    I have an ANPA A, I believe they are in the moranensis complex.

    Very cool video and collection! Do you keep them standing in water even when they are succulent? And do you apply any foliar fertilizer at all?

    • @pings_n_things
      @pings_n_things  2 роки тому +3

      I don't really change up my watering at all when they're succulent. I do fertilize periodically. I used to use Maxsea but switched over to Schultz liquid cactus fertilizer. I don't notice much of a difference with fertilizing vs not fertilizing though

    Did you do your ping give away? My two pings just divided a bunch. I’m going to be giving some out as well

    do you put sphagnum moss at the bottom of each soil mix? or do you fill the whole pot up with your soil mix?

    • @pings_n_things
      @pings_n_things  Рік тому +2

      I fill the whole pot with my mix

      @@pings_n_things I will try your mix in my cultivation and see, my area tend to get too moist, maybe too much peat or sphagnum at the bottom is killing it. I also use pure akadama with success but the cost is quite high, I use 1-3mm top later and 3-6 middle to bottom layer. the good thing I found bout akadama is you know when to water. you might look into it.

      @@gilagarden2535 Turface and akadama are very similar clay products. I use akadama for some of my Nepenthes. But I like turface for my pings since it's a lot cheaper than akadama.

    So cute! What pots do you use?

    Awesome! How did you make that ping prop tray? Is there a layer of fabric seperating the substrate from the bottom of the tray? How deep is the substrate?

    • @pings_n_things
      @pings_n_things  2 роки тому +1

      There's not much to it. I just filled a standard 1020 tray with ping media and that's it. It's only about 1-1.5" of substrate since ping roots are really shallow

    What do you use as the top soil for these? Is it pumice?

    • @pings_n_things
      @pings_n_things  2 роки тому

      it's the same substrate throughout the pot, not just the top layer. It's a mixture of turface, pumice, and perlite.

      @@pings_n_things interesting - I’ve never seen anyone not use peat moss. I’m guessing it’s much less dense. Thank you I’ll try this!

    Can i ask what is your media?

    • @pings_n_things
      @pings_n_things  2 роки тому +1

      I use a mixture of turface, pumice, and perlite at a 2:1:1 or 1:1:1 ratio. Pings aren't too picky so I don't pay too close attention to getting the ratios exact. For homophyllus species like gigantea and emarginata, I like to mix in a good portion of fluval stratum for more water retention. I'll mix it with my regular ping mix at about 60% ping mix and 40% fluval

      @@pings_n_things thanks for the reply. I am leaving here in philippines, we have some limited soil to use but we can use peat, spagnum, perlite, silica sand, pumice. Lava rock, or acadama soil. Do you think that is okay?
