Low light looks better in the Insta for sure, I also notice the lens cover must not have a hydrophobic coating as the water sticks to it. Looks like they didn't learn from the GoPro 8 flaw, the lens cover HAS to be replaceable! This is an action cam!
It dissipates heat from under as well, lying it around, no moving air and filming is not the main thing to do with action cams. I had mine inside and outside of the car in Japan last summer and never had it overheat. If there is airflow whatsoever it should not overheat that easily. If you take timelapses it never overheats on those, had mine on a yard all day in blazing heat in Japan with external power taking timelapse.
Is there any huge difference between ace pro and ace especially when it comes to low light videos? because price of Ace only is cheaper than pro. Need a quick suggestion. Thanks.
Yes, but this one has an F2.6 vs F3.2 on the ONE R. Aperture makes a big difference too. 1/3 inch is not small by any means. Although it would've been super nice to get that 1inch sensor in this with F2.6 aperture.
Very very enthused, potential and probable game changer here, as a motovlogger who's been DJI loyal for two action cameras , I can already see this as being a trade up. Really productive and informative . Keen to see more ! 👍
No replaceable lens cover on the ace pro has me disappointed 😔 I can’t be the only person who’s scratched a GoPro lens. Seeing a pre production unit with removable lens on the ace pro makes me think it’s a money grab. GoPro 8 vibes
Yeah I'm confused I don't even see a case available. But it's marketed for motorcycles and action in general. If you ride dirt bikes you're gonna crash so then what??
Obviously there is no need for removable lens, if you crash with this camera the flip screen would be torn so you have to send it in for repair anyways.
Thats all nice and sweet but what about this flip screen, how durable will be after years, what about lense that you cant change on action camera, what about overheating, what about software gliches, why is it missing 10-bit colors, why the view is not so wide? That is info what we want to know
Are you sure you didn't turn something off from the Go Pro camera? That was a huge difference between the two. Looks like the Gopro was in a crying mode or sth. I might think you turn off sth on the Gopro.
Hey man! I’ve been having a huge problem with my ace pro- flickering. At 60Hz 4k 24 ss-literally anything I get this awful flicker in my video which totally takes away from my shots. Any suggestions why? Great video!
no replaceable lens = no sale ! insta- you should have learned this from the x x2 and x3 comments, but you still aren't using replaceable lenses ? come on !
Be interested so see how it goes on a Motorbike when mounted to the top triple. Wonder if the quick release mount causes the image stabilisation to have issues.
The camera doesn’t have the AI warp feature because the processor isn’t good enough and is entirely app based. You also have to pay for it after 3 months, but they dont put that in the ad
Thanks for the introduction to the Ace Pro. I had no idea about this camera coming out. Yeah, so far the video quality samples looks like it's on par with GoPro and better than Action 4. I like the overheating test. I'll be honest, getting a free camera introduces a bit of questioning. Overheating or glitching, anyone else know or have experience in regards to it? But sounds like a very good action camera that pulls interest towards casual users like myself. But do appreciate the well detailed overview of this new action camera. Thanks!
It's so bad that I still only know GoPro, and always feel like I'm an inexperienced camera user. For me, GoPro is still good and perfect, because they still keep the best they can do and sell small improvements. Hopefully next year Gopro will innovate or be crushed!
@@LetoDK I know that, I just don't have the conditions to own them. But I feel GoPro still has authenticity in the images. For me, the GoPro captures the same image as the eye sees, and the sound recording ability is also excellent.
They should be making a mini version of it, without the screen. You don't really need a screen if your doing actual "action". Will be cheaper, more pragmatic and durable. Thanks for the review 🙏
Is there any huge difference between ace pro and ace especially when it comes to low light video? because price of Ace only is cheaper than pro. Need a quick suggestion. Thanks.
Great video thank you. Quick question - as a UK vlogger why don’t you shoot in 25 or 50 fps? I notice you were recording in 30 or 60fps, which I understood is the US NTSC standard. I’m a UK UA-camr and always shoot in 25 fps, should I change to 30 or 60? TIA.
From all the early reviews I watched today, it seems like you guys received a different version compared to the one Insta360 is promoting commercially. On their website, they show the 8k capabilities, and none of you mentioned it, which is quite surprising!
I've read this from a lot of reviews that were posted online today: "At the time of testing, the 8K hardware wasn’t supported by the firmware so I wasn’t able to see the results, but the very fact that this feature will be available is impressive, and we're looking forward to testing the 8K video mode when it's available for our full and in-depth review."
Any chance you could check the LRV files and let us know the resolution and frame rate? Most importantly, does the LRV frame rate match the frame rate of the main video file? On previous insta360 cameras the LRV files have a lower frame rate (14.98fps) which makes them useless for using as proxy files for editing. Gopro & DJI cameras use a matching frame rate for their LRV files, so they can be used as proxies for editing. To check the frame rate & resolution you just need to rename the LRV file from .lrv to .mp4 and then it will work like a normal video file. Thanks in advance!
hello @Thetechcap can the ace pro do a continuous recording of 4k 30 mode more than 2 hours in case I am planning to try this as a sort of dashcam for travel videos. The older models or other same genre cameras do stop recording after a certain time. as for the 4k 60 i have experience with insta 360 one r that its stops recording or cuts into another recording session around 25 minutes to 30 minutes.
Wow the video quality looks fantastic, first thing if buying would have to be screen protector protection and or a case, let’s hope that they bring out replaceable lens covers, if Go pro can do then so should insta be able to 🤔🤔🤔 live the flip out screen, this is going sell like hot cakes 😎🤩
Hey tom 4 month ago you uploaded Oled tv so I want to ask you that how did you get 4k mode in your tv actually my tv company name Oneplus so I want 4k mode in my Tv
I will watch to see what this one is like. I have been rocking Akaso cameras for a few years, because i am broke and cheap. Dont always buy into the name brand thing. Find things cheaper do the job. I have had virtually zero issues with my cameras. I think they look just as good wo use of any filters or editing tricks. I like real. Sound been battling wind forever, but think have to a tolerable point on one of them. Watch other videos and dont feel is bad, because either wind is still prevalent or voice sounds digitized from using a separate recorder or editing tricks. Hear people complain about their go pros and even these. Certainly does not entice me to spend 5 or 6 times as much. Ntm usually does not come w any attachments sold separately.
Brave man walking around London these days with two cameras on show! Nice video though not sure I should trust a tech review from a man who can't ride a bicycle😊
So, losing the modular design mans losing me as a customer. I'll stick with my One RS for a while, with the 1" mod, and the 360 mod and the 4K boost mod, then. The non-replaceable lens is ridiculous. They learned nothing from GP's error with the GP8, then? This video is like watching the shopping channel, just a shameless plug for Insta360.

No mention of editing 8k and what a nightmare it will be with file size etc ! It’s an 8k camera that at the time of recording don’t actually record in 8k 😂😂. Nice in low light but when are you doing action sport at night in the dark ? This is more a vlogging camera than an action camera
It looks "ok" I suppose....but it seems it's being hit with massive amounts of noise reduction waxy artifacts, even in bright light situations. Insta360, can you please give us noise reduction controls? You are smashing that image way too hard and scrubbing it so deeply that it looks plastic.
I bought it , wait for the delivery come to me. Was searching for small useful camera with good picture. Will do the vlogs with it , interesting about microphones, which type is suitable? If I would like to have some interviews to the person?
This needs a case. Only a nuts would take a 500+ dollars camera out in the field without a full covering case and lens covers. Until Insta360 doesn't release covers, I will stick to their other cameras. I will never understand all the gopro love, those action cams are full of flaws.

The lense is removeable!
This gopro overheating thing is really killing their brand. Unbelievable they didnt change this still.
They replaced one of my "bloated" (exploded) batteries due to this.

Do you provide one for testing in India too ?
When will the 8K firmware be released?
Thank you for non removable lens guard

The bigger sensor doesn't seem as exciting when you consider that they already have a full 1inch sensor module available.
Yes, but this one has an F2.6 vs F3.2 on the ONE R.

Hey Chaps! What would you use an Action Cam for??
Mostly surfing, so that huge screen in the back is redundant for me.
Recording drum cover songs, biking/hiking thru the woods.
I shoot travel videos. Action cams are strong and durable not to mention waterproof…..
How is the Ace Pro audio feedback? Especially at noisy place like concerts or festivals?
Snorkeling
Hello. I want to use Insta360 Ace Pro as a webcam for Twitch live streams. Will I have any problems with long-term use? What are your suggestions?
Go pro is going out of business.. DJi and insta 360 are killing it! This will be a good pairing for my pocket 3👍

It looks like you have stabilisation switched off on the GoPro during the Soho shoot
The low light stabilization is great!
Can you shoot in flat mode when shooting in 4k 30fps or 24fps, instead of HDR? Can you disengage HDR mode?

Can the brightness of the flip-out screen be adjusted? Curious how this camera will compare to the latest DJI.
Yes it can
Actually dji osmo action 4 sensor is same size and came to market a while back
Why I think stabilisation was disabled on gopro
It's so bad that I still only know GoPro, and always feel like I'm an inexperienced camera user. For me, GoPro is still good and perfect, because they still keep the best they can do and sell small improvements. Hopefully next year Gopro will innovate or be crushed!
DJI Action 4 beat GoPro long ago, and now the Insta360 Ace Pro beats both of them in certain areas.

Shoot in any rate you want. The 25 is only to prevent mains 50hz sync issues on indoor lights etc.
i love the experience with insta360
Is this better than the insta 360 x3 I have a motorbike and I want a gd camera for my trips out n about
Can an ND filter be put on the Insta360 Ace Pro? If not, that is a deal breaker for many people. Is the lens cover removable and replaceable?

He literally mentions it in his video. Not available at launch.
What is the point of 8k? Very few people want to shoot in 8k.
