My wife has the S8 and I just moved from key one to key2. She had the S5 and iphone 5c previous and her s8 is awesome, besides that idiotic finger print scanner beside the camera and the bixby button, the camera is excellent and the screen as well. As for the key2 is destroys the s8 and all other phones in terms of getting things done immediately with flow. There is no comparison and battery life as well as reliability it owns! I'm an avid Sony user and have had the bold 9900, classic, key one and now key2 in my bb lineup, originally had the Galaxy s captivate, Sony Xperia x1, x10, arc, T, Z, Z1, Z5, X performance, XZ2 and rest at the black Berry to just simply beat them all!

It's not just the reviewers, us normal people hate BB and will never ever buy a phone that doesn't belong in 2018. The phone is a piece of trash, I would not use that crap if it was free. This comparison is almost retarded, you simply cannot compare one of the best phones of 2018 with that stupid bb phone.

Talking about the real estate of the screen it varies by the keyboard you use. I mean Who uses that tool bar for the Google keyboard? And plus there are keyboards that are smaller than google keyboard. You can always hide the keyboard and view your documents on a bigger screen with the s9 also.

Well, the sad fact, nobody realized in fact how good and advanced BB10 was and still is. I just moved from my Z30 that served me trusted for more than 5 years to a Key2 LE and to realize the lower amount of flexibility you have on an Android device is shocking. In terms of control and usability the BB10 beats Android by ages. Not to mention the massive amount of apps that came without advertising on the BB10 universe. Moving from BB10 to Android is definitely more than 1 step down.

I've owned most of the Blackberry models for the past 25, including the PRIV. While the PRIV was a great device, It's off- center balance was always annoying. With the rollout of the KEY2, that problem was solved.
I kept using and looking at my PRIV wishing that BB had made that phone with the keyboard permanently extended, and go figure, they did. This is the Blackberry that us lifer BB owners have been waiting for. With the Priv closed, it's the same size as the KEY2!
I just helped two iPhone users switch! Sure it has a couple of quirks you have to get used to (they all do), but the tradeoff is well with it. And it's so nice to use go back and completely use it in in one hand and having all the function buttons on the right side.
Congratulations Blackberry and keep your refinements to this device coming.

forgot a bit on the capacitive/trackapad keayboard? finger sensor on the spacebar? and The Locker App? u can hide all your private stuff there away from accidentally sending to the cloud, etc, can take camera shots with the spacebar and that will be sent to the locker tucked away, there is a password manager there too, and a non-tracking browser inside as well. you can only access these yourself so the pics and stuff are locked away from a 3rd person finding them pics by accident, etc

Key2 is the best at messaging. Isnt that what most people are actually doing on their phones, messaging via social media? I rarely see anyone trying to play a game on a phone actually. The real gamers (such as myself) would carry a psp go, gba micro or even a switch if they had a really big bag. It seems great for more mainstream use, unless I'm mistaken about all the texting people appear to be doing on their phones....?

I now have the Priv but my associates kid me about "old Technology" but I just smile at that. I can't see myself with any other phone due to the security features and all the business transactions I use it for. The fact that someone can't just sit next to me at a coffee shop and clone my phone is a breath-taking feeling. I am now in process of getting a Key2 only hope that T-Mobile can handle support it. Blackberry in my opinion is a much classier looking phone compared to the "social media" phones. I am a loyal BB user, 69 years young.

A person who is serious about gaming will game on a laptop/desktop or Console and a person who wants to take reasonable good pictures would go for an entry level DSLR. A phone should basically do calls, messages , mails and few basic things like play music, browse internet and stuff like that. This is where the Key2 excels. In this age where cyber security is critical , I wouldn't simply get a random phone. I'm absolutely loving the Key2. The only Achilles heel for the Key2 is a potato camera , but again I use my DSLR for holidays so that doesn't actually bother me .

Matter of opinion. Samsung is far superior than the BB. Voice to text or even keyboard swipe is so much faster than typing. My battery lasts all day even with heavy usage. Not sure what your taking about. BB OS not up to par with Android. All phones are going keyless.

Normally my phones used to get useless within 1 year (except iphone).
Now i am using key1 for almost 2years. Still as good as new. No issues till now. But yes i am bored and want to change my phone. But I haven't been able to find any device which can practically replace key1/2. These are very very efficient devices, feel good to hold onto, perfect for business people who don't download crazy no.of apps, rough-tough and the list goes on and on.
Any suggestions:
Main requirements - battery life, efficient keyboard, a lot of single key shortcuts, tough built, professional looks.

I will not be getting switching my KeyOne until I have a problem. For now it is still phenomenal at all I need to do and the battery life is UNREAL. Will probably get a K'eyTwo but in no hurry. Works like a dream

This device is like a bad habit. No excape Once you get hooked onto. I want to switch (out of boredom) and I am looking for a WORTHY replacement for some time now but nothing comes close.

Ok first of all this guy has overly sold the security factor regrarding this blackberry hte DTEK thing he's talking about is one app thats built into the phone and is basic at best. This phone has no more security than any other phone FACTS

Thanks for this video, highlighting productivity. I'm going from old bold 9900 to key 2. I have new classic, but bb10 not supported by banking apps do better with key 2 on sndroid.

s9+(i have one) is a fun phone, infinity screen and high performance screen output, the BB(i had a BB priv) is a work phone, the physical keyboard is well worth it if you use you phone for e-mails all day...i got the s9+ for videos, wonderful and beautiful, fully maxed out....

Great review and thanks! My only argument against the big keyboard experience argument is that - with a physical keyboard you lose the glide/swipe typing feature with Gboard (who thumb types these days? 🤭). I find glide typing much faster than predictive text.
P.S.: I still love the BB Curve I had about a decade ago .. but then it's 2018.

Actually, in fact u can set the Key 2 (and KeyOne) keyboard so ur able to swipe it exactly like u swipe/glide on Gboard/Swype/Swiftkey, etc. And yes, I mean u can swipe the physical keyboard, not just Blackberry's onscreen keyboard. I swipe typed with Swiftkey for years, and became proficient enough. But most of the time, I'd have at least 1 correction to make - usually several. Even without paying attention to the KeyOne's predictive text, 99 percent of the time, I can type even very long documents without making even 1 minor error. For me (and many), It's rly pretty sweet.

My last phone is BB Z30 and its keyboard and hub integration are ultimate. I know that hub integration is not that great in Android, but seriously i want to use BB Android phone. Maybe Evolve X or BB Key 2.

With all the security threats that are aiming for the smartphone these days, I'd rather have a Blackberry in my hands than any other "Hot Rod" smart device any day! And that is something most smartphone users do not take into consideration.
