  • It's getting COLD up in the North...maybe even TOO cold for us to stay - but somehow, not too cold for a few icy river plunges 😉

As your “dad“, those tiny screws are removed with optical tools. You can buy a set of like five of them from any hardware store for just a few dollars. Really required in everybody’s tool kit. You’ll use them again and again and will not strip the screw like the Swiss Army knife will do.

So sad that the beautiful wild environment was plastered with disgusting trash. These are not the campers that anyone wants around! How hard is it to bring trash bags and carry out what you carried in???
Thank you for taking time to clean up whatever you could!
Take care, stay safe and enjoy your camping with Terra!💕
    Until your next video

it definitely isnt convenient, and I can only take so much, but I usually try to find big public dumpsters to dispose of the waste in, so that way I dont cause a problem or headache for someone else :)

New to your channel. Just watched this yesterday. I was VERY touched by your expression of gratitude. I have been watching another UA-camr for a few years. A few weeks ago I started feeling a bit off. I realized that she has made A LOT of money from her full-time career as a content creator and lives a very rich life because of we viewers. I am not feeling gratitude from her. (She is not the only one like that, but I have watched her go from struggling to rich due to You Tube). Sure, content creators say or put text up that says thanks, but do they mean it? I felt your sense of gratitude.
Thank you for being you and caring about our environment!

I have two Instant Pots and they are GREAT for these type of dishes! If you have to instant release, just put some paper towel above the steam. Do not cover the hole, just enough to capture the steam. Or let it get down to pressure slowly before you turn the cover open. I hope Tara likes a bit of that Thanksgiving dinner too! Thank you for sharing your meal with us!

I love using my instapot in my van. When pressure cooking I unplug it and take it out of the van to release steam. Also the IP has a slow cook setting and I like to slow cook soups in it on travel days. I set the IP in the sink and when we arrive at camp dinner is done. I'll top soups with croutons to keep it hassle free.

The light in that last scene was so beautiful and soft. I'm so impressed with your ability to troubleshoot and repair your DC to DC charging. From hearing other people's experiences with these systems, problems can arise if you're charging at low RPMs ie, low speeds, or with the engine just idling. Apparently, you can end up 'starving' the engine battery so that eventually your engine just quits. It's not a terrible crisis if you realize what's happened and just turn off the DC to DC charging, then jump-start your engine using your house battery. The takeaway is that it's advised to on charge the house battery when you're on a paved road, going at a good clip. Thanks for sharing you cold dips with us. Very inspiring!

thank you for the tips! I will be sure to monitor it - I also upsized my alternator before hitting the road to a 140amp charger, so these 40amps shouldnt be too big of an issue. but still - it happens!

I love your channel, I know what you mean when people think your just parking at different places. Everybody isn't rich . But we deserve to own what we can afford. I think it's awesome to be able to do what you do. Travel where you want whenever you want. I'm leaving a government housing building the end of April next year to camp for the summer and hopefully find a small travel trailer to stay in the rest of the year. I'll be 69 next June. Time I had a go on my own. Thanks for sharing your experiences. 🙃😊

It seems you need to invest on a solar blanket. That way even if your truck is parked under the shade, you can position the solar blanket where the sun shines. You'd be amaze how much charge they can put back into your battery even in low light. My setup consist of a 160W fixed solar on top of my roof top tent (on my 4WD), and a 200W solar blanket with a 20 metre extension cord, which I used for days when my 4WD is parked under shade for a few days. I've been to Leavenworth some 20 year ago. I thought it was a quaint Bavarian style village.

Getting into cold water helps a lot with weight loss. I do it in the winter time. Michael Phelps the Olympic swimmer, eats 20k calories a day and still lost weight. That was because he practice swimming in the cold Pacific Ocean for 2 hrs. a day. Your body uses up many calories to stay warm in cold water. So try to stay in it for 15 min. Watch you don’t get frostbite. They have cryogenic spas to help with weight loss too. The new rave in Hollywood but it is expensive.

I was watching some of your videos about how you bought your Tundra from Minasota. I am not sure you checked out the Tundra frame(beneath the truck) for rust before your purchase. Since you are currently driving around snow country, road salt will rust out the Tundra frame over time. You may want to find a mechanics shop that can remove some frame surface rust, and spray/coat the frame with a rust barrier, and recoat/spray every 2 years. Once the frame is rusted out, the truck is worthless, something to think about. I enjoy watching your magical journey and travel. Thanks for sharing!

What you need for the small screws is what is called a precision screwdriver set. They sell them at most stores that have tools (Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, department stores). What I found most useful was a set I kept for my telecommunications work which came with a zip up case (a hard plastic case latch will become loose and spill the screwdrivers). They're cheap, so a worthwhile investment.

I find the smaller 3qt InstantPot is plenty for me. Example: 2 cups rice, 3 cups water, 11 minutes. Makes enough rice for 4 people and often a bit leftover for rice pudding. Also uses less power. The 6 qt size would make roasts though, and larger portions for future meals.

SO I have a renogy DC-DC. I HATE it for that same reason. Ecoworthy has a much better one that uses voltage sense instead of an on/off wire. It's easier to set up and it's also an MPPT controller that I put in someone else's van and honestly? I might switch to it. It cuts off automagically if voltage drops below 12.5, it turns off if the solar panels are charging.

I live in Washington, about an hour to an hour and a half from Leavenworth and Wenatchee. It is so beautiful over there. It was so nice to see that you enjoyed that area.

Wonderful video - great for the holiday. Thanks so much for taking us along. We have 2 instapots - my favorite thing is homemade yogurt- it is easy and delicious.

That was a fantastic video and I felt you when you went into that river but you played it cool you did a great job I always watch love your videos. Your videos are excitement and I learned from you you got a nice rig. Got a good little dog and you’re very beautiful yourself but hopefully one day I’ll meet you out there somewhere on the road and have some coffee until then happy trails. Be safe out there later.
