wheat flour or all purpose flour.

      Yes, you can but yield would be less, seitan would be hard as leather with bran flavour, dark in colour.
      Maida is best suited for this purpose.

      I have been wasting my time and energy in making healthy version of seitan by wheat aata. Ultimately I had to shift to maida for best results. If you remove the starch of maida then the only thing left is protein and 2% fat. So maida is not bad in this case.       @@mandar747 Add 550ml water to 1kg maida and make dough. Leave for 2 hours in room temperature. After that either keep it in the fridge or just wash it with cold water. Keep washing and changing water till starch is washed away leaving rubbery substance. Do not wash too much. Just as soon as dough reduces to about 600gm, keep it over a collander or strainer to drain exess water. Rest for 2 hours and then you can wrap the pieces on stick and simmer for 45 minutes. Or you can just cook the pieces in steam just like momos.

      Nonveg only 2 days a week, only male member of the family , outside of house... baki all good as long ladies dont eat non veg and observe all brats 😂😂😂
