    I love propagating pings! The hardest part about propping them is trying to figure out what to do with all of the successful propagations when they start growing 😂

      This is soooo true! Lol. If I don't start selling soon, my sethos are going to take over!

    They are basically carnivorous succulents. That is awesome.

    Nice guide. I've tried a few different substrates and housings for ping pullings (coarse sand, fine sand, finely shredded sphagnum, long fiber sphagnum, plastic bag, just throwing it next to the plant) but none have ever worked as well as a damp paper towel in a deli tub. They've been prone to rotting if I do it any other way.

      Same, I've tried different substrate. None are as effective as the good old paper towels in an aluminum tray. Lol.

    Do the pulling tips need to day out a bit before going into the paper towel tray?

    Wanted to let you know that some people use fluval stratum in their soil mixes for carnivorous plants. Some people use a mix of fluval stratum and pumice for Cephalotus and Helimaphora's. I'm experimenting with it by repotting a couple of Home Depot flytraps in the mix with peat moss and perlite. So far all is good.

    How often do you have to re-wet the paper towel?

      I watch the dome. Once it stops collecting humidity on the top, it means it's time re-watwr. Usually a week or two, depending on conditions.

    Is there a better time of year to pull?

    • @CarnivorousPlantsHub
      @CarnivorousPlantsHub  4 місяці тому

      Not if you are doing it inside under grow lights. Pretty much the same year round!

    The sethos (not sure I'm spelling that right😅) are beautiful. I was wondering what grow light you use in them and for how long you have it on each day

    Do you think mycorrhizal fungi would be beneficial to pings? I'm growing in a 100% mineral medium, and it is a porous mineral. If I soak the medium in mycorrhizal fungus liquid, it will get all up in those tiny little holes in the mineral.
    Anyway, I think I'm just going to do it anyway, but just wondering what your thoughts are on mycorrhizal fungi in the pinguicula medium.

      I honestly do not have any experience with mycorrhizal fungi. I'd love to hear your results though!
