I like that cards like beseech the mirror just say shuffle and not shuffle your deck. I dont want to stand up from the table and start listening to bounce music and dance like we are in 2010's ^^

He was playing a pre release then they (streamers) get a test account with a shit ton of gems etc. that are removed again when the set actually release
CGB only got to mythic because he used a mono red deck.

Don't lose hope, control mages. When they go low, we go lower. I brewed something I didn't think would work, but I'm blazing through diamond. Mythic by tonight.
Doomsday Excruciator, Jace, and nothing else but instant removal and counters (and a few bats). Stay alive, then exile/mill their deck. 80% WR so far, and if the aggros catch on, it will just make them slower.
It’s really hard to watch the tragic idiots CGB ends up against like the game against mono black no removal tribal.
i for one actually am somewhat interested in your persistent efforts to find decks that destroy mono red without being worthless against real decks. but i'm also happy you're at a point at a content creator where you can choose to do content that you're more passionate about, as opposed to grinding something you don't actually want to do! just do what feels good, the content you all produce is great, and if you enjoy what you're making it will bleed through and make all the content you do even better

I know its cringe to suggest things for a deck, BUUUT Live or Die belongs in this deck somewhere. 5 mana instant speed ressurrection with option to kill something if you really have to. Ive brought Valgavoth back many times in teaponse to a mill trigger from opponent and watched all those cards go straight under Valgavoth

Surprisingly "Rest In Peace" and "High Noon" give mono Red lots more trouble than you would think it does. Especially High Noon. If they can't stack the the buffs in a turn they slow way down.

15:00-20:00 Pretty sure that's what happens when you play on a budget (or intermittently). Don't want to commit to a full playset of every combo piece so you gotta throw in a few deck searches in the mix.
Meanwhile, I play on and off for free so I'm still reanimating Etali, Vein Ripper, Calamity, etc with my Scavenger's Talents. Open to suggestions, especially since the finality counters are hitting Vein Ripper hard.
The most terrifying thing for valgavoth is probably the eldrazi.
He's become a part of the house and the house essentially emcompasses the entire plane now.
Eldrazi are known for destroying whole planes and I'd argue that you probably cant scare them.
I just played in the first Standard Showdown of this DSK in my LGS using reanimator (a little differently built). Metagame'd monored because even on paper that is the life we have. Won overwhelmingly against one and lost miserably against the other because, we know rean has those bad hands just punished by opp drawing multiple hasty stuff. Hate it but I still love standard now, but I'm with everyone in hoping this monored power creep stops, absolutely brainless stuff they get.
Its really fun to watch your game strategy but the format sucks and the opponents dont matter (like as characters). Watching you play mind games with the other content creators is like a better experience of watching you play blue?
Hah i was playing my homebrew valg deck and i trashed someone playing this. They made me discard with lil i doscard valg with a live or die in hand play it in reaponse to them cheating out an atraxa, on their turn. They pass i kill their liliana by attacking fully expected them to block with atraxa lol. They dont which is great because i top decked a land, pay 3 life to play liliana, -2 pay 7 life to play their atraxa, get a bloodletter and rush of dread and another slasher lol. It feels amazing besting net decks (especially mono red though) with homebrew stuff.
The weird monoblack deck with tutors was absolutely a Doomsday Demon deck. Didn't see much milling tho
You shoud play cynical loner in this deck.
It's basically a free tutor for the graveyard. You can put creatures but also cards with flashback 😉 in your graveyard.
Plus the fact you can do the combo turn 4 just by having faithful and loner on board is too good.
I feel like this deck could use a 1 of the 2 mana white sorcery that can get back small creatures, or artifacts.
Go Events. Rank is meaningless in these metas anyway, any bloke can pick up monored and coin flip your way to mythic. Queue up where there might be a hint of diversity.

tbf, that mono-red *is* sometimes entertaining to watch you go against, yes sometimes you(people) just lose to it instantly because of the draw and going second, but... eh. I still enjoy seeing the failure and then it working sometimes. But I get the... pain, of facing them often.

Overlords are easily the best part of the new set, they enable so many fun degenerate deck types.
Sad that Raffine rotated, conniving is a fun way to get Valgavoth in the yard. Debating getting a copy of it for either that commander deck or just the classic Kaalia

I am pretty sure the 4th opponent is one of those domsday excruciator decks that try to mill you to 6 then finish with robbery. never understood why people tried to play this in a meta with jace and founding the third path, looks like a solid way to pay 6 to die
you know with a starting hand involving a target creature, you could pass turn 1 and discard it into the gy. dredge flashbacks anyone ?

This replacement effect "are exiled instead" is just not working for me sometimes. Even though the mouse should be exiled and I shouldn't get damaged, it's not happening in some of my games, I still take it. Same with some effects that mill cards and put them into your hand/battlefield, they are not going to exile, though they should. Am I missing something? Maybe I am.
The only obvious thing I can see you might be missing are tokens. (Valgavoth doesn't affect them and they do get their dies triggers.)
